Use Playwright’s Python screenshot API to save a webpage as an image, and set the browser context locale to mr-IN if the page should behave as though it is being viewed in Marathi (India). Locale emulation affects language headers and locale-sensitive formatting; it does not install Devanagari fonts or guarantee that Marathi text will render correctly.
Install Playwright and its browser
Install the Python package, then install the Chromium browser that Playwright will launch:
python -m pip install playwrightpython -m playwright install chromium
Run these commands in the same Python environment where you will execute the script. Playwright launches browsers headlessly by default, so a visible browser window is not required.
Capture a webpage with Marathi locale settings
This synchronous example creates a browser context with the mr-IN locale, opens a page, waits for its load event, and saves a full-page PNG. Replace the example URL with the page you want to capture.

browser.close()page.screenshot(path="screenshot.png") captures the current viewport; adding full_page=True captures the full scrollable page. The locale setting affects navigator.language, the Accept-Language request header, and number and date formatting on the page. A website may still choose its language independently, so locale emulation does not ensure that its text will be Marathi.
Choose the capture scope and output
Viewport or full page
Use the default screenshot for only the currently visible viewport. Use full_page=True when you need the page from top to bottom in one image. A full-page capture can be much taller than the viewport, particularly on long pages.
One element
To save just one element, use a locator screenshot. The locator must match an element on the loaded page:

File or bytes
Providing path writes the screenshot to a file. Playwright can also return screenshot bytes for use in memory instead of saving directly to disk:
image_bytes = page.screenshot(full_page=True)The screenshot API supports image output options and controls such as output scale. Choose a file when you need a saved artifact, or bytes when another part of your program will process or transmit the image.

Use the asynchronous Python API
If the surrounding application already uses asyncio, use Playwright’s async API rather than mixing synchronous calls into an asynchronous workflow:

Marathi text appears as boxes or has incorrect shaping
The locale option controls browser language behavior, not font installation. Check that the browser’s operating-system environment has a font with Devanagari coverage, and confirm that the page’s own CSS and font resources load successfully. Available fonts and platform-specific remedies depend on the machine or container running Chromium.

The page is in the wrong language
Confirm that the browser context was created with locale="mr-IN" before creating the page. This sets the browser’s language-related context, but the site can still select a language based on its own settings, account preferences, or content rules.

The image cuts off content
If the capture contains only what was visible in the browser window, add full_page=True. To capture a particular section rather than the whole page, use a locator screenshot with a selector that targets that element.
The script cannot launch Chromium
Install Playwright’s browser binaries in the same environment used to run the script with python -m playwright install chromium. If you use a virtual environment, activate it before running both installation commands and the script.
