For a Marathi church service at a set time, schedule a YouTube Live event in YouTube Studio, then send the recording through an encoder such as OBS and start the event in Live Control Room. If “continuous” means an unattended 24/7 loop rather than a weekly scheduled service, that is a different setup: one scheduled event does not create an always-on feed.
Choose between a scheduled sermon and a continuous loop
First decide what the church means by “continuous.” A scheduled event suits a Sunday service or recurring sermon that viewers should watch together at a definite time. It creates an upcoming watch page that can be shared in advance, and viewers may be able to choose “Notify me.” A 24/7 feed instead keeps prerecorded material playing beyond one service; it requires an operating arrangement designed for continuous broadcasting.
| Approach | Best for | What it involves |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduled YouTube Live event | A single service or a weekly sermon at a known time | Create an event in Live Control Room, connect an encoder, and start the broadcast at the planned time. |
| Computer and software encoder | A church with a volunteer available to run and monitor a computer | Play the recording through encoder software and keep the computer and its internet connection running during the event. OBS is listed by YouTube as free and open-source software. |
| Dedicated hardware encoder | A church seeking a device-based option for scheduled prerecorded media | YouTube’s encoder directory lists the AJA HELO Plus with PlayToStream functionality. Check current product details and suitability with the manufacturer. |
| Cloud service | Unattended or round-the-clock playback | Use a service designed to keep prerecorded video streaming from the cloud; compare its schedule controls, monitoring, storage, reliability terms, price and cancellation terms. |
Google’s Live Streaming API documentation describes a 24/7 broadcast arrangement in which a continuous broadcast can continue while a separate broadcast is started and ended. That is not the same as scheduling an ordinary sermon event. YouTube lists cloud services and hardware in its encoder directory, but does not establish comparative performance or endorse a particular provider. Google’s explanation of broadcasts and streams describes the continuous-broadcast use case.

Before scheduling, choose the exact recording, confirm that it plays through to the end, and decide whether it should run once or be repeated by the encoder. Check the spoken audio and any included music, lyrics, slides, guest contributions or other material. The church should have permission for all material it broadcasts; owning a recording does not by itself establish every streaming right.

- Use a stable internet connection and a computer capable of playing the recording while running encoder software, if using the computer method.
- Keep the original recording available locally and test playback before the service. This helps distinguish a file or audio problem from a YouTube connection problem.
- Decide whether the event should be public, unlisted or private, and who will operate the encoder and Live Control Room.
Schedule the YouTube Live event in Studio
- In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live to open Live Control Room.
- Open Manage, then select Schedule stream. Create a stream or reuse settings from a previous broadcast.
- Enter the service title, description, date and start time. Set the audience and privacy details intentionally; check the audience-facing visibility rather than assuming the defaults match the church’s plan.
- Save the scheduled event. It can appear as an upcoming watch page with a shareable URL and a viewer reminder option. Share that event link in the church’s usual channels so viewers can find the scheduled service.
- Review the live settings, including stream key, latency and auto-start or auto-stop options, before the service. YouTube documents these controls in Manage live stream settings.
YouTube Help says, “Scheduling a stream lets you promote your stream.” See Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder for YouTube’s scheduling and encoder instructions.
Connect the encoder and start the sermon
- Choose an encoder. YouTube supports software encoders running on a computer as well as hardware encoders. OBS is one free, open-source option listed in YouTube’s encoder directory.
- In the encoder, select YouTube if it is available as a service. Otherwise, enter the server URL and stream key shown in YouTube’s stream settings. The key lets the encoder send the feed to the correct YouTube stream; treat it like a password and do not share it publicly.
- Load the recorded sermon in the encoder’s media source or playback workflow. Check that the audio is audible and the picture is framed correctly. Encoder interfaces vary, so use the software’s current instructions for selecting and playing a media file.
- At the scheduled time, start sending the encoder feed. In Live Control Room, wait for the incoming preview and check it before selecting Go live.
- Confirm the event is visible with the intended privacy setting. Have a second person, if available, check the public watch page and audio from a separate device.
- When the service is finished, end the event in Live Control Room and stop the encoder feed. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived; the archive appears with current and upcoming streams in Studio’s Live tab. See YouTube’s encoder instructions.
If the church means a 24/7 Marathi sermon stream
A continuous loop needs an arrangement that can keep playing after a volunteer’s scheduled event ends. Google’s API documentation describes a continuous 24/7 broadcast use case, while YouTube’s encoder directory lists cloud services for continuous prerecorded streaming and hardware with prerecorded scheduling. Those listings establish available categories, not a guarantee of a provider’s uptime or performance.

For a DIY computer setup, the machine, playback process and internet connection must remain active and be monitored. A hardware encoder is another option for scheduled prerecorded media. For cloud playback, compare the details that matter to the church—how it schedules or loops videos, how it signals outages, how storage is counted, support availability, billing duration and cancellation terms—before choosing a service.

Common problems and fixes
- No encoder preview appears: Check that the encoder is sending to the correct YouTube server URL and that it is using the stream key for this scheduled event. Confirm the encoder is running and the recording is playing.
- The preview appears, but viewers cannot watch: In Live Control Room, verify that you selected Go live and that the event’s visibility is the intended public, unlisted or private setting.
- The sermon is silent or the wrong material is playing: Check the encoder’s selected media source and audio routing; listen to the incoming preview before starting the event.
- The stream stops when the volunteer leaves: A computer-based encoder depends on the computer, software and connection remaining active. For unattended or all-day playback, use an approach designed for continuous operation rather than relying on one scheduled event.
- The church cannot find an archive: YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours. Check Studio’s Live tab and the stream’s duration if no archive appears.
