You can build a recurring screenshot workflow in Make by pairing a documented screenshot module with a destination for its image output, then configuring the scenario’s recurrence using Make’s current scheduling controls. Make lists an HTML/CSS to Image action called “Create a Screenshot of a URL”; its integration listing also documents HTTP actions for requests, file downloads, and URL resolution. Make does not document the complete scenario mapping or current scheduling limits in the cited pages, so confirm the module’s output fields and your account’s schedule options before relying on a particular setup.

Choose a screenshot route in Make

Make documents two possible routes for capturing a web page. The appropriate one depends on the kind of capture you need and whether you want to connect a separate screenshot service.

Route What the documentation establishes What to verify before building
HTML/CSS to Image integration Make lists “Create a Screenshot of a URL,” described as taking a screenshot of any website. The same integration listing includes HTTP actions such as “Download a file,” “Make a request,” and “Resolve URL.” Make integration listing Check the action’s current connection requirements, available settings, output fields, and whether its output is an image file or a URL you must fetch.
GetScreenshot app Make’s app documentation lists full-page and element screenshot modules, plus email variants. It requires an active GetScreenshot account and API key. GetScreenshot documentation Confirm the current module inputs, output fields, service pricing and limits directly in Make and GetScreenshot before mapping or budgeting the scenario.

The cited product pages do not establish comparative pricing, quotas, capture fidelity, or service-level guarantees. Do not assume those are equivalent between the routes.

Build the scenario conceptually

  1. Select the target page. Add the exact public URL you are authorized to capture. If the page depends on sign-in or access controls, do not attempt to bypass them; use only an authorized method.
  2. Add a documented screenshot action. In Make, look for “Create a Screenshot of a URL” in the HTML/CSS to Image integration, or choose an appropriate full-page or element action from GetScreenshot. For GetScreenshot, connect an active account using its API key as described in the app documentation.
  3. Inspect the action’s output. Run a manual test and check the actual output fields in Make. The available documentation confirms the screenshot actions but does not specify a full field-by-field mapping. Determine whether the next module should receive image data, a file, or a URL; do not map based on an assumed output name.
  4. Route the result to your destination. Add a storage or delivery module supported by your account and destination. If the screenshot action returns a URL rather than a downloadable file, Make’s HTTP integration listing includes “Download a file.” Confirm the data format and mapping in the current module interface before using it.
  5. Test the end-to-end flow manually. Check that the image shows the intended page, that the output reaches the chosen destination, and that a failed capture does not silently appear as a valid screenshot.
  6. Set the recurrence only after checking current controls. Configure the scenario to run at the interval you need using the scheduling controls currently shown in your Make account. The cited pages do not establish exact schedule steps, available intervals, timezone behavior, plan limits, or delivery guarantees; verify each in current Make documentation and your account before depending on a specific schedule.

Check permission and capture frequency

India’s Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) cover government websites and apps at central, state, district, and local levels. Their stated aims include usability, user-centricity, accessibility, security, consistency, and uniformity. GIGW scope and objective The guidance also discusses accessibility, WCAG 2.1, and the role of website terms and conditions. GIGW focus areas

These guidelines do not grant blanket permission for third-party automated screenshots. Before scheduling a capture, review the target site’s own terms and relevant access instructions. No universal permitted capture rate is established by the cited sources, so avoid frequent or disruptive polling and respect authentication, rate limits, and other access controls. Make’s Terms & Conditions are also relevant to your use of the platform.

Troubleshoot a scheduled screenshot workflow

  • The screenshot module does not appear or cannot connect: Reopen the current Make integration listing and connection prompts. If using GetScreenshot, confirm that the service account is active and that the API key is valid.
  • The destination receives no usable image: Inspect the screenshot module’s actual output from a manual run. If it provides a URL, use an appropriate download step, such as Make’s documented “Download a file” HTTP action, and map the downloaded file output to the destination.
  • The screenshot is of the wrong content or only part of the page: Verify the target URL and whether the selected module captures a full page or a specific element. The GetScreenshot documentation lists both types; check the selected module’s current options and output.
  • The scheduled run does not happen when expected: Check the scenario’s current scheduling configuration, timezone selection if available, enabled state, and account limits in Make. Exact settings and plan behavior are not established by the cited pages.
  • A government site blocks or changes the result: Do not try to evade access controls. Recheck the site’s terms and access instructions, reduce unnecessary requests, and use an authorized access method if one is available.
