For a general GST Portal webpage, use your browser’s Print command and save the preview as a PDF. Turn on headers and footers if the browser offers that option, then check the preview: neither Chrome’s reviewed desktop instructions nor Edge’s reviewed instructions guarantee that both the page URL and date will appear. For a GST certificate or another supported official record, use the portal’s own PDF download when available.
Choose the right way to create the PDF

These routes are not interchangeable: native downloads apply to particular records, while print-to-PDF captures the page you are viewing. A browser-generated date is the date of printing, not proof of when GST information was published, took effect, or was updated.
Save a GST webpage as a PDF in Chrome

Open the GST Portal page you want to keep in Chrome on your computer.

Open the print dialog with Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac.

Choose Save as PDF as the destination, if it is offered.

Enable the available header/footer option, if shown. Do not assume it includes both the URL and date.

Inspect the preview, including the first and last pages. Save only after confirming that the page and any metadata you need are visible.

Chrome’s help documents the print shortcut and destination selection, but does not specify exactly which header fields desktop Chrome prints. If the preview does not show the URL or date, the saved file should not be treated as containing them. Chrome also offers More > More tools > Save page as for saving a webpage file; that is not the same as producing a PDF. On Android, Chrome’s print flow can offer Save as PDF and a location choice, but that does not establish that URL and date headers will be included. Save a GST webpage as a PDF in Microsoft Edge

Open the page in Edge and choose Print.

In the print dialog, open More settings > Headers and footers.

Check the preview. Microsoft says this option adds the current date to the header and a page number to the footer; its instructions do not confirm that the URL is included.

If the URL is absent, do not claim that the browser-generated PDF contains it. If useful, add the page address as clearly labeled supplemental information in the document, and distinguish it from portal-generated content.

Save the PDF, then open it and verify the first and last pages.

Download a GST certificate or ticket using portal controls
Registration certificate
The GST Portal user guide describes this route: sign in, open Services > User Services > View/Download Certificates, locate the certificate in the chronological list, and use its Download column. The guide says the registration certificate is downloaded as a PDF. Because the guide’s URL returned an error when checked and portal interfaces can change, confirm the current menu labels on the portal; use this route only if the service and download control are present. Grievance ticket
A GST Self Service Portal manual describes saving a ticket number as a PDF or printing a docket number from the status pop-up. That manual dates to 2018, so treat its steps as historical interface guidance, not a guarantee of today’s layout. It also describes PNG, JPG, and PDF attachments with a combined 5 MB limit; because that limit comes from the older manual, verify the current portal’s requirements before attaching evidence. A print date records when the browser printed the page. It does not establish the page’s publication, effective, or last-updated date.

A URL shown by the browser identifies the address used for printing; it does not authenticate the PDF as an official filing or a portal-issued record.

For a certificate or other official record, prefer the GST Portal’s native PDF download when one is available.

If the URL matters for your own filing or recordkeeping and the preview omits it, label any added address as supplemental metadata rather than implying the portal generated it.

Troubleshoot missing headers or an incomplete PDF

The URL or date is missing: Reopen the print preview and inspect the available header/footer settings. If the field is still absent, use a native portal download for official records or clearly label the URL separately; do not assume it is embedded.

The print dialog has no header/footer control: Options vary with browser, device, and managed configuration. Save only if the preview meets your needs; otherwise try another available browser print flow or the portal’s native record download.

The PDF has unexpected page breaks or omitted content: Review the full preview before saving and open the resulting PDF afterward. Browser print layout and margins can affect the result.

You need a certificate, not a visual copy of a page: Return to the relevant GST service and look for its official download control rather than relying on a printout.
