On a Windows PC or Mac, open the product page, choose Print, select a PDF destination, check the preview, and save. On iPhone, Safari can save a webpage as a PDF, and supported screenshot flows can save a full-page capture. Use print-to-PDF for readable, paginated pages; use a full-page screenshot when the product page’s on-screen layout matters.
Choose the right kind of record
A print-to-PDF file lays a webpage out as conventional pages and may preserve selectable text. A full-page screenshot preserves the rendered appearance and arrangement more closely. These are useful for different purposes, and a print preview may not match the live page: Firefox notes that websites can arrange themselves differently for print. Check the saved file rather than assuming it reproduces the page exactly.
- Choose print-to-PDF when you want readable pages and text you may be able to select or search.
- Choose a full-page screenshot when you need the price, product image, selected variation, and seller to appear in their on-screen context.
- For an important comparison, keep both if practical: one captures a print layout, the other the rendered page.
Neither format by itself proves that a price was historically valid or captures every detail that was live on the page. Treat it as a record of what your capture shows, not as a tamper-proof or legally conclusive record.
Save a product page as a PDF on Windows
- Open the product page and wait for the price, product options, and other details you need to appear.
- Press Ctrl+P.
- In the printer or destination list, choose Microsoft Print to PDF or Save as PDF. The label depends on your browser and Windows setup.
- Choose Print, then select a filename and save location when prompted.
Windows 10 includes built-in PDF printing. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) also notes that Chrome has its own Save as PDF option on older Windows installations without Microsoft Print to PDF. Save a product page as a PDF on Mac
- Open the page and press Command+P.
- In the print dialog, open the PDF menu, usually at the lower left.
- Choose Save as PDF, enter a filename and select a location.
The available wording can vary by browser. These Mac steps are documented by the CFPB.
Save a product page as a PDF in Firefox on desktop
- Open the Firefox menu and choose Print.
- In the preview, set Destination to Save to PDF.
- Review the preview and adjust orientation, page range, color, paper size, scale, margins, headers and footers, or print backgrounds as needed.
- Save the PDF, then open it to check the result.
Pay particular attention to page edges and breaks if the price, selected option, or seller information sits near a boundary. Firefox warns that a page can be set up to look different on paper than on screen; if its exact visual arrangement matters, use a full-page screenshot instead. See Mozilla’s Firefox printing guide.
Save a full-page product screenshot on iPhone
Use the iPhone screenshot flow
- Take a screenshot: press the side button and volume-up button on an iPhone with Face ID, or the side button and Home button on an iPhone with a Home button.
- Tap the screenshot thumbnail, then choose Full Page if that option is available for the page.
- Review, crop, or annotate as needed. Apple documents viewing and saving screenshots; the exact PDF export path can depend on the app and iOS interface.

Firefox for iOS: screenshot to PDF
- Open the page in Firefox and take a screenshot.
- Open its thumbnail and tap Full Page.
- Tap Done, then choose Save as PDF.

Save a webpage as a PDF from Safari on iPhone
- Open the webpage in Safari.
- Tap the Page Menu, then Share.
- Choose Markup, then tap Done.
- Choose Save File To, name the file, and save it.

Check the capture before relying on it
A price record is only useful if it identifies what the price applied to and where it came from. Before saving, make sure the page clearly shows:

- The product name and the exact selected model, size, color, or other variant.
- The price and currency, plus the seller.
- Any promotion, coupon, subscription condition, shipping charge, or availability detail relevant to the comparison.
After saving, open the file and check that these details are legible and not clipped. Add the page URL and capture date and time in a note or filename; a saved page may not make that context obvious later. For example: 2026-10-03_store_product-name_price.pdf. Use the actual capture date, merchant, and product details in your own filename. These are practical recordkeeping steps, not guarantees supplied by the browser.

Troubleshooting
The PDF destination is missing
Check the browser’s destination or printer menu for Save as PDF. On Windows, look for Microsoft Print to PDF as well. Names and availability vary by browser and system.

The saved PDF differs from the page
Webpages can use a distinct print layout. Inspect the preview and saved file; in Firefox, adjust print settings such as scale, margins, paper size, and backgrounds. If the on-screen arrangement is essential, capture a full-page screenshot instead.
The price or seller is clipped or missing
Check print preview, page breaks, scale, and margins before saving. If the information is not included in the rendered PDF, use a full-page screenshot or capture the relevant page area in a separate record.

The iPhone flow does not show Full Page or Save as PDF
Availability and menu paths depend on the app and interface. Apple documents full-page capture for supported flows, while Mozilla documents the screenshot-to-PDF sequence in Firefox for iOS. If Safari’s controls are in a different place, look for the Page Menu and Share controls in the current tab layout.
You need an Android workflow
The official procedures cited here cover Windows, Mac, and iPhone. They do not establish current Android menu steps, so use the current instructions for your Android browser rather than assuming the labels or flow match iPhone or desktop.
Frequently asked questions
Does a saved PDF prove what the price was at the time?
It preserves the contents visible in that saved file, but it is not inherently tamper-proof or legally conclusive. Include the page URL and capture time as context.
Do I need a USB drive or paid app?
No. The documented browser workflows save to a chosen destination without requiring a paid app or special hardware. A separate drive can be an optional second copy, not a prerequisite.
