Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Add accessibility checks to Cypress as a layer alongside your end-to-end and component tests. A practical setup combines automated scans of representative screens with Cypress assertions for your app’s labels, alternatives, keyboard behavior, and focus—and with manual review. A clean scan is useful evidence about the tested state, not proof of accessibility or WCAG conformance.
Choose how Cypress will check accessibility
There are three complementary routes. The community cypress-axe plugin runs Axe Core checks inside Cypress tests; Cypress Accessibility analyzes captured test snapshots in Cypress Cloud; and explicit Cypress assertions check expected behavior that a generic ruleset cannot infer. They can be combined rather than treated as mutually exclusive choices.
| Approach | Where it runs | Best suited to | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
cypress-axe |
During Cypress test execution | Fast feedback on selected pages and components, including in CI | Scans add runtime as they accumulate; the plugin is community maintained. Follow its current setup documentation for installation and support details. |
| Cypress Accessibility | Cypress Cloud against captured test snapshots | Teams that want cloud-generated accessibility reports from recorded runs | It is a paid premium product. Its defaults do not cover every rule or criterion. |
| Explicit assertions and manual review | In tests and by human reviewers | Checking product intent, interaction, content, and gaps in automated coverage | Requires deliberate test design and reviewer time. |
Cypress describes the plugin approach and its checkA11y() command in its accessibility testing guide. For current installation and support instructions, use the maintained cypress-axe setup documentation rather than relying on version-specific commands that may have changed.
Build a useful test workflow
- Pick important journeys. Start with flows where an access barrier could prevent a user from completing a task, such as sign-up, checkout, and forms.
- Exercise meaningful states. Scan more than an untouched initial page: include relevant validation, open menus, dialogs, and other states reached in the journey. Cypress recommends covering a component’s accessibility in a component test or workflow at least once.
- Run automated scans after the interface settles. With
cypress-axeconfigured, callcheckA11y()on the current page or component. Choose relevant rules and decide whether findings should fail the test. In Cypress Accessibility, captured snapshots are analyzed in Cloud. - Add assertions for intended behavior. Verify key controls’ accessible names and semantic elements, expected alternative text where an image conveys meaning, and keyboard interaction and focus behavior.
- Review findings before making them build gates. Investigate what a rule reported and whether it applies to the tested context. In Cypress Accessibility, the Results API can help determine which findings block a CI build while keeping other findings visible.
- Retain manual checks. Review keyboard-only use, relevant assistive-technology experiences, content, and expected behavior. Automated findings are signals to investigate, not a complete accessibility verdict.
What automated scans cover—and what they do not
Cypress Accessibility’s default ruleset uses Axe Core’s default coverage for WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A and AA, and includes Deque Best Practices. The Best Practices findings are not automatically WCAG failures. Three WCAG-tagged rules—color-contrast, no-autoplay-audio, and meta-refresh—are disabled by default in Cypress Accessibility. WCAG 2.2, Level AAA, experimental, and deprecated rule groups are also off by default unless Cypress enables them for the project. See Cypress’s Axe Core configuration for rule details.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Cypress says the ruleset can be tuned for a target standard through its support process. Even a tuned automated ruleset cannot evaluate every success criterion or determine whether content and interaction work for people in every situation. A scan with no applicable findings means only that the tool found none within its tested scope.
Page tests and component tests have different scope
For component testing, Cypress Accessibility skips page-level rules that do not sensibly apply to an isolated fragment, such as document title, language, main landmark, and top-level heading checks. Component-level checks such as button naming and image alternative text still apply. Use end-to-end coverage for page structure and component tests for reusable component behavior.

Add explicit keyboard, label, and content checks
Generic scanning cannot know every intended name, message, or interaction in your application. Add assertions that encode what users should encounter. For example, assert that a checkout field has its intended label, that a meaningful image exposes the expected alternative text, and that a control can be reached and operated by keyboard with focus in the expected place.
Cypress identifies cy.press() as a way to dispatch native Tab events for keyboard-navigation checks. Use it to exercise a real navigation sequence and assert the resulting focus, rather than assuming that a scan establishes keyboard usability. These are examples of test goals, not a universal test script: selectors, expected labels, and focus destinations depend on your interface.

Use the findings responsibly in CI
Start by collecting findings on representative flows, then decide which ones should block a build. A failing automated check is actionable only after the team understands the finding and its impact; conversely, a passing scan does not demonstrate that untested states are sound. Keep non-blocking findings visible so teams can track them rather than silently treating every report item as a WCAG violation.
Cypress’s automation principles page repeats a Deque Systems estimate that automated checks detect up to 57% of issues that would appear in a manual accessibility audit. The cited page does not state the estimate’s year, and it is not a guarantee for a particular application. Cypress also cautions that automated checks do not replace human judgment. See Cypress accessibility testing and Cypress automation principles.

Troubleshoot common problems
checkA11y()is unavailable: the command has not been registered or the plugin setup is incomplete. Follow the current cypress-axe setup instructions, then confirm the support-file setup before invoking the command.- The scan runs but misses a defect: it only evaluates applicable automated rules on the state it examined. Navigate to the state in question, add a specific assertion, or include a manual check for behavior or meaning a rule cannot determine.
- A component scan reports a page-level concern: isolated components lack some document context. Use an end-to-end page test for title, language, landmarks, and top-level structure; reserve component checks for applicable component behavior.
- A finding is labeled Best Practices: Cypress Accessibility’s default set includes Deque Best Practices as well as WCAG-tagged rules. Determine the rule category and meaning before describing it as a WCAG failure or making it a build gate.
- A clean report is being treated as certification: narrow the claim to the tested state and applicable rules. Add manual keyboard and assistive-technology review plus assertions for expected behavior.

If your goal is to capture a site screenshot rather than run accessibility tests, ScreenshotNeo provides a one-request screenshot API. It accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses indicate the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents.
