Use Chrome DevTools’ Capture full size screenshot command to save the entire rendered GST Portal page, including content below the visible screen. It is built into Chrome, so you do not need an extension for a basic full-page capture. If you need an official return, filing artifact, or structured data, first check whether that GST workflow offers its own download or preview.
Capture the full page in Chrome

Open the GST Portal page in Chrome and wait for the content you need to appear.

Open DevTools by pressing F12 on many Windows and Linux setups, or right-click the page and choose Inspect.

Open the DevTools Command Menu: press Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+P on macOS.

Search for screenshot, then select Capture full size screenshot. Chrome saves the captured page as an image.

Open the saved image and check that the relevant content is present and legible before you keep or share it.
Chrome’s full-size capture is intended to include page content that is outside the current viewport. The regular Capture screenshot command captures only the visible view. The exact menu placement can vary by Chrome version; searching for “screenshot” in the Command Menu is a practical way to find the full-size command. Chrome DevTools: Capture a screenshot

You can also capture the page from Device mode. Open Device mode in DevTools, open its More options menu, and choose Capture a full size screenshot. The same menu includes Capture screenshot for the current viewport only. If the option is hard to locate, use the Command Menu method above. Decide whether an image is the right record
A screenshot is an image of how a page was rendered; it is not a portal-generated PDF, spreadsheet, or filing record. If you need to preserve a return, a preview, or data for further use, look for the relevant download or preview in that particular GST workflow. Portal controls differ by form, so do not assume a download available on one form exists everywhere.

For a record of the page’s visible appearance, use the Chrome full-size screenshot and retain the image separately from any portal-generated file.
The GSTR-1 guide describes the route through Services > Returns > Returns Dashboard after signing in at gst.gov.in. The GSTR-5A FAQ also describes the Returns Dashboard route for its form workflow. Check the image, especially on a dynamic page
DevTools provides a full-size page capture, but that does not guarantee every dynamic, lazy-loaded, embedded, or independently scrollable area on every page will appear as intended. Review the output rather than assuming the image contains every detail.

Confirm that content below the fold is present.

Check that important text is readable and not obscured by a loading state or overlay.

If a section loads only after scrolling or interaction, wait for it or perform the needed interaction before capturing, then inspect the result.

If a page contains an independently scrolling panel, check that panel separately; a full-page capture does not itself establish that all of its off-screen contents are included.
Optional alternatives
Use a full-page screenshot extension
An extension such as GoFullPage – Full Page Screen Capture is an optional alternative; its Chrome Web Store listing describes full-page capture and image or PDF downloads. Check the extension’s current details and permissions before installing it. For a one-off capture, Chrome’s built-in DevTools command avoids adding an extension.

Troubleshooting
The screenshot only shows what was on screen
You likely chose Capture screenshot, which captures the current viewport. Reopen the Command Menu with Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+P on macOS, search for “screenshot,” and choose Capture full size screenshot.
The command is not where expected
Chrome’s menus can vary by version. Use the DevTools Command Menu search instead of relying on a fixed menu position. Alternatively, open Device mode and inspect More options.
Some content is missing or looks incomplete
Wait for the page to finish loading and for the specific content you need to appear, then capture again. Inspect the image for lazy-loaded or embedded content and for sections with their own scrolling. If the missing information is part of a form or data workflow, check whether the GST Portal provides a dedicated preview or download rather than treating a screenshot as a substitute.

Use the portal’s relevant form-specific preview or download when available. For example, the GSTR-5A FAQ documents a PDF preview, while the GSTR-1 guide documents an Excel download for e-invoice details. Neither example means the same file type is available for every GST Portal page.
