To run a 4K 60fps Marathi music channel on YouTube, confirm that the channel can livestream, clear the rights for every song and recording, then send a tested 2160p60 signal from an encoder over a reliable upload connection. Use YouTube’s current recommended H.264 video bitrate of 35 Mbps, rehearse with the actual audio and performance setup, and monitor the stream in Live Control Room. A technically sound stream can still be interrupted if music permissions or Content ID arrangements are incomplete.
What you need before going live
Channel eligibility
Enable live streaming and verify the YouTube channel. YouTube’s current requirements say the channel must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16 years old. Check YouTube’s live-stream prerequisites for current account steps and eligibility.
An encoder and a complete signal path
An encoder workflow suits a music program with multiple cameras, microphones, instruments, overlays, or a mixed audio feed. YouTube describes encoders as suitable for concerts and other events, and recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production events; expensive equipment is not required to begin. Choose software or hardware according to the show, and verify that the specific encoder can produce 2160p at 60 fps with a supported codec and RTMP or RTMPS output.
Depending on your setup, the chain may include a camera or capture device, microphones, an audio interface or mixer, monitoring headphones, wired network equipment, and backup power. These are workflow-dependent, not universal requirements. Fix the actual bottleneck—such as poor audio, insufficient encoding capacity, or an unstable connection—before buying equipment.

How to configure YouTube Live for 4K 60fps
Set the encoder to YouTube’s ingest recommendations
YouTube’s encoder-settings guidance, checked in 2026, lists the following 2160p60 settings. These are YouTube ingest recommendations, not a guarantee that a given computer, encoder, or internet connection will deliver reliably.
| Setting | Recommended or supported value |
|---|---|
| Resolution and frame rate | 3840 × 2160 (2160p), 60 fps |
| Video codec | H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 |
| H.264 video bitrate | 35 Mbps recommended by YouTube for 2160p60 |
| AV1 or H.265 video bitrate | 10 Mbps minimum and 40 Mbps maximum in YouTube’s 2160p60 guidance |
| Bitrate control | CBR |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds recommended; do not exceed 4 seconds |
| Ingest protocol | RTMP or RTMPS; YouTube recommends RTMPS |
| Audio | AAC or MP3; 44.1 kHz stereo |
Use the exact protocol, codec, and stream settings offered by your encoder and supported by your chosen workflow. YouTube transcodes live input for different viewer devices and network conditions. Its guidance says 4K streams do not have the low-latency optimization option and use normal latency. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings for the current technical table.

Measure and test the real upload path
Do not treat the video bitrate as a sufficient speed-test target. Measure upload performance under realistic conditions and test the actual encoder, connection, and stream together; other traffic and changing network conditions can affect delivery. If the event warrants it, plan a tested backup connection or encoder path rather than assuming a backup will work without rehearsal.
Choose a frame that suits the performance
For a concert-style program, horizontal 16:9 is the natural primary composition for a 4K feed. YouTube’s current Live Control Room guidance also describes simultaneous horizontal and vertical output in supported workflows. The vertical version is a center crop by default, and viewers in the Shorts feed see that version; YouTube’s feature comparison lists 4K bitrate streaming for horizontal live, but not vertical live in the YouTube app. Preview the crop: it may cut off performers, instruments, or other important parts of a music scene. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.

Rehearse and run the live show
- Prepare the encoder early. YouTube advises setting it up at least two hours before the event. Connect the planned cameras and audio chain, set the output values, and confirm the stream key is entered in the encoder’s YouTube destination settings. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your channel.
- Start the encoder before showtime. YouTube advises starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled event. Open the Live Control Room and check the preview and stream health before the audience arrives.
- Rehearse with representative material. Test the actual performance setup, including representative movement, microphone and instrument levels, transitions, and any graphics. Listen for clipping, distortion, imbalance, or a mismatch between the audio and picture. If you make changes, verify the resulting feed rather than relying only on encoder settings.
- Check audience playback. Open the channel or watch page and test access on the devices your audience is likely to use, including a phone. If you are making a local recording, verify that the recording is being created and growing during the rehearsal.
- Monitor throughout the broadcast. Keep an eye on Live Control Room stream health and continue checking both picture and sound during the event. Have a person or procedure ready to respond to an encoder, connection, or audio failure.
- End in the right order. Stop the live event on YouTube, then stop the encoder after the event has ended there. YouTube’s live-streaming tips provide additional setup and monitoring guidance.
Can you play Marathi songs on a YouTube Live stream?
Only if you have the permissions needed for the particular music and uses. Buying a recording, being able to play it in a venue, or finding a song in a creator music catalog does not by itself establish permission to broadcast it. YouTube’s live terms put responsibility on the channel operator to have the necessary rights for live and archived content, including relevant music rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. Read YouTube’s livestream terms.
Understand the separate rights involved
A commercial recording can involve rights in the sound recording (the master) and separate rights in the underlying musical composition and lyrics. A live performance may avoid using a commercial master, but it does not automatically resolve rights in the composition and lyrics. Video or synchronization uses, territories, archiving, clips, and monetization may also affect what permission is required. Do not assume that a license for one use or territory covers every other use.

