To set a Google Flights price alert, search your holiday route and dates, then turn on Track prices. Track the route for your chosen dates if your plans are fixed; choose Any dates if you can shift your travel dates. To follow one particular itinerary, select that flight first and then turn on tracking.
Set an alert for a route or a specific flight
Google Flights offers two kinds of tracking: a route search, which follows prices for your origin, destination and selected dates (or flexible dates), and tracking for a selected flight itinerary. Google’s official instructions are for desktop and Android; labels or control placement can vary by device.
Track a route on a computer
- Open Google Flights and enter your departure airport, destination, dates and trip details, such as the number of tickets, cabin class and stops.
- Choose whether to track the searched dates or, if your dates are flexible, select Any dates.
- Turn on Track prices. Google says that when the price for a tracked flight or route changes significantly, you can get email updates.
Track a specific itinerary
Search for flights and select the flight or flights you want to follow. Then turn on Track prices. This tracks the selected itinerary rather than monitoring the route across a range of dates.

Track prices on Android
In the Google Flights experience on Android, enter your route, choose dates and tap Track prices. To follow one specific flight, select it before turning on tracking. Google’s Android help describes both email and mobile notifications.

Choose fixed dates or Any dates

Any dates is not limited to the holiday week you first had in mind: it watches the route across dates. If you are still deciding when to travel, Google Flights’ calendar and price graph can help compare fares by date, week or month. Its flexible-date calendar shows the lowest fares within a 30-day period and includes trip-duration choices for travelers who can vary how long they stay. Manage alerts and notifications
Open Tracked Flights on a computer, or Tracked flights on mobile, to review saved routes and flights. Google says you can switch tracking emails on or off and remove a saved route or flight from there. If an alert is no longer relevant, remove that tracking rather than relying on it to expire.

Understand what a price alert does—and does not—tell you
A price alert is a monitoring tool, not a promise that a fare will fall or that a particular price is the best you will see. Google may also notify you when a tracked route’s prices are likely to rise, or when a flight’s current fare is due to expire and the replacement fare is likely to cost more. Those notifications include an estimate and Google’s confidence in it.
Google says fare predictions are based on analysis of past price trends, and future prices may not follow those trends. An alert therefore does not establish a booking deadline or guarantee savings. Use it as one input alongside your schedule and the fare’s full terms.

Check the full itinerary before booking
A lower headline fare may not be the better holiday trip. Google’s guidance distinguishes results that balance price, convenience and ease of booking from cheaper options that can carry trade-offs. Compare the total trip and booking terms before you act on an alert.
- Price and fees: Google says displayed transport prices include taxes such as VAT/GST and airport taxes, but baggage and other fees may apply and vary by seller.
- Time and airports: Compare trip duration, number of stops and any airport changes, not just the fare.
- Separate tickets and self-transfer: These can mean separate change fees, baggage recheck, more connection time and exposure if a missed connection disrupts the next ticket.
- Seller and final terms: Google often sends travelers to an airline or online travel agency to book. Confirm the final price and conditions with that provider before paying.
Google says its flight search allows booking through more than 300 airline and online travel agency partners; that is Google’s stated partner coverage, not a guarantee that every airline or itinerary will be available for your route.
