You can schedule a YouTube livestream event for each festival in YouTube Studio, then connect a prepared bhajan program through an encoder or another supported streaming method. Scheduling creates the event page; it does not schedule a YouTube playlist to play live by itself. Share each event page in advance so viewers can set a reminder.
How do I schedule a YouTube livestream?
- In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live > Manage > Schedule stream. Choose to create a new stream or reuse settings from an earlier one. YouTube documents these scheduling controls at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Enter the event title and description, and set its date, time, privacy and other details. Make the festival and session clear—for example, “Diwali Bhajans Live | [year]” or “Navratri Day [n] Bhajans Live | [year].” These are naming examples, not required formats.
- If you reuse an earlier event, review its copied metadata, settings and stream key. Update the date, time, privacy, description and thumbnail as needed; do not assume copied details fit the new festival.
- Save the scheduled event and copy its watch-page URL for promotion. Keep the YouTube event and the preparation of the live program as two separate tasks.
To stream with an encoder, YouTube’s setup guide explains how to copy the stream URL and key into the encoder: Set up your encoder for live streaming. Treat the stream key like a password; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your event.
Can I schedule a playlist to play as a livestream?
Not through YouTube’s event scheduler alone. The documented scheduling flow creates a livestream event and watch page. A continuous bhajan playlist needs a separate source that sends video and audio to that event, such as an encoder configured with the event’s stream URL and key. That distinction follows from YouTube’s separate scheduling and encoder setup instructions; YouTube’s documented flow does not provide a native command to schedule a playlist as a livestream.
Choose a streaming method for the kind of program
- Mobile: useful for a simple broadcast from the phone or an on-location program.
- Webcam: suitable for a direct computer-camera session.
- Encoder: the relevant option for sending a prepared program feed, including a playlist assembled in a streaming setup.
YouTube lists mobile, webcam and encoder streaming as available methods. An encoder may be software or hardware; YouTube’s general instructions do not require one particular vendor. See Get started with live streaming.

Plan separate festival events without guessing dates
- Choose the festival editions and sessions you intend to broadcast, and confirm the date and local observance time for the audience you serve. Festival dates and observances can vary by region and tradition, so a generic festival name is not enough to establish a universal date or start time.
- Decide whether each day or session deserves its own event. Give each event a title, date and theme that viewers can distinguish.
- Use YouTube’s reuse-settings option where it saves setup time, then verify every festival-specific detail on the new event before publishing it.
- Prepare the bhajan program and configure its streaming source separately from the event scheduling.
- Share the watch-page URL early. YouTube says scheduled streams may appear as upcoming in subscriber feeds, where viewers can choose “Notify me.” See Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
For a series, set a cadence you can sustain and communicate schedule changes clearly. YouTube’s Upload schedule tips – Live recommends a consistent, sustainable schedule and says creators should decide whether livestream archives will remain public.
Check eligibility and optional features
- Channel eligibility: YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have livestream restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its live-streaming guidance also says creators must be at least 16 to livestream. Check Get started with live streaming for the current requirements.
- Scheduled trailer: Optional. YouTube’s current guidance says a trailer requires more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes; the trailer must be 15 seconds to 3 minutes. It is not necessary to schedule an event. See Create a trailer for your live stream.
- Live Redirect: Optional for moving viewers to a Premiere or another livestream after a broadcast. YouTube says the creator needs more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes to send a redirect; redirecting to another channel requires that channel’s permission. See Use Live Redirect.
Check music and visual rights before going live
Confirm that you have the rights needed for every bhajan recording and every visual in the program. A devotional song may have a traditional composition, but a particular performance or recording can have separate rights. No specific recording permission is established here. YouTube says live content must follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and describes rights-management controls in Get started with live streaming. Do not assume that a recording is cleared just because it is devotional or available elsewhere online.

Troubleshoot common scheduling problems
| Problem | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| The event exists, but no bhajan playlist plays | Scheduling created the watch page, but no streaming source is sending a program feed. | Configure an encoder or another supported stream source with the event’s stream URL and key, then start the feed. |
| The event shows the wrong festival date or time | Old event settings were reused, or the chosen date was not checked for the audience’s region and observance. | Open the event details and verify its date, time and time zone against the intended local calendar. |
| The stream source cannot connect to the event | The encoder may have the wrong stream URL or key, or a copied key may belong to a different event. | Recheck the event’s connection details in YouTube Studio and enter the correct URL and key in the encoder. Keep the key private. |
| Viewers cannot find the upcoming broadcast | The event page may not have been shared, or its visibility and details may not match the intended audience. | Review privacy and event information, then share the scheduled watch-page URL directly. |
| A trailer or redirect option is unavailable | The channel may not meet the feature’s subscriber or strike eligibility conditions. | Check YouTube’s current eligibility notes for that specific optional feature; ordinary event scheduling does not require it. |
| Music or imagery creates a rights concern | The specific recording or visual may be protected even if the song or devotional subject is familiar. | Confirm permissions for each asset before broadcasting and consult YouTube’s rights guidance. |
