Schedule the gaming live stream in YouTube Studio or the Live Control Room; regional-language captions, translated details and alternate audio are managed on the resulting replay (VOD), not scheduled as part of the live event. Set the original video language accurately, check which language features are actually available for your channel and replay, and review every machine-generated translation before relying on it.
What you schedule—and what you localize later
A scheduled stream is an upcoming live event. Its archive becomes a separate video to inspect after the broadcast. YouTube does not document a single setting that schedules a “regional-language VOD” along with the event: event timing, replay archiving and the replay’s language assets are separate tasks.
The workflow below uses YouTube Studio and YouTube Help’s documented behavior. Feature rollouts can vary by channel and video, so use the actual options shown in your Studio account rather than assuming every language feature will be available.

- Create or select the event. In YouTube Studio, create a scheduled stream, or open the stream in Live Control Room. Edit its settings and event details there. The exact options visible can depend on your account and current Studio interface.
- Make the listing clear to the intended audience. Include the game, spoken language, and a date and time that are unambiguous for viewers in India. If viewers may be in other time zones, state the time zone rather than relying on a date alone. YouTube’s guidance does not establish an India-specific best time to post or a separate scheduling procedure for gaming.
- Check the event visibility and promotion settings. YouTube says a scheduled stream may appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds, where viewers can select “Notify me.” YouTube Studio’s live settings also include platform features such as ads, Super Chat and channel memberships for some channels; availability and eligibility vary, and these options do not guarantee earnings.
- Set the original video language truthfully. In the video’s language settings in Studio, choose the language actually spoken in the stream. YouTube says this helps it and contributors understand the video and supports captions and discovery in that language. Correct a mistaken setting before depending on generated language assets.
Protect and check the replay after the broadcast
Keep a backup
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. The 12-hour guidance is YouTube’s stated operational threshold; the help page does not give it a publication year. YouTube recommends recording a local archive as a backup, so do not treat automatic archiving as your only copy.

Verify the archive in Studio
After the event ends, check the channel’s video content in YouTube Studio to confirm the replay is present and playable. Choose its visibility, then organize it in a relevant playlist if that helps viewers find the match, session or series. YouTube says live archives are uploaded by default and recommends organizing them into playlists. Likes from the live stream transfer to the VOD archive.
If the replay is missing or incomplete, check the stream duration and your local recording before making it public or directing viewers to it. YouTube’s documentation warns that streams over 12 hours may not be captured.

Choose the right language treatment for the VOD

Add and review captions on the replay
YouTube Help’s current long-form automatic-caption list includes Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. That list concerns long-form video captions; it does not mean every replay will have captions ready immediately or that all Indian languages are supported.

- Check whether automatic captions have appeared for the original spoken language. Availability and processing can vary.
- Review and edit the transcript. Gaming streams can include character names, player handles, invented words, rapid callouts, slang, regional accents, dialects, overlapping speakers and game audio that a speech recognizer may mishear.
- Publish captions only after checking that the text matches what was said. YouTube encourages creators to add professional captions first; machine-generated captions should not be treated as a verified transcript.
Live automatic captions are a separate feature. YouTube Help describes them as English-only and subject to normal-latency and other conditions. It says English channels with more than 1,000 subscribers may be included in a gradual rollout; this is help-page wording, not a permanent universal eligibility rule. A Hindi, Tamil or other regional-language VOD caption option does not establish that the same language will be captioned live.

Use translated metadata and dubbed audio carefully
Translate the title and description
Add translated titles and descriptions in Studio when they help your intended viewers identify the game, language and content. YouTube says viewers can search using translated title and description text. Viewers can also set preferred languages for audio, titles and descriptions; this preference is separate from app language and location, and does not itself affect search results or recommendations. Translation can improve access to information, but it does not guarantee discovery, recommendations or audience reach.
Check whether automatic dubbing is available
YouTube’s automatic-dubbing language coverage is a separate, limited matrix—not the same as automatic-caption coverage. Its current help page lists examples including English to Hindi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu; Hindi to Bengali and English; and Bengali, Malayalam, Punjabi and Tamil to English. Availability is expanding and may vary by channel or video, so check the replay’s Languages page in Studio rather than promising a particular dub.

YouTube warns that accents, dialects, proper names, idioms and jargon can produce errors in generated speech. Review the transcript and listen to each available dub before publishing or telling viewers to rely on it. The eligibility help says a video longer than 120 minutes may be ineligible; that is a stated possibility, not a guarantee that shorter replays qualify.
Check performance without assuming language reach
Use the channel’s own live metrics and analytics to assess stream health and replay performance. YouTube says live metrics include stream health and real-time analytics. Neither localized metadata nor a language preference guarantees more views, recommendations or revenue, and YouTube’s documented workflow does not establish India-specific audience-size figures or an optimal gaming-stream time.

Common problems and fixes
- The replay did not appear or is incomplete: Check whether the broadcast exceeded YouTube’s 12-hour archival threshold, then look for a local recording. Streams over 12 hours may not be captured.
- There are no captions in the expected language: Check the replay’s actual language options and original-language setting. The long-form list is not a promise that captions will appear on every video, and live-caption support is different.
- Captions mishear game names or regional speech: Edit the transcript before publication. Machine-generated text can misrecognize names, accents, dialects, jargon and overlapping voices.
- A dub is missing: Check channel and video eligibility and the available language pairs in Studio. YouTube’s language coverage is limited and availability varies; replays longer than 120 minutes may be ineligible.
- Translated text is not reaching viewers as expected: Confirm the translated title and description are actually saved and accurate. Preferred-language settings are separate from a viewer’s app language and location and do not guarantee search placement or recommendations.
