First check the model printed on your Aqara thermostat or its packaging: the instructions and published features differ between the Radiator Thermostat W600 and E1. For the W600, Aqara documents a weekly schedule with up to seven temperature periods per day, each at least 15 minutes long. You can also use Aqara Home automations or a compatible Matter setup, but available controls depend on the model, connection mode, app and platform.
Before you set up a schedule, identify the model and check the valve
This guide uses the W600 for the detailed schedule instructions because Aqara’s W600 manual specifies its schedule limits and setup requirements. The E1 has its own features and compatibility notes; do not assume that its app screens or schedule controls match the W600.
Check that the thermostat fits your radiator valve before installing it. Aqara lists a threaded M30 × 1.5 connection for both models, but the included adapters differ. For the W600, the manual lists RA, RAV, RAVL, Caleffi, Giacomini and M28 × 1.5 adapters. Aqara lists RA, RAV and RAVL adapters for the E1. The E1 is intended for thermostatic valves; Aqara says manual valves, return-temperature-limiter valves and monotube radiator systems are unsupported. If you cannot identify your valve or adapter, ask an installer or Aqara distributor to check compatibility.
How do I set a schedule on my Aqara thermostat?
Set up the W600 in Aqara Home
- Install and power the thermostat. Fit it to a compatible radiator valve and insert its two AA batteries.
- Add it to Aqara Home. Open the app, tap the plus sign in the upper-right corner of the home page, and select the device. The W600 requires an Aqara hub that supports it; Aqara’s manual names Hub M3 as an example. Keep the thermostat within the hub’s connection range. If pairing fails, move it closer to the hub and try again.
- Open the thermostat’s schedule controls. Find the schedule option in the device controls in Aqara Home. Aqara’s manual does not specify the current screen labels or a complete sequence of taps for editing the schedule, so follow the labels shown in your app rather than relying on instructions for another model or firmware version.
- Set target temperatures for the periods you want. The W600 schedule applies temperature settings to time periods for each day of the week. Aqara’s manual states that a single schedule supports up to seven periods, each at least 15 minutes long. Check the schedule shown in the app after editing to make sure the times and temperatures match your routine.
Aqara describes the W600 schedule as automatically controlling heating according to the preset time periods and temperatures, with different settings for morning, daytime, evening and night. Those are examples of periods, not a requirement to use exactly four.

What to know about the E1
Aqara advertises configurable day and night periods for the E1, but its product page does not state the W600’s seven-period limit for the E1. Use the schedule controls and documentation for your E1 rather than assuming the W600 limit or setup sequence applies.
Why does my Aqara thermostat stop following its schedule?
A manual temperature change or preset on the W600 can have a hold duration. While that hold is active, the thermostat may not follow the scheduled target. When the hold expires, the W600 returns to the schedule if one is set. If the temperature seems out of step with the schedule, check whether a manual hold or preset is active and when it is due to end.

You can also use the W100 wireless sensor (sold separately) for quick one-tap physical control. Perfect for easy changes from the couch, bed, or anywhere in your home.
How do I make my Aqara radiator thermostat turn down when I leave?
Use an automation rather than relying on the weekly schedule alone. Aqara’s W600 product page gives an example in which detecting absence for 30 minutes turns off the thermostat. This is Aqara’s example, not a universal recommendation: the actual action depends on the presence device, automation setup and heating needs in your home.

The E1 product page lists Aqara Home geofencing and weather automations; Aqara describes geofencing as starting heat before arrival. These are E1 features documented by Aqara and should not be assumed to be available in the same way on every model or platform.
What happens when the thermostat detects an open window?
On the W600, open-window behavior applies when the feature is enabled. Aqara’s manual describes two detection modes:
Rank #4
- [Matter Compatibility with Zigbee & Thread] The W100 supports both Zigbee and Thread protocols, ensuring seamless integration with major smart home ecosystems like Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, Home Assistant and Homey. Future-proof your home automation setup with broad compatibility and enhanced flexibility (*Thread mode:a Matter Controller of this ecosystem and a Thread Border Router are required;Zigbee mode: Aqara Zigbee hub required*)

Ideal for maintaining comfort, monitoring storage conditions, or supporting indoor gardening and greenhouse environments
- [External Sensor Integration & Secondary Area Display] The W100 can connect to an Aqara temperature and humidity sensor to display additional data in the Secondary screen area. If no external sensor is connected, the Secondary screen defaults to the local weather report for temperature and humidity info. (Please note: Linking with an Aqara temperature and humidity sensor and enabling the Secondary screen display are only available through the Aqara Home app on Zigbee mode when connected to an Aqara hub
- [Remote HVAC Control Integration] The W100 supports pairing with a third-party IR air-conditioner via Aqara Hub M3, allowing wireless remote control of the HVAC system.(Only zigbee mode) You can adjust temperature, mode, and other settings directly on the device, optimizing comfort and energy efficiency without needing to access the HVAC device physically. This feature adds convenience and ensures a comfortable living environment
- Without a linked door/window sensor: a temperature drop of 3°C within five minutes pauses heating for 30 minutes.
- With a linked door/window sensor: detecting an open door or window for more than three minutes pauses heating for 30 minutes.
The manual says normal control can resume after the pause and that window detection can be deactivated on the device. Check which detection mode you have enabled; the product page describes the temperature-drop trigger differently in brief, so the two trigger descriptions should not be combined into one rule.

Can I control a W600 schedule from Matter?
The W600 manual describes setup through a Matter-compatible app and a Thread border router: scan the Matter QR code on the product or manual, or enter the setup code. It also describes first adding the thermostat to Aqara Home, choosing “Matter Ecosystem” in settings and following the prompts. Matter platforms may expose different controls; device-specific actions are available only on platforms that support the documented device types. Do not expect every third-party app to offer the same schedule editor or automation options as Aqara Home.

How do sensors and frost protection affect schedules?
External temperature sensors
Aqara documents external room-temperature sensor linking for both the E1 and W600 families. The W600 product page specifies that this feature requires Zigbee mode through Aqara Home. For the E1, Aqara names its Temperature and Humidity Sensor or TVOC Air Quality Monitor as optional sensor sources and notes that the additional device is required. A sensor is not required for a basic temperature schedule.
Frost protection on the W600
The W600 manual says frost protection starts heating when its built-in sensor detects 5°C or lower and stops frost protection above 8°C. In Zigbee mode, the setting can be adjusted from 5°C to 15°C; in Thread mode, it defaults to 5°C and cannot be adjusted. This describes device behavior, not a substitute for local plumbing or heating advice.
