For an EPF passbook, use EPFO’s own Download Passbook option when it is available; that gives you the passbook PDF rather than a browser printout. For any other EPFO page, use your browser’s Print command, choose a PDF destination, check the preview, and save.
Choose the right way to save the record

These are not interchangeable: browser printing captures the rendered page; it does not turn it into an EPFO-issued passbook document. EPFO’s UAN member-portal manual describes the native passbook download, though its Version 1.1 interface may not match the current logged-in portal.
Download an EPF passbook PDF
- Go to the official EPFO member portal and sign in through the UAN member login.
- Open the passbook service and look for Download Passbook on the passbook screen. The EPFO manual describes this control as enabling a PDF download; current menu wording or placement may differ.
- Select the download control and save the file using your browser’s download prompt or normal download location.
- Open the PDF and verify that the expected account information and entries appear before filing it.
EPFO lists the Member Passbook service through its employee services and identifies the separate Pass Book portal. The service is also listed as accessible through UMANG. Availability can depend on the account and the route used; these are official entry points, not a guarantee that every route will work for every member.
Save another EPFO page as a PDF in Chrome
- Sign in through the official member portal and open the page you need to keep.
- On desktop Chrome, press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac. Google’s Chrome printing instructions describe opening the print dialog this way.
- Choose a PDF destination in the print dialog. The exact label and available options vary by operating system and device.
- Review the preview. Adjust page range or orientation if needed, and confirm that the information you need appears clearly.
- Save the PDF, open it, and check the text, dates, tables, and page count before filing it.
Browser-created PDFs reflect the content and layout the print view makes available. If a table, date, or other required detail is missing or hard to read in the preview, do not treat the saved copy as a complete record.

Check and file the PDF safely
- Use a filename that identifies the record and retrieval date, such as EPFO-claim-status-2026-10-03.pdf.
- Avoid putting your UAN, Aadhaar, PAN, or other sensitive identifiers in the filename unless your office policy requires it.
- Store the file in your organization’s approved records location and follow its access and retention rules.
- For an important record, keep the original EPFO-issued passbook PDF when available rather than relying on a browser printout.
If the portal or PDF does not work
The member portal is slow or a service is unavailable
The public member portal currently notes that services have been made live in phases following database consolidation and a software upgrade, and that claims or service requests may take longer during stabilization. That notice may explain access delays, but it does not change the PDF steps. Check the portal for current service notices and try an official passbook entry point listed above if appropriate.
You cannot find the passbook download control
The EPFO manual is an older guide, and current logged-in labels may differ. Check the passbook screen and EPFO’s official service listings. If no native download option is available for your account, do not assume that printing a browser page is the same as an official passbook PDF.

The PDF is blank, clipped, or missing information
Return to the print preview and inspect the page range, orientation, and visible content. If the necessary information still does not appear, use the passbook’s native download for a passbook, or consult the relevant EPFO service route rather than filing an incomplete printout.

The separate EPF Passbook & Claim Status login page warns users not to share personal or financial details or OTPs, and not to make payments in response to calls; it says EPFO does not call members or pensioners to request deposits. Use official EPFO pages and avoid acting on unsolicited requests.
