To screenshot a Google featured snippet or a People also ask answer, search for the query, expand the relevant People also ask question if needed, then capture the visible result. If the answer extends below the screen, use a supported full-page or scrolling capture; otherwise, take consecutive screenshots as you scroll.
Featured snippets vs. People also ask
A featured snippet is an answer box Google may show in search results. Google says its systems select snippets based on whether a page is useful for the query. People also ask is a group of related questions; when you expand a question, the answer shown is a featured snippet. Google Search Central explains featured snippets, and its visual elements gallery groups People also ask under exploration features.
Capture the result in five steps
- Search Google for the query that produces the result you want to save.
- If the answer is inside People also ask, select the relevant question to expand it.
- Choose whether the visible screen is enough or whether you need content farther down the page.
- Capture the screen, use a full-page or scrolling option where supported, or take consecutive screenshots while scrolling.
- Check that the question, answer, source attribution, and enough surrounding search-page context are visible.
The final check is a practical way to make the saved image useful; it is not a Google requirement.
Capture options by device
Windows
For a visible portion of the results, Windows Snipping Tool offers freeform, rectangular, window, and full-screen captures. Press Windows+Shift+S to open the snipping overlay. Pressing Print Screen takes a full-screen snapshot to the clipboard. For content below the visible screen, Microsoft Edge has a separate full-page webpage capture feature. Use Snipping Tool for a single visible answer or the whole current screen, and Edge’s full-page option when you need a longer webpage capture. iPhone
On Face ID models, press the Side and Volume Up buttons together. On models with a Home button, press the Side and Home buttons together. For supported webpage content in Safari, tap Full Page in the screenshot view to capture beyond the screen, then crop and save as an image or PDF. This option is content-specific; it is not available in every app or Google Search view. See Apple’s iPhone screenshot instructions.
Android
Google documents scrolling screenshots on Android 12 and later for most screens that allow scrolling. Availability and the exact steps can vary by device. Other desktop browsers
Capture controls and full-page support vary by browser, and there is no universal full-page shortcut to rely on. Use the browser’s current built-in capture feature if available. Otherwise, take consecutive screenshots while scrolling and keep them in order.

Choose a capture that suits the record you need
- One answer: Capture a region or window to limit unrelated on-screen content.
- Search context: Include the query and enough of the results page to identify what you saved.
- Content below the screen: Use a full-page or scrolling capture when your device, app, or browser supports it. A long image may be cumbersome to read; where the option exists, a PDF can be easier to archive. Apple’s supported Safari full-page capture can be saved as an image or PDF.
- No full-page option: Scroll and capture successive sections, preserving their order so the answer remains readable.
Support is not universal: Microsoft documents full-page capture in Edge, Apple documents it for supported webpage content in Safari, and Google says Android scrolling screenshots work on most scrollable screens from Android 12 onward. Search layouts and software controls can change, so check the controls on your current device.
