Yes—you can run an audio-led YouTube radio station over JioFiber if your connection can sustain the encoder’s upload bitrate, your channel is eligible for live streaming, and you have the rights to broadcast every track. The practical setup is a computer or encoder sending audio plus a simple visual to YouTube Live. Check your actual upload performance rather than relying on the plan name, test the complete program before launch, and resolve music rights before going live.
What you need before you start
- A verified YouTube channel with live streaming enabled and no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s current activation guidance says streamers must be at least 16. See YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.
- A computer running streaming software or another encoder, an audio program, and a visual feed. A static station image is a simple, low-bandwidth option; YouTube’s encoder guidance does not prescribe a particular visual design.
- A JioFiber connection with enough stable upload capacity for the selected video and audio settings, plus room for ordinary variation and other devices.
- Permission to livestream the music you use, including any required public-performance rights and Content ID allowlisting.
Jio’s plan comparison page has shown examples of 30 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 150 Mbps with matching advertised upload and download rates. Those are examples from the page, not a guarantee of availability in every area or of current terms for your address. Check your local plan details at JioFiber and test the connection you will actually broadcast from.

Measure the connection at broadcast time
Run a speed test from the computer and location you intend to use. Repeat at the time of day the station will be live, and during normal household internet use. YouTube recommends testing upload bitrate rather than assuming the connection will perform at the advertised rate; its encoder guidance is at YouTube’s live encoder settings page.
Choose settings that leave headroom above the combined stream bitrate. A test is a snapshot, not a promise of uninterrupted service, and simultaneous uploads or other active devices can consume capacity. If performance varies, lower the video bitrate or resolution and test again.

Use Ethernet if it improves the local link
A wired Ethernet connection from a compatible router to the streaming computer can avoid some local Wi-Fi variability. It is optional: it does not increase the subscribed internet rate or guarantee that the JioFiber connection will never drop. If you use Wi-Fi, test from the computer’s actual operating position rather than beside the router.
Prepare the radio program
Combine audio with a visual feed
YouTube Live is a video-streaming workflow, so pair the radio audio with a visual output. A station artwork image with the program name is a low-bandwidth choice; a lightweight visualizer adds movement but may call for more video bitrate. For a presenter-led show, connect and test the microphone separately. No particular microphone model is required by YouTube’s encoder guidance.

Check levels and continuity
Listen to the encoder’s output monitor or a private test stream. Confirm that music and speech are audible, levels are consistent and not clipping, and the displayed artwork or visualizer is correct. Check transitions and any scheduled playlist changes before promoting a 24/7 schedule.

- Enable live streaming. Verify the channel and complete any activation YouTube requires. Confirm that the channel has no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days and meets YouTube’s age requirement. YouTube describes encoder streaming as a way to go live in its live-streaming setup guidance.
- Create or schedule a stream. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room, create or schedule the broadcast, and use the stream details it provides for your encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or share it, and reset it if it is exposed.
- Select a supported ingest format. YouTube lists RTMP/RTMPS ingest and H.264, H.265, or AV1 video encoding. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which encrypts the connection using SSL. For the correct YouTube RTMPS endpoint and port, see YouTube’s RTMPS ingestion documentation. Most creators should use the server and stream-key details shown in Live Control Room rather than construct an API request.
- Start with a modest video setting. For a mostly static, audio-first station, 720p at 30 fps is a reasonable starting point if you want a video image. YouTube’s current H.264 recommendation is 3 Mbps for 720p30; for 1080p30 it is 5 Mbps. A lower resolution can be appropriate when upload capacity is constrained or the visual is simple.
- Set rate control and keyframes. YouTube’s H.264 guidance specifies constant bitrate (CBR) and recommends a two-second keyframe interval, with a maximum interval of four seconds. YouTube supports up to 60 fps, but a static radio image generally does not need a high frame rate.
- Set audio encoding. Use AAC or MP3. YouTube recommends stereo at 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps for stereo audio. These are encoder input recommendations, not a guarantee of any viewer’s playback quality.
- Test the actual output. Send the real kind of audio and visual movement you will use. Check audio presence and levels, the picture, and stream health in Live Control Room before sharing the public schedule.
Test and monitor the station
Do not rely on a short test with a silent or still encoder scene if the real program has music changes, transitions, or a visualizer. YouTube recommends realistic testing and monitoring stream health while live. Keep both the encoder and Live Control Room visible when practical, and check YouTube’s stream-health messages for ingestion problems.

- If the stream becomes unstable, reduce video bitrate or resolution, stop competing uploads, and test again.
- If audio is missing or distorted, check the encoder’s selected audio source, output routing, and levels before restarting.
- If the image is wrong, check the selected scene or visual source in the encoder and verify it in the Live Control Room preview.
Clear music rights before broadcasting
Do not assume that buying a track, finding it labelled “free,” or having a license for standard on-demand videos automatically grants the rights needed for a continuous YouTube radio livestream. YouTube’s Terms of Service put responsibility for obtaining necessary rights on the broadcaster, including music licensing and public-performance rights.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. Its copyright guidance for live streams warns that a stream may be interrupted or terminated, including when content is licensed but the channel has not been allowlisted through Content ID. If you have a license, ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist and confirm in writing that the license covers livestreaming, your intended territories, any archived replay, and the planned duration.

YouTube Creator Music is not a workaround for a radio livestream: its usage details describe tracks for long-form videos, not live streams, and the stated availability is for U.S. YouTube Partner Program creators, with expansion beyond the U.S. pending.
