YouTube’s documented tools do not provide a native rule that automatically starts a different playlist livestream each weekday. The dependable YouTube workflow is to organize devotional videos into playlists, schedule a separate Live event for each weekday, and start that event’s feed with an encoder or another supported production setup at the appointed time.

What YouTube scheduling does—and does not—automate

A scheduled YouTube Live event creates an upcoming livestream event and watch page; it is not a recurring playlist scheduler. YouTube’s documented workflow does not describe a weekly rule that selects a different playlist by weekday. A playlist organizes videos and their order, but it does not itself send those videos as the live feed. That feed must come from an encoder or another supported production workflow. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance explains how to connect a stream URL and key, start the encoder, and then go live in Live Control Room.

For a native YouTube setup, create an event for each weekday and start the correct feed yourself at the planned time. The steps below follow the YouTube Help documentation available on October 3, 2026; labels may change.

Plan a weekday devotional schedule

Before creating events, write down the weekday, start time and time zone, stream title or devotional theme, song sequence, and the person responsible for starting the stream. For an audience in India, state the chosen Indian local time clearly in the channel’s announcements; viewers elsewhere can convert it to their own time zone. Pick a cadence you can maintain, keep the time consistent where possible, and communicate any changes. YouTube’s live upload-schedule tips recommend introducing the schedule and communicating changes to fans.

Organize the devotional videos into playlists

  1. In YouTube Studio, create a playlist for each weekday or devotional theme. Give each playlist a clear title and description so the intended sequence is easy to identify.

  2. Add the videos you plan to use, choose their visibility, and arrange them in the desired order. You can change playlist order by dragging videos. See YouTube’s playlist instructions for the current controls.

  3. Prepare the live output separately. The playlist is an organizational aid; it does not turn its videos into a live feed. Configure the encoder or other supported production workflow to send the intended devotional content.

Schedule one Live event for each weekday

  1. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live to open Live Control Room.

  2. Choose Manage → Schedule stream. Create a new event or reuse settings from a previous event, then check its title, description, privacy, and scheduled date and time. YouTube’s live streaming instructions cover scheduling and encoder setup.

  3. Repeat for each weekday. Reusing settings copies prior metadata, settings, and stream key; review the details rather than assuming they match the new event. Treat the stream key as a credential: use the key associated with the event and do not share it publicly.

  4. Check the upcoming event page after scheduling. Viewers may be able to visit it in advance and select Notify me for a reminder. Share the correct event page with your audience, and update your communications if the time or event changes. See YouTube’s guidance on promoting live streams.

Start the right feed at the scheduled time

  1. Open the scheduled event in Live Control Room and connect your encoder using that event’s stream URL and stream key.

  2. Start the encoder and confirm that the preview appears in Live Control Room.

  3. Select Go live in Live Control Room when the feed is ready. Scheduling the event alone does not start an encoder or play the planned audio.

  4. Monitor the stream and confirm that the intended playlist sequence is being sent. The day’s event, encoder output, and playlist should all correspond to the same weekday.

Check music rights before streaming

You are responsible for having the necessary rights to use the compositions and sound recordings in a livestream. YouTube’s live-streaming terms place responsibility for necessary music licensing rights on the provider. YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams explains that detected third-party content can cause a placeholder to replace the stream; if the content continues, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the broadcast. Even if you have permission, a rights holder may need to add your channel to its allowlist. Verify permissions and any allowlisting requirements before going live.

Plan for recordings and long sessions

YouTube can automatically archive livestreams shorter than 12 hours. Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured, so keep a local recording as a backup for longer devotional programs. See YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance.

Choose between separate events and external automation

Approach What it does What you need to manage
Separate scheduled YouTube events Uses YouTube’s documented scheduling workflow and gives each scheduled event its own upcoming watch page. Create and review each weekday event, then start its feed at the planned time. Viewers can find the event page and may choose Notify me.
External or always-on production workflow May reduce manual starts if separately configured to send the correct content on schedule. Configure and maintain the external system, verify how it handles weekday changes, and confirm its behavior independently. YouTube’s reviewed guidance does not establish a native weekday-playlist automation feature or endorse a particular external service.
Playlists Organize published videos and their order for reuse. They do not themselves schedule an event or provide the livestream feed; prepare that output in an encoder or other supported production workflow.

Troubleshoot common scheduling problems

  • The event is scheduled, but no video or audio is live. Scheduling creates the event, not the feed. Connect and start the encoder with the event’s stream URL and key, wait for the preview, and then select Go live.

  • The wrong day’s songs are playing. Match the event, encoder output, and intended playlist before starting. A YouTube playlist does not automatically control the live feed.

  • The stream does not appear on the expected event. Check that the encoder is using the stream URL and key for the event you intend to start. If you reused settings, review the copied event details and key.

  • The stream is interrupted or replaced with a placeholder. A copyright match can affect third-party music in a live broadcast. Check the rights for both the composition and recording, address any claim, and confirm whether the rights holder needs to allowlist your channel.

  • The archive is missing after a very long session. Streams over 12 hours may not be captured automatically. Keep a local recording for a long program instead of relying only on YouTube’s archive.

  • Viewers miss a changed start time. Update the event and communicate the change through your channel’s usual announcements; do not assume an earlier shared time remains accurate.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your goal is a continuous YouTube stream of uploaded devotional videos rather than a manually started event for each weekday, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The cloud keeps it running without a computer or home connection left on. Each slot streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card required. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos and streams to YouTube; it does not replace music-rights checks. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
