To run gospel music nonstop on YouTube, send a playlist-based audio-and-visual program to YouTube Live through an encoder, such as OBS. First confirm your channel can livestream and that you have rights for every recording and composition; then connect the encoder to a stream in YouTube Studio, test the preview, and monitor the broadcast. A playlist alone does not create a live stream or grant permission to rebroadcast its music.
Before you start: channel access and music rights
Check that the channel can livestream
YouTube Help says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. The stated minimum age to livestream is 16. First-time live-streaming activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned launch. Requirements can change; check YouTube’s current live-streaming eligibility instructions before you schedule a broadcast.
Confirm permission for every song and recording
Make an inventory of the compositions and specific recordings in your playlist. Confirm that the permissions cover your channel, the territories where the stream will be available, continuous live transmission, and any saved or archived copy you intend to keep. Buying a recording, finding it on YouTube, or adding it to a playlist does not by itself establish rebroadcast rights.

Build the playlist program
An encoder sends an audiovisual feed to YouTube Live. For a simple radio-style broadcast, the feed can combine playlist audio with a still image or changing visuals that you have permission to use. The playlist supplies the music sequence; the encoder supplies the live feed. YouTube’s encoder streaming guide describes software and hardware encoder options, including OBS, but does not certify a particular playlist automation application as a guaranteed continuous-stream solution.
- Check that the playlist plays in the intended order and that playback can continue through its end, including any transition or repeat behavior your player offers.
- Check audio levels and confirm that the visuals are authorized for livestream use.
- Test the complete audio-and-visual path for long enough to catch playlist gaps, silence, or playback stopping at the end.
Set up YouTube Live and connect the encoder
- Open Live Control Room: In YouTube Studio, open Create and choose Go live. Create a stream or select the stream you intend to use. YouTube’s interface labels may change, so follow the current encoder setup guide if the menu differs.
- Choose visibility: Set the stream to public, unlisted, or private according to the intended audience and test needs.
- Copy the connection details: Copy the server URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room into the corresponding fields in your encoder. The stream key directs the encoder feed to the correct YouTube stream; treat it like a password.
- Start the encoder: Start playlist playback and begin streaming from the encoder. Wait for the incoming signal and preview in Live Control Room before starting the live broadcast there.
- Go live and monitor: Once the preview is correct, begin the broadcast in Live Control Room. Check that the audio is audible, the image is present, and the stream status remains healthy.
If you think the stream key has been exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and replace the key in the encoder before sending another feed.

Keep the stream stable and plan its length
Bandwidth and monitoring
YouTube advises matching the encoder bitrate to the available upload bandwidth and leaving headroom rather than using the connection’s full capacity. Its streaming setup tips also warn that network disruptions can break a stream. Test the actual connection and full playlist setup before promoting a long broadcast, then monitor the Live Control Room status along with the audio and video. Ethernet is an option for compatible equipment, not a YouTube requirement or a guarantee against interruptions.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Do not assume a single archive for a longer-than-12-hour broadcast
YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. They do not establish the same automatic archive behavior for streams lasting longer. If you need a saved copy or an uninterrupted program beyond that period, plan the session length and any lawful local recording or separate-session approach in advance; check YouTube’s current guidance for your specific stream.

Copyright checks can interrupt a technically healthy stream
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including copyrighted material appearing in another live broadcast. If a match is detected, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop transmitting the material; if it remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. A license does not necessarily prevent an automated interruption. YouTube advises creators who have licensed third-party content to ask the rights owner to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
Troubleshoot common problems
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Live Control Room does not receive a signal | The encoder is stopped, or the server URL or stream key does not match the selected stream. | Check the encoder is running and re-copy the connection details from the correct Live Control Room stream. If the key may be compromised, reset it and update the encoder. |
| The preview appears, but the stream is not public | The broadcast has not been started in Live Control Room, or visibility is not set as intended. | Confirm visibility and start the broadcast in Live Control Room after checking the preview. |
| Audio or visuals disappear during playback | The playlist, source player, or visual source may have stopped or reached an unexpected end. | Test the complete playback path before launch, check the source and transitions, and monitor the live output. |
| Stream quality drops or the connection disconnects | The upload connection may not sustain the encoder bitrate or may be disrupted. | Check upload capacity, reduce bitrate to a level the connection can sustain, leave bandwidth headroom, and test again. Monitor stream status during the broadcast. |
| YouTube interrupts the stream despite a working encoder | Automated copyright detection may have matched third-party content. | Review the Live Control Room notice, stop transmitting disputed material, and resolve rights with the owner. If the material is licensed, request Content ID allowlisting for the channel. |
| A long broadcast does not produce the expected archive | The stream may have lasted 12 hours or more; YouTube states automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours. | Plan duration and a lawful recording or session strategy ahead of time; do not rely on an automatic archive for a longer run. |
