On a Google Pixel, open the webpage, place the content you want on screen, then press Power and Volume down together. A preview appears immediately. For a long page, tap Capture more, then drag the crop handles to include the rest of the article or page. Google documents scrolling screenshots as available on Android 12 and newer on most screens that allow scrolling.
Take a normal website screenshot on Pixel
- Open Chrome or your preferred browser and load the website.
- Scroll until the content you need is visible. Close menus, keyboards, or overlays that you do not want in the image.
- Press the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time. Pressing one noticeably earlier can change the result (for example, opening the power menu or changing volume).
- Wait for the preview thumbnail and controls to appear. Tap the thumbnail to edit or share immediately, or leave it to save automatically.
This creates a still image of the visible screen, including the browser interface if it is currently visible. Hide the address bar or enter full-screen mode first if you need a cleaner capture.
How to take a full-page screenshot on Pixel
A full-page, or scrolling, screenshot joins more of a scrollable page into one image rather than capturing only the visible viewport.
- Take a regular screenshot with Power + Volume down.
- In the controls below the first image, tap Capture more.
- Drag the top and bottom crop guides. Extend the bottom guide until the section you need is included.
- Tap Save (or the equivalent confirmation control shown on your Pixel). The longer image is saved with your screenshots.
Google states that this workflow works on Android 12 and newer on most screens that allow you to scroll. It is not guaranteed for every browser view, embedded document, protected app, or page whose content is not exposed as a normal scrollable surface. If Capture more is missing, make a normal screenshot, verify the Android version, and try again after the page has finished loading.

Why a “full website” may not fit in one capture
- Scrolling screenshots follow the screen’s scroll container. A page with an inner panel, modal, or unusual virtualized layout may not expose the whole document.
- Lazy-loaded images can appear only after you scroll. Move through the page first if important images are blank in the extended capture.
- Very long pages can produce a large file. Capture only the section needed, or take several logically named images.
- Fixed headers, cookie notices, and chat bubbles can be repeated or obscure content. Dismiss them before the first screenshot when possible.
Alternative ways to screenshot on a Pixel
Use Google Assistant
Say, Hey Google, take a screenshot.
Assistant captures the current screen without requiring both physical buttons. This is useful when the phone is mounted, when a case makes the buttons difficult to press, or when you are holding the device with one hand.
Use the recent-apps screen
The exact control depends on your navigation mode:
- Gesture navigation: Swipe up from the bottom and hold to open recent apps, select the browser, then tap Screenshot.
- Three-button navigation: Tap Overview, select the browser, then tap Screenshot.
- Two-button navigation on Pixel 3a and earlier: Press the Power button, then tap Screenshot.
These routes capture the selected app’s current view. They do not automatically replace the scrolling workflow; use Capture more afterward when it is offered.

- Open Settings > System > Gestures > Quick tap.
- Turn on Use Quick tap.
- Choose the screenshot action.
- Double-tap the back of the phone while the webpage is displayed.
Quick Tap is convenient for one-handed use, but accidental taps are possible. If it triggers unexpectedly, return to the same setting and choose a different action or turn it off.

Where Pixel screenshots are saved
- Open Google Photos.
- Tap Collections.
- Choose On this device.
- Open Screenshots.
Open an image to use Share for messaging, email, or another app. Choose Edit to crop, mark up, rotate, or adjust it. The preview shown immediately after capture is also a shortcut to these actions.

Google’s screen-recording feature lets you select a single app or the entire screen and choose audio options. A recording is the better evidence format when a page interaction, animation, or spoken explanation matters; it is not a substitute for a crisp still image.

Troubleshooting Pixel website screenshots
Capture more does not appear
Confirm the phone is running Android 12 or newer, take the screenshot after the page has loaded, and check that the current view can scroll. Some screens simply do not support scrolling capture. Use several normal screenshots when the control remains unavailable.
The screenshot shows the wrong area
Scroll to the exact starting position before pressing the buttons. Dismiss the keyboard and overlays, and wait for sticky banners or animations to settle. For a long capture, adjust both crop guides before saving.
The buttons are hard to press together
Use Assistant, recent apps, or Quick Tap. Navigation mode changes which recent-apps path appears, while labels can vary slightly by Android version, language, and device form factor.
The image is missing from Photos
Wait for the capture preview to finish saving, then browse Google Photos > Collections > On this device > Screenshots. If you edited a copy in another app, check that app’s export folder as well.

A web page is blank or incomplete
Reload on a stable connection, allow the page to finish loading, and try again. Private or protected content may require sign-in and may restrict capture. For automation, inspect the returned ScreenshotNeo verdict and billing headers so a failed load is distinguishable from a successful billed image.
Practical checklist
- Decide whether you need a still image, a scrolling image, or a video.
- Close consent banners, chat widgets, and popups before a phone capture.
- Use Power + Volume down for the standard shortcut.
- Tap Capture more only when the page is a supported scrollable surface.
- Find saved files in Google Photos under Collections > On this device > Screenshots.
- Crop or mark up sensitive information before sharing.
- For repeatable or large-scale captures, use an API and check its success and billing status.

No. Pixel’s Capture more workflow creates a longer image. Choose Screen record for video; use a dedicated PDF capture workflow when a document file is required.
Can I capture a page that requires a login?
A phone can capture what is visible after you sign in, subject to the app or site’s restrictions. Do not share screenshots containing passwords, payment details, or private account data.
