To get a thumbnail of a publicly reachable Shopify store with PagePeeker, pass the storefront URL to PagePeeker’s V2 thumbs.php endpoint with a supported size, URL-encoding the target URL. This is a PagePeeker web-service workflow—not a button or integration documented in Shopify admin. The reviewed PagePeeker materials do not establish that captures come from India, so do not treat the result as proof of what an India-based customer sees.

Get a PagePeeker thumbnail of a public Shopify page

  1. Copy the public URL of the Shopify storefront or the specific public page you want to capture.
  2. Choose a supported thumbnail size: t (90 × 68 px), s (120 × 90 px), m (200 × 150 px), l (400 × 300 px), or x (480 × 360 px). PagePeeker says premium accounts may have additional sizes. These dimensions are listed in its V2 API documentation, accessed October 3, 2026.
  3. Construct the V2 request using the applicable PagePeeker entrypoint and account setup. Its documented form is http://{entrypoint}.pagepeeker.com/v2/thumbs.php?size={size}&code={code}&refresh={refresh}&wait={wait}&url={url}. Replace the brace-delimited values with the values that apply to your account, and URL-encode the target URL. Do not expose your account code publicly.
  4. Open or request the URL and inspect the returned thumbnail and response diagnostics. PagePeeker documents response headers for paid and unbranded accounts that can report capture method, capture time, final redirected URL, capture timestamp, and error status.

The endpoint example includes optional refresh and wait parameters. PagePeeker identifies these as premium options; wait can delay the response while generation completes rather than returning a placeholder. For automated or server-side use, PagePeeker describes requesting or refreshing a thumbnail, polling thumbs_ready.php, then retrieving the thumbnail. Check the current API documentation and your account terms for exact parameter values and readiness-response handling.

Make sure the Shopify target is publicly viewable

Use a URL that a visitor can open without signing in. Shopify’s Storefront API Page object documentation says onlineStoreUrl may be null when a page is not published to the Online Store sales channel. A public URL is the appropriate target for this basic thumbnail workflow.

The reviewed sources do not establish that PagePeeker can capture authenticated, password-protected, or unpublished Shopify pages. If the page is unavailable to ordinary visitors, first confirm its publication and storefront accessibility rather than assuming the thumbnail service can bypass access controls.

Choose between PagePeeker’s listed free and paid plans

The figures below are PagePeeker’s own listed terms, not independent performance tests. They were accessed October 3, 2026; plans, quotas, caching and prices can change, so verify the linked pages before choosing.

Option Branding or link-back Calls listed Size and caching Typical rendering time listed
Free branded Branded No monthly call limit stated Up to 480 × 360 px; 20-day caching 30–60 seconds
Free unbranded Requires a link back 100,000 calls/month Up to 480 × 360 px; 20-day caching 10–20 seconds

Advanced Consult current plan terms 1,000,000 calls/month 5-day caching 5–15 seconds

PagePeeker’s free-plan page lists the free-tier figures above. Its pricing page lists Basic at $5.99/month, Advanced at $39.99/month, and custom pricing for Premium, alongside the plan limits shown. The pricing page also marks functions such as own branding, larger sizes, mobile or tablet captures, and full-length screenshots by plan; confirm that the plan you select includes the specific capture type you need.

What an India-based seller should and should not infer

A screenshot of your store is not necessarily the view an Indian shopper gets. The reviewed PagePeeker API and robot-policy pages describe fetching and thumbnail generation but do not document an India-based capture location, geographic targeting, or a location override. If prices, availability, banners, or other storefront content vary by country, inspect the returned image and separately verify PagePeeker’s current location capabilities before relying on it for a localized customer view.

PagePeeker’s robot policy says a site owner can block its crawler using a robots.txt rule with User-agent: PagePeeker and Disallow: /. The page also states a 5–7 day interval between attempts to fetch a page from a site. That is the vendor’s stated robot policy, not a guarantee about every capture or the cache lifetime of a particular plan.

Or skip the browser setup

If you need a screenshot API instead of constructing PagePeeker’s thumbnail URL, ScreenshotNeo is a developer-focused option: one GET request returns a screenshot or PDF. Its documented endpoint and parameters are at ScreenshotNeo’s API documentation.

For example, this cURL request saves a WebP screenshot of the public Shopify storefront URL you supply:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://your-store.myshopify.com -o shopify-store.webp

ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners before capture and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a PagePeeker button in Shopify admin?

The reviewed documentation describes direct thumbnail links and API requests, not a dedicated Shopify integration or an admin button.

Does PagePeeker’s screenshot show what shoppers in India see?

That is not established by the reviewed documentation. It does not document capture geography or a location override, so verify location behavior separately if the page varies by market.

Which PagePeeker API version should I use?

PagePeeker recommends V2; its legacy V1 is discontinued and redirects to V2.
