You can run a prerecorded yoga program on YouTube Live from an Indian VPS by using the VPS as an encoder host, sending its output to YouTube’s ingest endpoint with the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio, and keeping the encoder process running. For a dependable setup, use RTMPS, choose YouTube’s bitrate settings for your resolution and frame rate, confirm the VPS can sustain the upload with headroom, and arrange separate recording if you need a complete archive. No particular low-cost VPS plan or price is established here, so verify the provider’s current region, transfer limits, sustained bandwidth, CPU capacity, and continuous-use terms before paying.
What you need before starting
This workflow is for sending a prerecorded or otherwise encoded yoga feed from a virtual private server (VPS) to YouTube Live. The VPS runs the encoder and sends the stream; YouTube supplies the destination ingest endpoint. It is not a guide to going live from a camera, and a VPS provider’s advertised port speed alone does not prove it can sustain an uninterrupted broadcast.
- A verified YouTube channel that meets YouTube’s live-stream eligibility requirements.
- A yoga video or encoder input that you have the rights to broadcast, including any music, voice, and footage.
- An Indian-region VPS, if serving viewers or operating from India makes that location useful, with enough sustained outbound bandwidth and transfer allowance for your chosen bitrate.
- An encoder such as FFmpeg, configured to send the feed to YouTube. The exact command and service configuration depend on the source and VPS operating system; the setup below describes the required YouTube-side configuration and checks, not a tested FFmpeg deployment.
- A plan for monitoring the process and keeping an independent recording if you need a full archive.
YouTube’s current getting-started guidance says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days; it also sets a minimum age of 16 for live streaming. Check YouTube’s live-stream eligibility guidance before setting up the VPS.
Choose a VPS for continuous outbound streaming
Compare providers on the workload rather than the advertised port speed alone. A yoga stream running continuously sends a large amount of data over the month, and the VPS may also need CPU capacity if it encodes video in real time rather than relaying an already encoded source.

- Location and route: Confirm that the provider currently offers the Indian region you want and that the network route to YouTube’s ingest endpoint is suitable.
- Sustained outbound capacity: Ask whether the stated bandwidth can be sustained continuously. Test the actual VPS and route; do not treat a headline port speed or an “unmetered” label as proof.
- Transfer and cost: Check monthly outbound transfer allowances, egress charges, overage rates, and the total cost at your planned bitrate.
- CPU and storage: If encoding on the VPS, verify its CPU architecture and capacity for your chosen codec, resolution, and frame rate. If keeping a local archive on the VPS, allow for recording storage as well.
- Continuous-use rules and support: Check acceptable-use terms for uninterrupted streaming, plus available monitoring, restart facilities, and support.
No specific Indian VPS provider, plan, price, transfer allowance, or continuous-streaming permission is established by the cited sources. Confirm those details with the provider before purchasing.
Set up the YouTube Live destination
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream using YouTube’s encoder setup workflow.
- Copy the server URL and stream key YouTube gives you. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it, share it, or include it in public scripts or logs. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- Enter the YouTube-generated endpoint and key in your encoder. Prefer RTMPS, YouTube’s secure RTMP connection, and use the endpoint details supplied for your stream rather than guessing a hostname or path.
- Start the encoder and check the Live Control Room preview and stream health before relying on the feed. YouTube recommends testing the actual setup and monitoring stream health; a successful connection by itself does not prove the VPS can sustain the broadcast.
Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide specifies RTMP over SSL using the rtmps protocol, a valid YouTube ingestion endpoint and path, port 443, and the correct server hostname for SNI. Preserve the endpoint YouTube supplies and configure the encoder to satisfy those connection requirements.
Choose resolution, bitrate, and keyframes
YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds), and supports H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video with AAC or MP3 audio for RTMP/RTMPS. Its published H.264 recommendations include the following video bitrates:

These are YouTube’s encoder recommendations, not evidence that a particular VPS or route can sustain them. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for its current guidance. Pick a resolution and frame rate your source and audience need, then test the actual output; a higher setting increases bandwidth use and may increase encoding load.
YouTube says the stream bitrate must fit the available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% headroom above the total bitrate being sent. For example, if your total outgoing audio-and-video bitrate is 10 Mbps, plan for more than 10 Mbps of sustained available upload capacity rather than treating 10 Mbps as a safe ceiling. The 20% guidance is a recommendation, not a guarantee of performance. Use YouTube’s streaming tips to test representative motion and audio, inspect the Live Control Room preview and stream health, and monitor while the stream runs.
The National Informatics Centre states that its own webcast service requires 2–4 Mbps of dedicated bandwidth per stream. That India-specific figure is NIC guidance for its service, not a YouTube bitrate requirement; it cannot replace the encoder bitrate selected for your YouTube stream or testing of your VPS.

Keep the encoder running and check continuity
For an always-on broadcast, the encoder process must remain active and the VPS must keep sending data. The cited YouTube documentation establishes the ingest connection and recommended encoder settings; it does not specify a VPS provider, FFmpeg command, systemd unit, automatic-restart configuration, or monitoring system. Choose and validate those separately for your source, operating system, and provider rather than assuming a sample process will run reliably for 24 hours.

- Check the Live Control Room preview and stream health during a representative test and during operation.
- Confirm what happens if the source ends, the encoder exits, the VPS reboots, or the network connection fails; use provider or operating-system monitoring and restart facilities appropriate to your setup.
- Keep a separate recording if you need a dependable copy of the whole program. YouTube says a stream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all; it recommends a local archive backup. See YouTube’s archive guidance.
Protect rights and avoid live-stream interruptions
You must have the rights needed to broadcast every part of the yoga program, including recorded footage, spoken instruction, and music. YouTube’s livestream terms say creators represent and warrant that they have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation of live content on Google services, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other rights participants. Review the Livestream terms and conditions and the relevant rights-holder terms before broadcasting.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. Its copyright guidance for live streams says it may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it if matching content remains or a relevant strike applies. Secure rights for the yoga video and audio; where a rights holder requires it, follow its Content ID allowlisting instructions. A stream staying online technically does not mean its content is cleared for YouTube.

Estimate monthly transfer from the total stream bitrate and intended hours, then compare it with the provider’s written allowance and overage terms. Verify the current India-region availability and continuous-use policy directly with each provider; no specific provider price or suitable plan is established here.
