YouTube Studio can schedule a livestream that receives a continuous feed from an encoder, and it can schedule individual videos for specific dates and times. The official workflows do not document a built-in scheduler that automatically turns a playlist of Indian cricket highlights into a 24/7 livestream. Choose scheduled video releases for a match-day calendar, or schedule an encoder-based livestream for continuous playback—and confirm you have rights to every clip before streaming it.

Choose the workflow that matches your match-day plan

What you want viewers to see Use this workflow What it does not do
Separate highlights published at match-related times Schedule each video in YouTube Studio, choosing its date, time, and time zone. YouTube’s scheduled publishing help Scheduling videos does not automatically feed them into a continuous livestream.
A continuous live channel playing a prepared sequence Schedule an encoder-based livestream in YouTube Studio and send it a feed from an encoder using YouTube’s stream URL and stream key. YouTube’s streaming setup guidance YouTube’s documented workflow does not provide a native playlist-to-24/7-stream scheduler; the feed must be supplied by an encoder or cloud service.

For match-day programming, these can be complementary: schedule discrete releases for specific moments, and use a continuous stream only if you have an authorized, ready-to-send feed. Do not assume that arranging videos in a YouTube playlist will schedule them to play live.

Schedule a continuous YouTube livestream with an encoder

This workflow schedules the YouTube event; a separate encoder provides the video feed. The encoder must be running and connected when the stream is due to start.

  1. Create or schedule the event. In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go Live → Manage, then schedule a stream. You can reuse a previous stream’s settings or create new ones. YouTube says scheduled streams can be promoted, and viewers may receive reminders. YouTube: Stream with an encoder
  2. Connect the encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the scheduled event into the encoder. Treat the stream key as a credential: keep it private and use the key associated with the correct event. Configure the encoder to send the intended program feed to YouTube.
  3. Start the encoder when the event is ready. Confirm that the encoder is sending video and that YouTube receives the feed before relying on the scheduled event for viewers. Scheduling the event alone does not create or supply the video.
  4. Promote the event and communicate the lineup. Share the scheduled stream and tell viewers what match-day programming to expect. If clips or the schedule change, update viewers rather than leaving them to guess.

YouTube’s cited setup guidance explains the event and encoder connection, but does not establish a universal encoder hardware specification or a single set of bitrate, resolution, or keyframe settings for every source. Use settings supported by your encoder, connection, and video feed, and verify the incoming stream before the event.

Schedule individual highlights by match day

  1. In YouTube Studio, start the upload flow for the highlight video.
  2. Choose the option to schedule publication, then set the publication date, time, and time zone. YouTube: Schedule video publish time
  3. Repeat for each clip, checking the selected time zone and intended match-day order.
  4. After publication, group completed highlights into a playlist if that helps viewers find the archive. A playlist organizes videos; it is not an automatic live-stream schedule.

A calendar of individual releases is often the clearer choice when each clip has its own publication moment. A continuous stream is a different production commitment: it needs a prepared feed, an encoder or cloud service to send it, and rights that cover the planned use.

Plan archives and playlists separately

YouTube says livestream archives are uploaded by default, and streams under 12 hours are automatically archived according to its encoder setup help. YouTube: Stream with an encoder You can organize available livestream archives and highlight clips into YouTube playlists after the event; this is an archive and discovery step, not a scheduler for future live playback. Make the archive useful by labeling match-day videos clearly and explaining when viewers should expect the next scheduled release or stream. Clear cricket footage rights before scheduling

Rights are a prerequisite, not a detail to resolve after a stream is prepared. YouTube says all livestreams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. If copyrighted content is identified, a stream may be interrupted or terminated. YouTube: Copyright issues with live streams

Even if you hold a license, the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; without that, a licensed stream may still be interrupted. Confirm permissions for the exact footage, territory, and live and archived uses with the relevant rights holder before programming any Indian cricket highlights. The rules or rights for one competition or clip package should not be assumed to cover another.

YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the content provider to hold the necessary rights for use on Google services, including music rights, and to comply with applicable laws and regulations. YouTube Livestream Terms and Conditions No particular Indian competition’s rights holder or licensing terms are established here, so obtain confirmation for your own footage and intended uses rather than inferring permission from a publicly available broadcast or clip.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your goal is an always-on YouTube stream of uploaded videos, StreamNeo runs the loop in the cloud after you upload the recordings, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home, and you do not need to keep a computer, OBS, or home connection running. Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; there are no quality tiers. StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. This is for uploaded videos, not a camera feed, and StreamNeo streams to YouTube only. For cricket footage, you still need the appropriate rights before uploading or streaming it. See StreamNeo or its pricing page. UPI and cards are available in India; card checkout is available worldwide. Start the free first day with StreamNeo.

Quick Recap

Common problems and fixes

  • The scheduled event exists, but viewers see no video: scheduling does not supply a feed. Confirm the encoder is running and sending to the event’s stream URL with the correct stream key.
  • The encoder cannot connect or the wrong event receives the feed: check that you copied the URL and key for the intended scheduled stream, and replace a key if it has been exposed.
  • A licensed highlight stream is interrupted: YouTube scans live feeds for third-party matches. Ask the rights owner to confirm that the exact use is licensed and that your channel is allowlisted in Content ID where required.
  • A playlist does not start a 24/7 broadcast: a playlist is for organizing videos. Use scheduled individual publications for a release calendar, or supply an encoder feed for continuous live playback.
  • The archive is unavailable or incomplete: check the stream duration and encoder setup. YouTube’s cited help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not rely on that statement to promise an archive for longer streams.
  • Viewers are confused by schedule changes: update the event or release information where applicable and communicate changes clearly on the channel.
