For hundreds of Google queries, use a queue-based browser workflow rather than taking screenshots one at a time. Keep a stable record linking each exact query to its screenshot, capture time, device, and search location or locale. The Chrome Web Store listing for SERPshot advertises a query queue and full-page captures; verify that it is currently available and works as expected, then test a small batch before relying on a large run.
Choose the right kind of capture
First decide whether you need public Google results pages for a keyword list or a rendering of a page you own. Those are different jobs.
- Public results for many queries: A bulk-capable browser workflow is the direct fit. SERPshot’s Chrome Web Store listing describes a pasted-query queue for capturing Google results pages.
- How Google renders your own page: Search Console’s URL Inspection tool can show a screenshot of how Google-InspectionTool sees a URL during a successful live test. Google says screenshots are available only for successful live tests—not for indexed URLs or unsuccessful fetches—and live inspections have a per-property daily limit. The help page does not state a numeric quota.
- Query and performance analysis: Search Console bulk data export sends performance data to BigQuery. It can support analysis, but it does not create screenshots.
For a large archive of public SERPs, do not substitute URL Inspection or BigQuery export for a queue that opens the actual search results pages.

Define what the image must show
Choose between the initially visible viewport and a full-page capture. A viewport shot is quicker to inspect and compare, but it omits lower results and features. A full-page image can preserve more of the results page, though it may be very tall; check a sample for lazy-loaded or missing content before using that mode across the whole list.

Fix the search context
Before capturing, decide which Google domain or country, language, desktop or mobile viewport, and login or personalization conditions matter. Search results can differ by location, device, and personalization. Use consistent settings for comparisons and record them with the files; a screenshot is evidence of one rendered moment, not a durable or universal ranking measurement.
Prepare the keyword list
- Put one exact query on each row and remove accidental duplicates or blank lines.
- Assign a stable ID if wording may recur across projects or batches.
- Keep the source list unchanged so you can reconcile the planned query count with the saved images.
Run the browser queue and verify the output
SERPshot’s Chrome Web Store listing describes this workflow: install the extension, optionally configure brand or domain settings, open a results page, and use the queue section to run queries. The listing advertises configurable delays with jitter, queue resumption, full-page Google and Bing captures, local screenshot saving, CSV export, and capture metadata. These are vendor listing claims, not independent verification of current behavior. Check the extension’s current availability and test its output before scaling up.

- Install the extension from its current Chrome Web Store listing, if available.
- Configure optional brand or domain settings if they fit your use case.
- Open a Google results page and find the extension’s queue section.
- Paste a small pilot list first. Confirm the selected country/domain, language, viewport, and full-page or viewport mode.
- Run the pilot and check that each intended query produced an image and that filenames or exported metadata can be matched to the exact queries.
- Only after the pilot passes, run the larger queue. If interrupted, use the advertised resume behavior if it is present in the current version, then reconcile saved output against the full list.
A configurable delay is not proof of a universally safe request rate and cannot guarantee avoidance of bot checks or CAPTCHAs. Do not treat a delay setting as a promise that a batch will complete uninterrupted.

- Stable query ID and exact query text
- Capture date, time, and timezone
- Device or viewport profile
- Google domain/country and language, plus location where relevant
- Search URL and image filename
The SERPshot listing advertises CSV export and capture metadata; inspect actual exports rather than assuming every field is present or correct. Keep original images unchanged when they serve as evidence. Save crops, annotations, or other edits as clearly marked derivatives.
Check for missing or misleading captures
- Compare the number of planned queries with saved images and exported rows; investigate gaps rather than assuming a completed queue means a complete archive.
- Open representative images from the beginning, middle, and end of the run. Check that the query and intended search context are right and that the page is not blank, incomplete, or blocked.
- For full-page captures, inspect whether lower content and lazy-loaded results appear as expected.
- When comparing runs, match the device, locale, timing conventions, and other context as closely as practical. Differences may reflect those conditions rather than a lasting ranking change.
- If the queue stops or files are missing, preserve the output already saved, identify the unaccounted queries from the manifest, and rerun only what is missing where the tool allows it.
Use Google Search screenshots in print carefully
Google’s Brand Resource Center says, “You don’t need to ask permission to use screenshots of the Google Search page and search results pages in print for educational or instructional purposes.” That guidance is limited to the stated print, educational, or instructional context and is conditioned on Google’s trademark rules and its other guidance. It calls for realistic, positive or neutral presentation and says not to alter the interface or manufacture, remove, or alter autocomplete terms or results. Do not treat this statement as blanket permission for other uses; consult current Google guidance and applicable rights requirements.
