Download the portal’s official acknowledgement, confirmation page, or submitted-application PDF first; save the fee receipt separately if the instructions require it. A screenshot can be a useful extra record of what appeared on screen, but it may not count as proof of submission. Check the current instructions for your university, programme, and admission cycle.
Save the portal’s official submission record first
- Complete final submission. Look for a final status, acknowledgement, confirmation-page link, or download option. A draft or preview may not mean the application was submitted. JEECUP’s 2026 help page says its confirmation-page download link is enabled only after all required steps are complete: JEECUP admissions portal.
- Download the record generated by the portal. Save the acknowledgement, confirmation page, or final application PDF. CEE Kerala’s KEAM 2026 instructions tell candidates to print the acknowledgement page for future reference after online submission (CEE Kerala). NITK says a PDF application is generated after successful submission and advises applicants to preserve it (NITK).
- Keep payment evidence when required. Save the fee receipt and any transaction or e-receipt number and date. AKU’s guidance asks applicants to retain payment details along with the online form and acknowledgement number (AKU).
- Reopen the saved files. Confirm that each PDF or image opens and that the text, status, and identifiers are readable before leaving the portal.
Can a screenshot prove that you submitted an application?
Do not assume that it can. A screenshot records what was visible on your device; it is not automatically an official receipt or a record the university accepts as proof. Jadavpur University’s cited engineering-admission instructions identify the acknowledgement document, a submitted-application form available from the dashboard after two days of payment, and the SBI Collect application-fee receipt as evidence of confirmed submission. They explicitly state: “No other document including screen shots of form and/or payment receipt will be accepted as proof of form submission.” (Jadavpur University)
That is a specific instruction for the cited process, not a nationwide rule. Other examples differ: CEE Kerala asks KEAM 2026 candidates to retain the acknowledgement page and says not to send it or supporting certificates to the office; NITK advises preserving its generated PDF; and AKU specifies records applicants should keep. Follow the current notice for your own university, programme, and cycle.

Desktop Chrome
Open the page and press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac. In the print dialog, choose Save as PDF if offered and save the file. See Google Chrome’s print instructions.
Android Chrome
Open the page, tap More → Share → Print, select Save as PDF, then choose where to save it. Menu names can vary by software version. See Google Chrome’s print instructions.

Make the screenshot useful
- Include the portal or institution context and the successful submission status or acknowledgement identifier where possible.
- Keep the original capture unchanged; do not crop away details that help identify the page.
- Save it alongside, not instead of, the portal-generated record and required payment evidence.
- Other devices and browser versions may use different controls. Use the built-in screenshot or print-to-PDF workflow and check that the saved file opens.

Common problems and fixes
- No confirmation-page download link: The portal may not have recorded all required steps as complete. Check the application status and the portal’s own help or notice before treating the application as submitted; JEECUP’s 2026 instructions give this as a condition for enabling the link.
- You only have a screenshot: Look in the portal dashboard for the acknowledgement, confirmation page, or submitted-application PDF. Check the institution’s instructions to learn whether screenshots are accepted.
- The PDF is missing or unreadable: Return to the portal while access is available, download the official file again, and open it to verify it is complete. If the portal offers no download, follow its support instructions.
- Payment succeeded but submission is unclear: Keep the transaction record, but verify the application’s final status separately. Payment evidence alone may not be the proof the institution requires.
- Print-to-PDF cuts off page content: Try the portal’s own download or print option first. If using the browser print dialog, review the preview and save only when the relevant page content is present.

Should I send the acknowledgement page to the university after saving it?

Does a PDF automatically count as official proof?
No. Its format does not determine acceptance. Use the record and proof requirements specified by your institution and admission cycle.
