Schedule each seasonal event in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, share its upcoming watch page so customers can set reminders, and add the replay and useful clips to a clearly named playlist after the broadcast. A live event and a prerecorded video scheduled to publish are separate workflows, so choose the one that matches your content.
Plan a seasonal schedule your team can maintain
Before scheduling individual events, decide how often to go live, what each event will cover, and how much content your team can produce. A holiday gift guide, for example, might be one focused showcase rather than a weekly commitment. Choose a cadence that fits your production capacity, then communicate it clearly so viewers know when to expect the next event. YouTube recommends weighing the cost of producing content against viewership and revenue, and telling fans about schedule changes. YouTube’s live scheduling guidance also recommends leaving time for recent uploads to reach fans before a live stream.
There is no established universal best day or time for a seasonal retail stream. Use your own channel’s results and team capacity to adjust the next event rather than assuming a particular time will perform best.
Schedule a YouTube Live event in Studio
- Open the Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create, then Go Live.
- Go to Manage. In the Live Control Room, open the Manage tab and choose the option to schedule a stream.
- Set up the event. Create a new stream or reuse settings from a previous broadcast. Confirm the event’s title, planned date and time, and privacy setting.
- Save the event details. Add the planned information and the scheduled stream URL to your retail campaign calendar, along with the promotion dates and the person responsible for the broadcast.
- Promote the event page. Share its URL through relevant customer communications and social channels. A scheduled stream can appear as an upcoming event, and viewers can opt in to receive a reminder. YouTube’s instructions for scheduling a live stream describe this Live Control Room workflow.
Scheduling creates the event page; it does not itself broadcast your live program. Make sure the person responsible for going live knows the event time and has the stream prepared.

Keep scheduled live events separate from scheduled uploads
Use Live Control Room for an event viewers can see as upcoming and set a reminder for. Use the upload workflow when you have a finished video that should become public at a later time.

For a scheduled upload, YouTube notes that the date shown on a public video’s watch page is based on Pacific Standard Time; that date can differ from the one shown in Studio for some time zones. Create a playlist for the seasonal series
- Choose a specific name. Use a label customers can understand, such as “Holiday Gift Live Shows” or “Spring Retail Preview.”
- Set the audience visibility. Choose a playlist privacy setting that fits whether the collection is meant for customers or for internal use.
- Arrange the videos deliberately. Add the relevant videos and, after each broadcast, its replay and useful highlight clips. Put them in an order that makes sense for someone catching up.
- Consider an official series playlist only when it fits. For a verified channel curating videos intended to be watched together, YouTube offers a series-playlist setting. It is optional; a video can appear in only one series playlist, and included videos must be uploaded by your channel and be ones you have rights to use. Review YouTube’s playlist guidance before enabling it.
After each event, check the archive and add the highlights
Once the broadcast is over, check the replay’s visibility and add it to the seasonal playlist, along with any useful clips. This gives customers one place to find the event and its highlights. Between events, review the effort and cost involved against the viewership and revenue you observe. Adjust the format or cadence if the workload is not sustainable, and tell viewers about any schedule changes.
