YouTube Studio can schedule a live event and give viewers an upcoming watch page, but it does not itself run a continuous prerecorded playlist or switch that playlist each month. You need two separate pieces: a scheduled YouTube live event and a playout source—such as an encoder on a computer or a cloud service—that sends the video feed to YouTube.
What YouTube scheduling does—and what it does not do
Scheduling creates the live event: its title, timing, watch page, and opportunity for viewers to opt into notifications. A separate encoder or playout service must send the actual audio and video to the event. YouTube’s documented scheduling workflow does not establish a native feature for automatically running a 24/7 prerecorded playlist or changing the feed to a new playlist on a monthly boundary.
That distinction matters when planning a monthly change. Editing a regular YouTube video playlist does not, by itself, change the live feed being sent to an event. The playout system must be configured to use the new media or playlist.
Check channel eligibility before planning the launch
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions during the preceding 90 days. Enabling live streaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until the day the event is meant to begin. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance.

Schedule the YouTube live event

Open YouTube Studio and select Create > Go Live.

Open Manage, then select Schedule stream.

Choose to create a stream or reuse settings from an earlier one. Confirm the title, description, visibility, and scheduled start time before saving.

Share the upcoming event page if you want viewers to find it in advance. A scheduled stream can appear as upcoming, and viewers can opt into notifications.
YouTube’s encoder setup instructions document this scheduling route. Its live-stream settings guidance covers reuse of settings, stream keys, notifications, and auto-start or auto-stop options. Those event settings do not replace the system that plays and sends the video.
Prepare the new playlist for each month
Build the incoming month’s playlist in the system that will actually play the stream. Do the preparation before its effective date rather than assuming a YouTube event or ordinary video playlist will perform the changeover.

Confirm order: Check the track or video sequence, whether items repeat, and how the end of the list behaves.

Check every media file: Make sure each item is available to the playout system and plays with the expected audio and video.

Verify rights: Confirm that you have permission to use each item in a livestream. Rights problems can interrupt a broadcast or affect the channel.

Set the changeover time: Decide when the new list should take effect and how you will verify that it has.

Confirm the changeover behavior: Ask whether edits take effect at the next item, the next playlist cycle, a scheduled boundary, or only after restarting. Do not assume one service behaves like another.
Choose how to send the continuous feed
Use a local encoder
You can run streaming software on a computer and send its output to YouTube. YouTube also documents standalone hardware encoders. In either case, your computer or encoder and its internet connection must remain available for the periods you want the feed to run. Configure the playlist in the software or playback workflow that supplies the encoder; YouTube scheduling alone will not update it.

In YouTube Studio, open the scheduled event in Live Control Room and locate its stream settings.

Copy the YouTube Live server URL and stream key into the encoder’s corresponding destination fields. Treat the stream key as a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to send video to your channel.

Configure the encoder to play the prepared playlist continuously, then start sending the feed.

Wait for the incoming video preview in Live Control Room. Check the picture and sound before starting the event; then go live as required by the event workflow.

Monitor the broadcast status and actual audio and video. A scheduled event is not evidence that the encoder is still sending a healthy feed.

For the precise YouTube workflow, including entering the server URL and stream key, starting the encoder, checking the preview, and going live, use YouTube’s encoder instructions.
Use cloud playlist playout
A cloud playout service can run a playlist on its own servers and send it to YouTube over RTMP, avoiding the need to keep a personal computer running. For example, Looping Stream describes an upload, playlist, RTMP destination, and cloud-worker workflow; Upstream describes cloud playlist playout for an always-on channel. These are providers’ descriptions of their services, not independent performance tests.
Before relying on any provider, confirm its current YouTube support, how monthly playlist changes take effect, what monitoring and reconnection behavior it offers, and its current terms. In particular, verify the changeover process with the provider instead of assuming the new list will start at a particular time or item.
Plan archives separately from the 24/7 broadcast
YouTube says a stream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived. A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all, so a continuous 24/7 session should not be treated as a guaranteed complete replay. YouTube recommends keeping a local backup if an archive matters. Consider whether shorter, bounded broadcasts plus a separate recording workflow better meet your archive needs. Choose based on who will operate and monitor the feed, the playlist-change procedure, recovery arrangements, archive requirements, rights, and total operating cost. Do not treat a provider’s uptime or reliability marketing as an independently verified result.
