Schedule the event in Studio, then connect an encoder that plays your playlist and start the broadcast. For continuous operation, the encoder or cloud playout service must keep sending video to YouTube.
What scheduling does—and does not do
A scheduled stream creates an upcoming YouTube event viewers can visit and, where available, set a reminder for. It does not create a playlist loop or start an encoder automatically. You need a software or hardware encoder to send the audio and video feed to YouTube, and you must start the broadcast. YouTube’s official workflow is for scheduled encoder streams; it does not document a native Studio feature that continuously rotates channel playlists forever.
1. Enable live streaming and check eligibility
Before setting up the channel, confirm that live streaming is enabled and the channel is verified. YouTube says a first-time activation can take up to 24 hours. Its eligibility guidance also requires that the channel have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days and meet the applicable minimum-age rules. Check YouTube’s current requirements at YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
2. Schedule the YouTube event

In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live.

Open Manage and select Schedule stream.

Choose Create new to set up an event, or reuse settings from an earlier stream. Add the title, description, visibility, and scheduled start time appropriate for your channel.

Save the event. Share its event page so viewers can find it and set a reminder if that option is available to them.

3. Connect an encoder and start the stream
Prepare your Malayalam and Kannada playlist as the encoder’s video-and-audio output. The encoder may be streaming software or a standalone hardware device; YouTube does not require a particular brand or an expensive computer as a universal prerequisite. Follow the encoder maker’s instructions for building and looping a playlist.

Open the scheduled event’s stream settings in YouTube Live Control Room and copy its stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s connection settings.

Keep the stream key private because it grants access to the stream. If you believe it has been exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.

Start the encoder and wait for the incoming feed and preview in Live Control Room.

When the preview is ready, start the broadcast in YouTube Live Control Room if the event requires it. Confirm that the public event is playing as expected.
YouTube’s encoder overview describes both software and hardware options: YouTube Help: Live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions. Use the settings and connection instructions that match your encoder and current event; the cited guidance does not establish a particular encoder model as necessary.

4. Run a preflight before the scheduled time
YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before a livestream and starting it at least 15 minutes before the event. Treat these as preparation recommendations, not a guarantee of uninterrupted 24/7 service.

Confirm the event time, visibility, and event-page access.

Start the encoder early enough to check that Live Control Room receives a feed and shows a preview before you go live.

Listen for clear audio and check that the expected video is playing; monitor the stream’s audio and video quality.

Verify that the playlist continues beyond its first track and that the encoder’s playlist or loop behavior is configured as intended.

5. Clear music rights before broadcasting
Do not assume that a Malayalam or Kannada song is cleared for livestreaming because it is available online, labelled “free,” or licensed for an ordinary upload. Before launch, document that you have the necessary rights for the sound recordings and compositions, for livestream use in the territories where viewers may access the stream, and for any archived replay you intend to make available. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for those rights on the channel operator; see YouTube’s Terms of Service.
YouTube scans livestreams for third-party content. A match can trigger a warning, replace the stream with a placeholder image, interrupt it, or terminate it. If you have a license, the relevant rights holder may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID. Review YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams before broadcasting.

Music sources are not interchangeable

Original music: Confirm that the channel controls all necessary rights for both the composition and recording, including any contributors’ or performers’ rights that apply.

YouTube Audio Library: Check the individual track’s terms for the precise uses permitted, including livestreaming and any replay.

External licenses: Read the license for live use, replay, territories, and monetization rather than relying on a general “royalty-free” description.
YouTube says Creator Music track licenses and revenue-sharing terms described for long-form videos are not for livestreams. Do not treat a Creator Music track as cleared for this broadcast on that basis; see YouTube Help: Use Creator Music. YouTube’s Audio Library guidance and its copyright-safe music guidance are useful starting points, but check the applicable track terms for your intended live and replay uses.

A 24/7 channel needs an encoder or cloud playout that remains connected and continues sending the playlist. Scheduling a succession of events is not the same as an automatic playlist scheduler, and YouTube’s documented scheduled-stream workflow does not promise that a single 24-hour broadcast will archive completely. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not rely on that rule for a complete replay of a 24-hour stream. See YouTube Help: Archive live streams.
If replay completeness matters, consider shorter scheduled sessions or a separate local recording and backup plan. These approaches require their own setup and do not guarantee an uninterrupted handoff or complete archive; verify the behavior with your own workflow before relying on it.

Troubleshooting common launch problems
The scheduled event is visible, but nothing is playing
Scheduling does not start an encoder. Confirm that the encoder is running, uses the correct event’s stream URL and key, and has sent a feed to Live Control Room. Start the broadcast there after the preview is ready.
The encoder cannot connect
Check for a mistyped or outdated stream URL or key, especially if you reused an earlier event or reset a compromised key. Copy the current event’s connection details into the encoder and check its connection status.
The stream is interrupted or replaced by a placeholder
A third-party-content match can cause warnings or interruption. Review the rights for the specific recording and composition, confirm that live use is covered, and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting when you have permission.
The replay is missing or incomplete
Do not expect YouTube’s automatic archive rule for streams under 12 hours to guarantee a complete archive of a 24-hour stream. If replay matters, arrange shorter sessions or separate recording and backup, and validate that workflow in advance.
