Schedule the YouTube live event in YouTube Studio, then use an encoder or cloud streaming service to play and send your song rotation continuously. Studio creates the event and watch page; it does not schedule a sequence of songs. Before you stream, confirm that you have the necessary rights for every track and intended territory—YouTube may interrupt a live stream when it detects unlicensed third-party content.
How scheduling a 24/7 playlist works
There are two parts to the setup: the scheduled live event in YouTube Studio and the feed that an encoder or streaming service sends to that event. YouTube Studio provides the public event and watch page. The encoder or service manages the playlist, plays its audio and video, and sends the stream using the URL and key from YouTube’s Live Control Room.
This distinction matters for Indian-language songs just as it does for any other music: scheduling the event does not give you permission to use the songs, nor does it make Studio itself play the playlist.
Clear music rights before building the rotation
You need the necessary rights for the exact recordings and the intended streaming territories. A song’s availability on YouTube or your channel’s monetization status does not establish that you can use it in a continuous livestream. YouTube’s livestream terms say creators must have all rights needed to exploit live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers—including public performance licenses—and other royalty participants.

Rights vary by track, rights holder, and territory. Do not assume that one permission covers an entire catalogue or every country where your stream can be watched. Confirm the exact repertoire and intended territories with the relevant rights holders before launch; the general YouTube guidance does not establish a universal list of licenses for Indian-language music.
What happens when YouTube detects a match
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder; if the matched content remains, it may interrupt or terminate the stream. If you have licensed material, YouTube advises asking the owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license by itself may not stop an interruption if your channel has not been allowlisted.

Choose what will play and send the stream
You can use a local software encoder, dedicated hardware encoder, or a cloud-based streaming service. Dedicated hardware is not inherently required: the scheduling workflow supports software encoders as well. YouTube’s encoder guidance lists software and hardware approaches and includes Gyre as an example of a cloud-based option for streaming prerecorded videos; that listing is not an endorsement or a comparison of vendors.

YouTube’s general encoder guide does not compare providers’ reliability, prices, recovery, or playlist features. Check the current documentation and terms for whichever service you consider, and test its behavior rather than assuming that “24/7” guarantees uninterrupted playback.

Build and test the rotation
Prepare the recordings, visuals, track order, and transitions in the encoder or service that will produce the feed. Test the full rotation before scheduling a public launch: verify that audio is audible and consistent, visuals display as intended, transitions behave properly, and the playlist returns to the intended starting point. Keep a list of the tracks and their rights clearances so you can check what is playing if a rights issue arises.
Schedule the event and connect the feed
- Enable livestreaming on the channel. In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go Live. If livestreaming has not previously been enabled, complete the channel’s enablement process first. YouTube says initial enablement may take up to 24 hours.
- Prepare the playlist. Configure the song rotation in your chosen encoder or cloud workflow. Confirm the source, visuals, order, and transitions before connecting it to the scheduled event.
- Schedule the YouTube event. In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go Live → Manage → Schedule stream. Reuse previous settings or create a new stream. Set the event’s metadata, privacy, and other stream settings. The scheduled event can appear as upcoming, letting viewers open its watch page and request a reminder.
- Copy the connection details. In the Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key into the encoder or service. The key is a credential that lets the encoder send a feed, so treat it like a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control your stream.
- Preview before starting. Start the encoder feed and check the Live Control Room preview before you begin the public stream. Confirm the watch page is accessible and that audio and video look and sound right.
- Monitor operation and test recovery. Watch the stream’s audio and video quality while it is operating. If you use backup encoding, test failover in advance. If relying on a local archive, keep it under observation instead of assuming it will capture an indefinitely running stream.
YouTube’s general event guidance recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before an event and starting it at least 15 minutes in advance. Those are planning recommendations, not a guarantee of continuous operation for a 24/7 stream. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; that does not mean one indefinitely running stream will produce a single complete archive.

Troubleshoot common problems
- The event is scheduled, but nothing plays: Studio creates the event, not the playlist feed. Check that the encoder or service is running, is connected to the correct event, and has the intended rotation loaded.
- The encoder cannot connect: Check that you copied the stream URL and key for the scheduled event into the encoder correctly. If the key may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder configuration.
- The preview is missing audio or shows the wrong visuals: Check the selected media source and the rotation’s files, then inspect the Live Control Room preview before starting the event.
- The stream is interrupted after a music match: Treat this as a rights issue, not merely an encoder fault. Verify the track’s permissions for the intended territories and, if licensed, ask the rights holder about adding your channel to its Content ID allowlist.
- The stream stops after a power or network interruption: Check the encoder or service’s recovery behavior and test any backup setup. A continuous schedule is not itself a guarantee of recovery or uptime.
- The archive is incomplete: YouTube’s automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours. Do not rely on an indefinitely running stream to create one complete archive; monitor any local recording you depend on.
