For distinct Hindi and Tamil programming, the clearest setup is usually one YouTube channel for each language, with playlists organized inside each channel. You can manage both channels from one Google Account, but YouTube acts on whichever channel is selected—so check the channel name and icon before you create a playlist, upload a video, or make an edit.
Choose between separate channels and one multilingual channel
Separate channels give Hindi and Tamil programming distinct channel identities and keep each channel’s playlists focused on its language. Choose this arrangement when viewers should be able to find and follow each language’s programming independently. YouTube’s controls let you manage channels and playlists; they do not establish that one arrangement will perform better with audiences.
A single channel with language-specific playlists may be simpler if you want one publishing identity and one place for viewers to browse both languages. If you later decide to split or move content, plan carefully: YouTube says separate channels cannot be merged or linked, and channel data cannot be transferred automatically. - Create or choose each channel. A personal channel is managed by its owner. A channel using a business or other name can be associated with a Brand Account, which can have more than one owner or manager. Follow YouTube’s channel-creation guidance for the account setup that fits your publishing identity.
- Switch to the channel you intend to manage. On YouTube, open your profile picture, select Switch account, then choose the Hindi or Tamil channel. Check the displayed name and icon to confirm the active channel before continuing. One Google Account can manage up to 100 channels, but only one is active at a time. - If a channel is missing, check access. YouTube directs users to Studio to switch channels or to confirm that their Google Account is listed as a Brand Account manager.
Create a language playlist in YouTube Studio
- Switch to the channel that should own the playlist and verify its name and icon.
- Open YouTube Studio on a computer and choose CREATE → New playlist.
- Enter a clear title and description, select the playlist visibility, set the video arrangement, add videos, and create the playlist.
- Repeat the process in the other language channel. Use explicit names such as “Hindi – [series or topic]” and “Tamil – [series or topic]” so creators and viewers can distinguish the rotations at a glance. These naming examples are organizational suggestions, not YouTube requirements.
YouTube Studio playlist titles are limited to 150 characters and descriptions to 5,000 characters. The details include title, description, visibility, and language fields. Keep each rotation in the intended order
In Studio, open Content → Playlists to find and maintain playlists for the selected channel. Edit a playlist on YouTube to reorder videos by dragging, change its details, share it, add collaborators, or add videos from search, a URL, or the video library. Keep the order deliberate if viewers are expected to follow a series or a recurring sequence.
On Android, the YouTube Studio app also lets you manage playlist membership from a video: open Content, tap the options beside the video, edit it, select or deselect playlists, and save. Check visibility, access, and playlist limits
- Visibility: Choose public, private, or unlisted according to who should be able to find or access the playlist. You can see public, private, and unlisted playlists in YouTube’s You tab.
- Made-for-kids content: YouTube says a made-for-kids video or channel cannot be added to a playlist from a homepage, although it may still be possible to add content from search results.
- Creation limits: YouTube documents a daily limit on creating public playlists across YouTube, YouTube Music, and the API. Advanced-feature access may raise the limit; the cited help page does not state a fixed number.
- Displayed videos: YouTube’s desktop help says a maximum of 5,000 videos can be displayed in a playlist.
