YouTube Studio schedules the live event and its watch page; it does not schedule Hindi and English playlists to switch automatically inside a continuous broadcast. To alternate language blocks, schedule playback in the encoder or automation service that sends the video feed, then connect that feed to a YouTube live event. Test the full timetable with an unlisted stream before sharing it.
What you need to schedule
A continuous broadcast has two separate parts:
- The YouTube live event: Created in YouTube Studio, it gives viewers a watch page and manages the broadcast.
- The playback feed: Supplied by an encoder or streaming service. This determines which video and audio viewers see, including when the Hindi and English blocks change.
YouTube’s API documentation distinguishes the feed (liveStream) from the viewer-facing event (liveBroadcast) and describes a 24/7 feed alongside a separate broadcast: YouTube Live Streaming API documentation. A scheduled YouTube event alone does not make prerecorded playlists rotate.
Choose how to play and schedule the videos
Run playback and encoding locally
A computer running suitable playback and encoding software can assemble the Hindi and English blocks into one feed and send it to YouTube. It must remain powered on, connected to the internet, and able to keep the feed running. YouTube also supports standalone hardware encoders, but check the exact device’s documentation for prerecorded playback, timed playlist changes, looping, and restart behavior; encoder support does not automatically mean those features are included.

Use cloud playlist automation
A cloud service can play uploaded recordings and send the feed without relying on a computer at home. Confirm that the specific service can schedule the language blocks at your chosen times, loop the correct playlists, handle transitions, and recover after an interruption. OneStream Live describes 24/7 video streaming in its help documentation: OneStream Live’s 24/7 streaming guide. That example does not establish that all providers offer the same scheduling controls.
Prepare the language timetable and content
- Set the rotation. Write down the start and end time of every Hindi and English block, including the time zone. Decide what should happen at the boundary: switch directly to the next item, show a transition, or repeat a short holding video.
- Build the playlists. Put the intended recordings in order and check that every item plays with the correct audio and video. If blocks repeat, confirm the service or software loops them as intended.
- Check every item’s rights. You need the rights to rebroadcast each video, song, and other audio or visual material. A public YouTube playlist, a third-party subscription, or permission to use one item does not by itself grant rebroadcast rights to the whole rotation. Follow YouTube’s copyright and live-streaming policies.
- Choose a sustainable schedule. YouTube recommends considering frequency, consistency, content volume, and sustainability when setting a schedule. Introduce the timetable to viewers and communicate changes: YouTube’s scheduling guidance.
Schedule the YouTube live event
- In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live.
- Open Manage, then select Schedule stream.
- Create a new stream or reuse settings. Reusing settings copies metadata, settings, and the stream key, so review the title, description, visibility, and credentials before proceeding. See YouTube’s live stream settings guide.
- Set the event details and schedule. You can share the upcoming watch-page URL so viewers can visit the page and, where available, select Notify me for a reminder.
- In your encoder or streaming service, enter the YouTube stream URL and stream key. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your event.
- Start the encoder or cloud feed at the scheduled time. In Live Control Room, wait for the preview and follow the on-screen prompt to select Go live.

Test the full rotation before announcing it
Create an unlisted event and run it long enough to exercise each language block and at least one transition. Check the broadcast from a separate viewer account rather than relying only on the encoder preview.

- Do video and audio continue through playlist changes without an unintended gap or overlap?
- Are speech and music levels consistent, and is the audio in the expected language?
- Does the feed reconnect or recover in the way the chosen encoder or service claims it will?
- Can a viewer open the watch page, and does its schedule and description match the timetable?
- Do the event’s visibility and stream-key settings match your plan?
Plan for interruptions and archives
Recovery is a separate feature to verify
If the encoder stops, the computer loses its connection, or the service disconnects, YouTube may stop receiving the feed. Check the playback system’s restart and recovery behavior before relying on it for continuous operation. A YouTube event schedule does not itself restart a failed encoder or restore the missing feed.

Do not assume a 24-hour archive will be saved
YouTube Help states that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not promise automatic archiving for longer broadcasts, so arrange a separate recording and archive workflow if you need a complete record of a stream that runs 12 hours or more. The Hindi playlist does not switch to English
Likely cause: The language schedule was set only in YouTube Studio, or the playback tool does not support timed playlist changes. Fix: Put the timetable in the encoder or automation layer, confirm that the product supports the exact rotation, and repeat the unlisted test.

The scheduled watch page is visible, but there is no video feed
Likely cause: The event exists, but the encoder has not started or is not connected with the correct stream URL and key. Fix: Start the playback system, verify its YouTube connection details, wait for the Live Control Room preview, and follow the prompt to go live.
The feed goes offline when a home computer shuts down
Likely cause: Local playback depends on that computer and its internet connection. Fix: Keep the computer and connection available for the broadcast, use suitable dedicated hardware, or move prerecorded playback to a cloud service that supports your timetable.

The event details or access change unexpectedly after setup
Likely cause: Reused settings copied metadata, settings, or a stream key from an earlier event. Fix: Review the event and connection details before each broadcast, and replace or protect credentials if the key may have been exposed.
