To screenshot a website on a Samsung Galaxy, open the page and press the Power/Side and Volume Down buttons together, then release them. For a full or long webpage, tap Scroll capture (the icon with two downward arrows) in the screenshot toolbar to extend the image down the page. Samsung says the finished image is saved in Gallery > Albums > Screenshots. Menu names and availability can vary by Galaxy model, carrier and software version.
Choose the right kind of website screenshot

Scroll capture is designed for scrollable content such as web pages and articles. It cannot guarantee one image for an arbitrarily long or unusual page: the final length depends on the page structure, loading behavior and your device software.
Take a normal screenshot of the visible webpage
- Open the page. Launch your browser, go to the website and scroll until the section you want is visible. Samsung documents this procedure for Galaxy phones and tablets in its screenshot support guide.
- Press both buttons at once. Briefly press the Power (also called the Side) button and Volume Down simultaneously, then release. Holding them too long can open the power menu or change the volume instead of taking the screenshot.
- Wait for the preview and toolbar. A thumbnail and screenshot controls normally appear along the bottom or side of the display. From there you can edit, crop, draw, share or delete the image.
- Find the file. Open Gallery, choose Albums, then open Screenshots. Samsung’s regional instructions also identify Gallery as the save location.
If your Galaxy uses different button names, use the physical key marked Side or Power. The combination is the same on supported Galaxy phones and tablets, but exact on-screen controls differ by One UI version.
Capture a full or scrolling webpage
- Open the webpage and position it at the point where the capture should begin. Scroll capture starts from the current screenshot, so place the top of the desired section near the top of the display.
- Press Power/Side + Volume Down and release immediately.
- When the toolbar appears, tap Scroll capture, shown as two downward arrows. Samsung describes the screen as scrolling automatically while additional content is added to the same image.
- Tap the icon again to extend the image farther. On devices that support it, pressing and holding the icon continues scrolling while you hold it. Stop when the required section is included; do not assume the control will capture an unlimited page.
- Tap outside the toolbar or use the finish control. The resulting long image is saved in Gallery > Albums > Screenshots.
Images that load only after scrolling, fixed navigation bars, embedded frames and pages that change layout can affect where the capture ends or create seams. If the page stops extending, finish the first image and capture the remaining section separately.

Turn on the screenshot toolbar if it is missing
- Open Settings.
- Tap Advanced features.
- Open Screenshots and screen recorder. Some Galaxy models that do not include screen recording show a shorter label such as Screen capture.
- Enable Show toolbar after capturing.
Samsung documents this path and notes that labels vary by model and software version in its Scroll Capture instructions. Take another screenshot after changing the setting; the toolbar appears only after a new capture.
Other Galaxy capture methods
Palm swipe
Some Galaxy devices can capture the screen when you swipe the edge of your hand across it. Open Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures and look for Palm swipe to capture. The option is not present on every phone or tablet, so the button method remains the dependable fallback. Palm swipe creates a regular visible-screen screenshot; use the toolbar’s Scroll capture control afterward when it is available.
S Pen and Screen write
Compatible Galaxy devices with an S Pen may offer Screen write in the Air command menu. It captures the current screen and opens annotation tools. It is optional and does not make an S Pen necessary for a scrolling webpage screenshot.

Why Scroll capture may not work
The page does not scroll
Scroll capture extends a screenshot by moving through scrollable content. A static landing screen, a viewer with no page scroll or an element that scrolls inside a frame may not provide usable additional content. Try placing the cursor outside the inner frame, or capture the frame in separate images.
The toolbar never appears
Enable Show toolbar after capturing under Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder (or Screen capture). Then repeat the Power/Side + Volume Down capture. A software update, restricted work profile or model-specific interface can also change the control location.
The Scroll capture icon is unavailable
Samsung says availability differs by phone or tablet model, carrier and software version. Confirm that the browser page is scrollable and that you took a fresh screenshot rather than opening an older image from Gallery. Some protected apps and screens intentionally block screenshots for privacy or security; a website opened inside such a protected view may not allow capture.

The long image stops early or looks incomplete
Content length varies with the page. Images may still be loading, a script may replace content while the page moves, or the browser may reach a protected boundary. Wait for the page to finish loading, start closer to the top of the article, and tap Scroll capture again. For very long pages, save multiple overlapping captures so no section is lost.
The result contains a popup or cookie banner
Galaxy’s built-in tool captures what is displayed. Dismiss consent dialogs, newsletter prompts and chat bubbles before taking the screenshot. If a banner returns on every load, capture after accepting or closing it, where the site’s controls permit.

Use the toolbar immediately after capture to crop private information, draw on the image, add text or share it. You can also open the file later in Gallery and use the edit and share buttons. Before posting a screenshot, check for account names, email addresses, order numbers, location data and browser tabs. A scrolling screenshot is one tall bitmap, so some apps may resize it when you attach it; send the original file from Gallery when legibility matters.
Privacy and protected-content limits
Do not treat a screenshot as a way around access controls. Banking apps, streaming services, secure work profiles and other protected screens can disable screenshots or return a blank result. Respect the website’s terms and remove personal data before sharing. Samsung’s support material specifically qualifies screenshot availability by app security, model, carrier and software version.
