You can schedule a YouTube Live event in YouTube Studio, but scheduling the event does not make a playlist play continuously. The scheduled event creates the watch page and lets viewers set a reminder; an encoder or cloud streaming service must send the audio and video feed, including any prerecorded playlist. For an unattended 24/7 broadcast, plan the continuous feed, music rights, monitoring and archive separately.
What YouTube scheduling does—and what it does not do
YouTube Studio’s scheduled stream is an upcoming live event, not a playlist automation feature. The event gives viewers a destination and may let them opt into a reminder. An encoder supplies the actual live program by sending audio and video to YouTube using the event’s stream URL and stream key. YouTube’s documented setup covers encoder-based streaming; it does not document a built-in procedure for scheduling a YouTube playlist to loop as a 24/7 live source. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance and live streaming instructions.

That means a playlist of Indian classical recordings can be the program material, but some separate system must play and transmit it continuously. This could be software running on a computer, a dedicated hardware encoder, or a cloud streaming service. Choose based on compatibility with your audio/video source, unattended operation, recovery and failover behavior, local recording needs, and total operating cost; YouTube’s guidance does not rank specific encoder models.

Confirm livestream access
Before scheduling, confirm the channel is able to livestream and that you can access its YouTube Studio Live Control Room. YouTube interface labels and policies can change, so check the current controls in Studio before the planned broadcast.
#1 Best Overall
Clear every recording and composition
Do not assume a recording is free to rebroadcast because it is classical, traditional, or already available on YouTube. The composition and the particular recording may involve different rights. YouTube says creators are responsible for having the necessary rights to exploit live content, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other participants. For India-specific or repertoire-specific legal advice, consult a qualified rights professional; the guidance here does not determine whether a particular work or recording is cleared.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. It may replace a stream with a placeholder and warn the creator, or interrupt or terminate the broadcast if the content continues. Even with a license, a rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to help avoid interruptions. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions and YouTube’s live content guidance before relying on a licensed track in a continuous feed.

Build and test the program
Prepare the playlist or playback sequence in the encoder or service that will supply the feed. Check that the source produces the audio and video formats your chosen encoder and YouTube workflow support. YouTube recommends setting up and testing in advance, checking the preview, monitoring audio and video, verifying access, and testing failover when using a backup encoder. Its guidance covers software encoders and notes that professional-grade hardware encoders are an option for higher-production events, not a universal requirement. See YouTube’s livestream setup guidance.

Schedule the YouTube Live event
- Open the scheduling flow. In YouTube Studio, select Create, then Go Live, open Manage, and choose Schedule Stream.
- Set up the event. Create a new stream or reuse prior settings. Choose its title, description, visibility and other stream settings. Confirm the scheduled date and time and check the watch page after saving; an upcoming event may be visible to viewers, who can set a reminder.
- Retrieve the connection details. In the scheduled stream or Live Control Room, find the stream URL and stream key. Enter both in the encoder’s streaming settings so it sends the program to the correct event.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: do not publish or share it. If it is compromised, reset it in Live Control Room and update the encoder with the new key.
- Start and verify the feed. Start the encoder and check that its preview reaches Live Control Room. Click Go live if the workflow requires it. Confirm the correct event is receiving the signal, then monitor playback, audio and video.
These steps create and connect the live event; they do not make the playlist loop on their own. The encoder or streaming service must keep supplying the program and handle any planned changes between stream sessions.
Plan continuity, recovery and the archive
Keep the feed running
For a continuous broadcast, decide how playback will continue if a file ends, the encoder restarts, the connection drops, or a stream session needs to change. Test the full sequence before announcing a 24/7 schedule. Where a backup encoder is part of the plan, test the failover rather than assuming it will work.
Do not rely on one 24-hour YouTube archive
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If the broadcast recording matters, make a local recording and check that the resulting file is complete and retained. You may also choose to divide the broadcast into shorter sessions, while planning how the audience will experience any transition. See YouTube’s archive live streams guidance.

Choose a way to send the playlist feed
| Approach | What to assess | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Software encoder on a computer | Source compatibility, whether the computer and internet connection can stay available, restart behavior, local recording and backup options. | You control the setup, but a computer or home connection interruption can stop the feed unless recovery is planned. |
| Dedicated hardware encoder | YouTube compatibility, input and output formats, reliability, unattended operation, local recording and failover needs. | It is an optional equipment route; YouTube’s guidance does not establish a best model, current India availability or price. |
| Cloud streaming service | Whether it accepts uploaded prerecorded video, supports continuous looping, recovers from interruptions, and meets your quality and storage needs. | The feed need not depend on a computer staying on at home, but compare the service’s supported destination and cost with your requirements. |
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream; and each slot streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a camera feed, and streams to YouTube only. Troubleshooting a scheduled playlist livestream
- The event exists, but viewers hear or see nothing: Scheduling creates the event page, not the program feed. Start the encoder or cloud service, verify its stream URL and key, and check the Live Control Room preview.
- The encoder signal reaches the wrong event or does not connect: Recheck that the encoder has the URL and key for the intended scheduled stream. If the key may have been exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and replace it in the encoder.
- The stream is interrupted after music begins: Check YouTube Studio for a warning or restriction. Confirm the specific recording and composition are cleared for livestream use; if licensed, ask the rights holder whether your channel must be allowlisted in Content ID.
- The playlist stops or the broadcast drops: Check the playback sequence, encoder process, power and connection. Test restart and failover behavior; a scheduled event alone cannot restore a feed that has stopped.
- The archive is incomplete or missing: YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Use a local recording backup and verify the saved file rather than treating the YouTube archive as guaranteed.
- The preview looks or sounds wrong: Check the encoder’s selected source and output, then monitor audio and video in Live Control Room before relying on the unattended run.
