Schedule two separate livestream events in YouTube Studio—one for the morning and one for the evening—then add each completed livestream archive to its matching playlist. You can reuse settings to save setup time, but YouTube’s published guidance does not document automatic recurring events or automatic routing of finished streams into separate playlists.
What you need to set up
YouTube handles the event schedule and the archive playlists as separate parts of the workflow. Create an event for each time slot in Live Control Room; after each stream ends, organize its archive into the appropriate playlist.
- A YouTube channel with access to YouTube Studio and Live Control Room.
- The morning and evening dates, times, titles, descriptions, and visibility settings you want to publish.
- A production method for the stream. Scheduling and playlist organization happen in YouTube Studio; an encoder is only relevant if you choose to broadcast with one.
YouTube’s Manage live stream settings page covers scheduled streams and reuse of settings. Its live-stream promotion guidance recommends organizing livestream archives and highlight clips into playlists.

Schedule the morning and evening events
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live, then open Manage.
- Create the morning event. Select Schedule stream. Start a new stream or choose Reuse settings from a previous stream. Set the morning date and time, then enter the title, description, and visibility.
- Check the event details before saving. If you reused settings, review the copied metadata and other settings. In particular, confirm that the title, description, date, time, and visibility are correct for the morning event.
- Repeat for the evening. Create a second scheduled stream with its own date and time and details that clearly identify it as the evening event. Review its settings separately before saving.
- Share each event’s URL. Send viewers the link for the correct time slot. A scheduled event may appear as upcoming, and viewers can select “Notify me” to opt into a reminder; YouTube says they may receive a notification shortly before the stream starts. Reuse settings or start fresh?
Reusing a previous stream’s settings can reduce repeated setup work. Starting fresh gives you a clean event entry. Either way, verify the schedule and event metadata before sharing the link: copied settings are not a substitute for checking the new event.

Put each finished archive in the right playlist
- After the morning livestream ends, find its archive in YouTube Studio.
- Add the morning archive to your morning playlist. If that playlist does not exist yet, create it for the channel’s morning livestream archives.
- After the evening livestream ends, find that archive and add it to your evening playlist, creating the playlist if needed.
- Check each playlist to confirm the intended archive is included in the correct group.
YouTube’s promotion guidance recommends organizing livestream archives and highlight clips into playlists, but the published guidance reviewed here does not establish automatic placement of future livestream archives into separate playlists. Treat playlist assignment as a post-stream step unless the current Studio interface offers a feature that changes this workflow.
Make the schedule clear and sustainable
Choose a cadence you can maintain and tell viewers about changes to it. YouTube’s Upload schedule tips – Live says: “A consistent, sustainable release schedule is critical when building and fulfilling audience expectations and maintaining your well-being.” If a morning or evening event changes, update the event details and communicate the change to viewers rather than leaving them to rely on an outdated schedule.

What scheduling does—and does not—automate
YouTube’s guidance documents scheduled stream entries and reusing settings from a previous stream. It does not document a single setup that automatically creates recurring morning and evening events, nor does it establish automatic routing of the resulting archives into different playlists. Plan to create or schedule each event and to organize each archive after the stream.

Troubleshooting
The event is listed at the wrong time
Open the event in Live Control Room and verify its date and time before sharing the link. When you reuse settings, review the new event’s schedule rather than assuming it matches the intended morning or evening slot.
The morning and evening events look alike
Edit each event’s title and description so viewers can distinguish the time slots. Confirm that you are sharing the URL for the intended event.

An archive is in the wrong playlist or missing
Find the completed livestream archive in YouTube Studio and add it to the correct playlist. Do not assume that scheduling an event also assigns its future archive to a playlist.
Viewers did not see an upcoming event or reminder
Share the scheduled event’s URL directly. YouTube says an event may appear as upcoming and viewers can opt into “Notify me”; the reminder is not a substitute for sharing the right event link.
