Screenshot.rocks captures the visible part of a GST Portal page as an image; its documented extension exports PNG, JPG, or SVG, not PDF. To save a page as a PDF, use Chrome’s Print > Save as PDF option, or use the GST Portal’s own PDF download when the specific record provides one. Screenshot.rocks is useful when you need an image of what is on screen, including a page behind a login.

Save a GST Portal page as a PDF in Chrome
- Open the page or record. If it requires authentication, sign in through the official GST Portal and navigate to the page you need. Confirm the relevant content has loaded.
- Open the print dialog. Press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac. Alternatively, use Chrome’s menu and choose Print.
- Choose the PDF destination. In the print dialog, set the destination to Save as PDF.
- Review the preview. Check that the needed text, tables, and page sections appear and are not cut off. Adjust available print settings if necessary.
- Save and verify the file. Choose Save, select a location, and open the resulting PDF to confirm it contains the intended pages.
Chrome documents this print-to-PDF workflow for computer browsers. The preview matters: a portal page’s print layout may differ from its on-screen layout, and content that loads only after scrolling or interaction may not appear as expected.
Check for a GST Portal download before printing
For a formal record, a portal-generated PDF may be preferable to printing the page. GSTN’s certificate guide gives this specific path for issued certificates: sign in, open Services > User Services > View/Download Certificates, then use the control in the Download column. The guide says the registration certificate is in PDF format. This documented example applies to certificates; it does not establish that every GST Portal page or record has a native PDF download.

For other records, look for a download control on the record itself. If none is offered and you need a PDF copy of the page, use Chrome’s print flow and verify the output. For example, GSTN’s GSTR-9 utility guide describes an authenticated route to preview a return form: log in, go to Services > Returns > Annual Return, choose a financial year, search, and prepare online. Use Screenshot.rocks when an image is what you need
- Open the relevant GST Portal page in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge and make sure the section you want is visible.
- Click the Screenshot.rocks extension button. Its guide says the visible part of the current tab opens in the Screenshot.rocks editor.
- Choose the image style and an export format listed by the extension. The Chrome Web Store listing names PNG, JPG, and SVG; it does not list PDF.
For a page that extends beyond the viewport, Screenshot.rocks’ guide says to use the browser’s full-page screenshot and then drop that image into its editor. A full-page screenshot is still an image, not a paginated PDF. If a PDF is required, print the page to PDF and inspect its preview rather than treating a long screenshot as a PDF equivalent.
Protect taxpayer and business information
A GST page may show personal, taxpayer, or business details. Screenshot.rocks’ guide says the extension sends the screenshot to Screenshot.rocks so it can open in the editor tab, while stating that the image is not stored. Consider whether sending the visible page to an external editor is appropriate for the information on screen. If not, use the browser’s local print-to-PDF route where suitable, or obscure sensitive details before sharing an image. Do not include credentials, OTPs, or unnecessary personal or tax data in a shared screenshot.

Troubleshooting
The saved PDF is blank or missing information
Wait for the page content to finish loading, then reopen Print and review the preview. If the required content does not appear there, check whether the portal offers a native download for that record. Some pages may not print every interactive or dynamically loaded element as it appears on screen.
The PDF cuts off a table or page section
Inspect the print preview before saving. Try the available print layout settings, then recheck every page of the preview. If the content remains incomplete, use a portal-provided PDF when one exists; do not assume that a single screenshot can preserve a long page as a paginated document.

Screenshot.rocks does not produce a PDF
The cited listing names PNG, JPG, and SVG exports, not PDF. Use Chrome’s Print > Save as PDF for a PDF, or choose an image export if a screenshot is sufficient.
The Screenshot.rocks image is incomplete
The extension guide describes capturing the visible portion of the tab. Bring the desired content into view before capture. For a long page, use the browser’s full-page screenshot workflow described in the guide, then open that image in the editor.

The extension guide says the screenshot is sent to Screenshot.rocks to open in the editor tab, though it also says the image is not stored. If that handling is unsuitable for the data displayed, avoid sending the screenshot; use an appropriate local print-to-PDF workflow or redact the image before sharing.