India-related guidance for Marathi repertoire
If the channel is operated in India or uses Indian repertoire, verify the permissions for the exact feed and planned uses with the relevant rights holders or authorized licensors. IPRS says it administers musical and literary works for its members and describes online streaming platforms as requiring a license for its repertoire and/or payment of authors’ royalty share. Its license guidance distinguishes underlying works from sound recordings.
IPRS also publishes a live-streaming online-event tariff document covering live events, music videos, and DJ performances. The document’s heading says it is subject to approval by members in a general meeting; it also says additional licenses may be needed and that the IPRS license does not cover synchronization. It is not evidence that one current tariff clears every channel or repertoire. Confirm its present status and terms directly with IPRS and the other relevant rights holders.

PPL India says its on-ground tariff does not authorize non-physical or digital use, and its site lists Marathi among languages represented in its repertoire. An on-ground license should therefore not be treated as authorization for a YouTube broadcast. Ask the relevant recording owner or authorized licensor about digital streaming rights and territories. See PPL India’s tariffs and licensing information.
Clear the planned use before rehearsal
- List every recording, composition, lyric, and video element you plan to use; note whether music is a commercial recording or performed live.
- Identify the relevant master-recording, composition, lyric, and any video or synchronization permissions.
- Specify territories, whether the stream will be archived or clipped, and whether it will be monetized.
- Obtain written permission that covers those uses, and confirm whether the rights holder must take any additional steps for YouTube.
- Keep the permissions and contact details available to the people operating the broadcast.
Understand Content ID and live-stream interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the live image with a placeholder and warn the creator to stop using the content; the stream may be interrupted or terminated if it continues. YouTube says that even creators who have licensed third-party content should ask the owner to add their channel to its Content ID allowlist. Licensing alone may not prevent an interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. An archived live stream can also receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Creator Music is not a live-stream clearance shortcut: YouTube’s FAQ says it does not support licensing for live content. The FAQ describes availability as rolling out to YouTube Partner Program creators in the US, with expansion outside the US planned; check YouTube Studio for current availability, but do not treat Creator Music as authorization for a live broadcast. See the Creator Music FAQ.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTroubleshoot common 4K60 live problems
| What you see | What to check and do |
|---|---|
| Unstable video or poor stream health | Check whether the encoder is sending the selected resolution, frame rate, codec, CBR, and bitrate; then test the upload connection under the same conditions as the show. Reduce competing network use or correct the unstable connection, then rehearse again. |
| Encoder connects but the stream does not appear as expected | Verify that the correct YouTube stream key and destination are selected, that live streaming is enabled for the channel, and that the encoder is using a supported RTMP/RTMPS workflow. Do not share or publish the stream key. |
| Music is interrupted or replaced by a placeholder | Check the Live Control Room warning and identify the matched content. Stop using content you cannot substantiate permission for; contact the rights holder about the required license and Content ID allowlisting before restarting with that material. |
| Picture looks good but music sounds distorted or unbalanced | Check mixer and encoder input levels, listen on monitoring headphones, and rehearse with the actual microphones and instruments. Correct clipping or an imbalanced mix at the source and verify the stream again. |
| Important performers or instruments disappear in vertical output | Reframe the scene for the center crop or use horizontal as the primary composition. Preview the supported output before relying on a vertical version. |
| There is no low-latency option for the 4K stream | YouTube’s guidance specifies normal latency for 4K; plan audience interaction and timing with that limitation in mind. |
