You can schedule an encoder-based YouTube Live stream in YouTube Studio, then start sending your study-music playlist at the appointed time. For an Indian audience, state the start time in India-local time and verify the timezone shown in Studio before saving: YouTube’s live-stream scheduling guidance does not establish which timezone the current scheduler displays or whether it offers a timezone selector.
What scheduling does—and what it does not
A scheduled stream gives viewers an upcoming watch page they can visit and, where available, opt into start notifications. Scheduling alone does not make a 24/7 broadcast begin: at the scheduled time, your encoder must send the stream, and you must confirm the preview and click Go live in Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder-stream instructions describe this workflow.
Plan separately for three outcomes: a continuously available live feed, a complete replay, and a clearly communicated India-local start time. One uninterrupted live event does not guarantee a complete replay.

Check your channel’s livestream access
Before preparing the playlist, confirm that the channel is eligible to livestream. YouTube’s current getting-started guidance says the channel must be verified, must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must meet YouTube’s minimum-age requirement of 16. Schedule the encoder stream in YouTube Studio
- Open Live Control Room: In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live, then open Manage and choose Schedule stream. You can reuse settings from a previous stream or create a new one. See YouTube’s scheduling instructions.
- Enter the event details: Add the title, description, visibility, and other requested details. Choose the scheduled date and start time. Clearly communicate the time to viewers as India-local time (IST, UTC+5:30).
- Check the timezone displayed by Studio: Before saving, inspect the current livestream scheduler’s date, time, and any timezone indication. The official livestream instructions do not establish the scheduler’s timezone behavior. Do not assume that its controls match YouTube’s separate scheduled-video flow: that video guidance explicitly mentions setting a timezone, but it does not prove that livestream scheduling has the same option. YouTube’s scheduled-video guidance is separate.
- Save and share the upcoming watch page: Once scheduled, share its URL and tell viewers the India-local start time. YouTube says a scheduled stream can appear as upcoming, allowing viewers to visit the watch page and opt into a reminder. Keep the schedule sustainable and let viewers know about changes; see YouTube’s creator guidance.
Connect an encoder and start the broadcast
- Copy the stream connection details: In YouTube Studio’s stream setup, copy the stream URL and stream key into your encoder’s corresponding fields. Treat the key like a password: do not put it in screenshots, public documents, or chat. YouTube allows a custom stream key to be reused; protect it even if you plan to reuse it. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
- Load the playlist in the encoder: Configure your chosen encoder to send the prepared study-music playlist as the stream source. The YouTube scheduling instructions do not prescribe a specific encoder, playlist format, or restart cadence, so follow the encoder’s own documentation for those details.
- Start sending at the scheduled time: Start the encoder’s stream output, wait for the incoming preview in Live Control Room, and check that it is the intended content. Then click Go live. The scheduled time and a running encoder are both necessary for this workflow.
Protect music rights for both live playback and replay
Before broadcasting, confirm that your permissions cover public livestream transmission and, if you plan to make a replay available, archive or video-on-demand use. YouTube’s music guidance specifically distinguishes performance rights for live use from archive rights. A license for personal listening should not be assumed to grant either public retransmission or replay rights. Read YouTube’s music rights guidance, and follow the platform’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
Plan around the 12-hour archive warning
YouTube says it can automatically archive livestreams shorter than 12 hours, but warns: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” This is an archive warning—not a statement that YouTube automatically stops a stream at 12 hours. For a single 24/7 event, do not promise viewers a complete YouTube replay. YouTube’s archive guidance also recommends keeping a local recording as a backup.

If a complete replay matters, arrange local recording and decide how you will publish or segment it. The retrieved guidance does not specify a storage-capacity requirement, so estimate space from your own recording format and intended duration rather than assuming a universal figure.

Keep a 24/7 schedule clear for viewers in India
- Put the start date and India-local time in the event details or announcement; do not rely on viewers to infer your timezone.
- Share the upcoming watch-page URL so interested viewers can visit it and opt into a reminder.
- If the schedule changes, tell viewers clearly and update the event details where appropriate.
- Do not describe a scheduled start as a guaranteed uninterrupted 24/7 service. The encoder-based workflow requires a sending encoder and a creator action to go live after the preview appears.
