You can schedule weekday and Sunday YouTube videos in India Standard Time (IST), but YouTube Studio’s documented workflow is video by video—not a recurring rule that switches playlists by day. Assign each video to its intended playlist, set its publication date, time, and time zone, then verify the schedule and playlist assignment in Studio.
What YouTube Studio can—and cannot—schedule
YouTube’s scheduled publication applies to an individual video: you choose a date, time, and time zone, and YouTube makes that video public at the scheduled time. Playlist assignment is handled for each video during upload or management. The documented Studio workflow does not provide a recurring playlist-level rule that automatically selects one playlist on weekdays and another on Sundays. So, if you want different playlists on different days, prepare the videos and schedule each one for the appropriate date. You can use a calendar or spreadsheet to keep the weekday and Sunday assignments straight.

Schedule weekday and Sunday videos in IST
- Create or identify the playlists. In YouTube Studio, open Content and then Playlists to manage playlists. Decide which playlist is for weekday releases and which is for Sundays; set each playlist’s title, visibility, and arrangement as needed. YouTube Help: Manage playlists in YouTube Studio – Computer
- Upload a video and assign its playlist. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Upload videos. During the upload flow, choose the appropriate existing playlist, or create one. Assign each video to the playlist you intend viewers to find it in.
- Set its scheduled publication. In the upload flow’s Visibility step, select Schedule. Choose the intended date and time, then explicitly select the intended time zone—India Standard Time for an India-local plan. - Repeat for each release. Schedule every weekday and Sunday video individually, choosing its date, time, time zone, and playlist. Keep a simple planning sheet with columns for date, day, video, playlist, intended IST time, and confirmation status.
- Check the details before relying on the release. In YouTube Studio, confirm that each video shows the expected scheduled status and playlist assignment. If you edit a scheduled video, recheck both details afterward.
Account for YouTube’s watch-page date display
YouTube says the “Published on” date shown on a video’s watch page is based on Pacific Standard Time (PST), while Studio’s schedule controls let you set a time zone. Because IST is ahead of PST, a video scheduled for an India-local date may display a different calendar date on its watch page. The exact result depends on the scheduled instant and the date being viewed; check the published watch page if the displayed date matters to your audience. YouTube Help: Schedule video publish time

Can a third-party scheduler automate the weekday/Sunday split?
Metricool documents YouTube video scheduling with playlist selection and publication date and time. Its help center also documents recurring posts with weekday, duration, time, and time-zone controls; that feature is described as available on Advanced and Custom plans. However, those help pages do not establish that a recurring schedule can automatically choose different video files and different playlists for weekdays versus Sundays. If you are comfortable assigning and scheduling videos one at a time, Studio is the straightforward documented route. A third-party calendar may be useful for planning, but do not assume its recurrence settings meet the distinct-content-and-playlist requirement without verifying them.

Common scheduling problems and fixes
- The wrong playlist is attached: reopen the video’s details in Studio and correct the playlist assignment; check it again alongside the scheduled date.
- The scheduled time looks wrong: inspect the selected time zone in the Schedule controls rather than assuming it follows your browser or a collaborator’s local zone.
- The watch-page date differs from the planned IST date: compare the scheduled instant with YouTube’s PST-based “Published on” display. The calendar date can differ for a schedule made in a time zone ahead of PST.
- A scheduled video does not publish: check for a Community Guidelines strike. YouTube says a strike can prevent scheduled publishing during the penalty period; the video remains private and must be rescheduled. YouTube Help: Schedule video publish time
- A recurring scheduler does not use the intended video or playlist: do not treat weekday recurrence alone as proof that distinct content and playlist choices are automated. Confirm the exact behavior in that scheduler, or schedule the videos individually in Studio.
Choose a cadence you can maintain
YouTube recommends a consistent, sustainable upload schedule and suggests using its tools to automate uploads. That supports preparing a calendar in advance, but it does not mean a particular weekday or Sunday time is universally best.
