You can keep a Hindi news program live on YouTube around the clock by sending a continuous encoder stream—or by using a cloud service that loops uploaded videos. The harder question comes first: do you own or have permission to use the news footage, music, images, scripts, and archives? A straight replay of another broadcaster’s feed carries substantial rights, interruption, and monetization risks. For a more defensible channel, build original recaps or explainers, or add meaningful commentary to footage you are licensed to use.
Choose a format before planning 24/7 playback
“Replay channel” can mean anything from rerunning your own reports to rebroadcasting another outlet’s live feed. Those are not equivalent. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for live content on Google services, and those rights may need to cover the territories where the stream is available as well as any archive or replay. Keep written permission that identifies the material, platform, territory, duration, and archive rights.

YouTube’s channel monetization policy says borrowed material needs to be changed significantly to become the creator’s own. Its reused-content policy is separate from copyright permission: even licensed material may not be enough if the channel adds little original value. YouTube may review the channel’s theme, top and newest videos, share of watch time, metadata, and About section; repetitive, mass-produced, or templated programming can also be a monetization problem.

Clear rights for every part of the program
Make a rights inventory
List each recurring element: footage, music, still images, graphics, scripts, voiceovers, and archive segments. For material you did not create, obtain written authorization covering YouTube live use and, if you plan to leave the stream available, the archived replay as well. A license that covers a clip for a website or a short social post may not cover a continuous YouTube broadcast in every territory.

Resolve Content ID before going live
If you have a license for a broadcast or clip, ask the rights holder whether the channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube notes that a licensed stream may still be interrupted if the channel is not allowlisted. Keep the permission and any allowlisting confirmation accessible to whoever is supervising the stream. Also plan for possible Content ID claims on the archived video after a live stream ends.
Check India-specific obligations with qualified advice
India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting describes Part III of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 as covering publishers of news and current affairs on digital media and providing a Code of Ethics and a three-tier grievance mechanism. A 2021 Press Information Bureau announcement also discussed journalistic norms and the Cable Television Networks Programme Code in relation to digital-news publishers. These descriptions do not decide whether a particular YouTube channel, operator, or format is subject to a specific obligation. The answer can depend on the operator’s location, business structure, audience territory, and editorial model; get current India-specific legal advice before relying on a general summary.

Set up a continuous encoder stream
This is the do-it-yourself route: a streaming encoder sends your program to YouTube, while a computer or dedicated encoder, network connection, and operator plan keep the output running. YouTube’s encoder guidance is the technical baseline; it does not promise uninterrupted 24-hour operation or prescribe a particular hardware, automation, or failover design.
- Prepare a program source. Assemble only material you created or have cleared for the intended live use and archive. Arrange original segments so the schedule has meaningful editorial variation rather than endlessly repeating a minimally changed template.
- Create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio. In YouTube Studio, open Create, choose Go live, and use the streaming-encoder workflow. Set the stream title, description, audience and visibility deliberately. Copy the stream key into the encoder’s destination settings; treat it like a password, do not publish it, and restrict access to people who need it. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in the live control room before continuing.
- Configure the encoder to YouTube’s current specifications. YouTube recommends RTMPS. Its guidance describes H.264, H.265, or AV1 video, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate encoding, and a two-second keyframe interval (not over four seconds). As one published example, YouTube recommends 6 Mbps for H.264 at 720p and 30 fps. Choose a resolution and bitrate that your upload connection can sustain consistently; do not assume a peak speed test represents stable performance over a full day.
- Run a representative preflight. Test footage with motion, graphics, speech, music where licensed, and the actual audio levels. Confirm that the encoder is sending to the intended stream, then monitor YouTube’s stream-health messages. Check both picture and sound from a separate playback device before leaving the program unattended.
- Start the stream and supervise it. Watch YouTube’s stream-health status and the encoder’s output. Assign a person to respond to network loss, encoder failure, rights complaints, audio or picture problems, and unexpected content. Keep a prepared replacement segment or a deliberate way to stop the stream; an unattended loop is not an incident-response plan.
- Plan archive handling and handoffs. Decide whether the live replay should remain available afterward, who checks claims or restrictions, and who takes over monitoring across shifts. YouTube’s guidance recommends testing and monitoring, but does not validate a particular 24/7 failover arrangement. Build and test your own recovery procedure rather than treating any single computer, connection, or encoder as guaranteed.
Troubleshoot the common failure points

Understand YouTube monetization eligibility
YouTube’s Help page, checked on October 3, 2026, listed an early-access Partner Program tier at 500 subscribers, three public uploads in the previous 90 days, and either 3,000 qualified long-form watch hours in 365 days or three million qualified Shorts views in 90 days. It listed Watch Page ads at 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualified long-form hours in 365 days or ten million qualified Shorts views in 90 days. These are platform eligibility thresholds, not revenue forecasts; YouTube can change them, so check its current Partner Program requirements before making plans.

Eligible live streams can earn Watch Page ad and Premium revenue only after the creator accepts the Watch Page Monetization Module. Meeting the numerical thresholds does not guarantee that a channel or any individual stream will be approved or monetized. Rights compliance, original contribution, and the channel’s broader policy status remain relevant.
Cost and operating trade-offs
A self-hosted encoder workflow may use software or optional dedicated hardware; YouTube’s encoder guidance does not require a particular hardware model. Budget for the equipment you choose, power, a stable upload connection, storage and maintenance, and human supervision. The real operating cost includes recovery and monitoring, not just the device that sends the video.

A cloud loop trades local equipment and connection dependence for a hosted service fee and its storage limits. Compare the complete needs of the channel: number of simultaneous streams, library size, video quality, schedule length, and who handles incidents. Neither a local encoder nor a cloud playback service resolves rights clearance, YouTube policy, editorial variation, or the need to monitor a live channel.
