To run underwater ambience and bubbles on YouTube around the clock, prepare footage and audio you have rights to use, enable live streaming on your channel, then send the video through YouTube Studio’s encoder workflow. You can encode with software on a computer or a standalone hardware encoder; either way, plan how you will monitor interruptions and preserve recordings. A long-running loop is not guaranteed to be archived as one complete video, and repetitive content is not guaranteed to qualify for monetization.
Before you build the stream
Check that your channel can go live
Verify the channel and enable live streaming before launch. YouTube says first-time live-streaming activation can take up to 24 hours. Its general eligibility guidance also says a channel must have no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. Check YouTube’s current live-streaming setup and eligibility guidance because requirements can change.
Clear the footage and sound
Use underwater footage and bubble audio you created, or assets licensed for this specific use, including continuous live streaming and any intended monetization. Keep records of licenses and permissions. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a detected match can lead to a placeholder, interruption, or termination. Even if you have a license, a rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to prevent a live interruption. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.
Make the loop worth watching
A static loop of generic footage and sound may be less compelling to viewers and can create monetization risk. If monetization matters, make your original contribution and viewer value clear—for example, through original underwater footage, distinct environments, considered sound design, or useful context. These are creative options, not a guarantee of approval.

Choose an encoding setup
YouTube supports software encoders running on a computer and standalone hardware encoders. Software is a practical choice if you already have a suitable computer and want to configure the stream there; a dedicated hardware encoder may suit a setup built around a separate device. Compare options by whether a computer must stay dedicated to encoding, supported input and output formats, operating reliability, remote monitoring, and total cost. Check current device specifications and YouTube compatibility before buying. The available guidance does not establish a particular device, bitrate, resolution, upload speed, or redundancy design for this underwater stream.
Set up and start the YouTube stream
- Enable live streaming ahead of time. Verify your channel and complete YouTube’s activation process. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time enablement.
- Prepare the media. Assemble the underwater video and bubble audio into the recording or playlist you intend to broadcast. Confirm that you have documented rights for both, including permission for live streaming.
- Create or schedule a stream. In YouTube Studio, create a live stream or schedule it in advance. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions describe copying the stream server URL and stream key into your encoder.
- Enter the connection details in the encoder. Paste the server URL and stream key into the corresponding fields. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the broadcast.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Begin sending the stream, then wait for the live preview in YouTube Studio. Confirm the video and audio are present before you confirm or start the broadcast in Studio.
- Monitor stream health. Keep an eye on the stream and respond to interruptions or dropped frames. OBS’s dropped-frames help article explains that dropped frames can be used to avoid buffering and keep a stream playing; persistent drops still need diagnosis rather than being treated as proof the connection is healthy.
Plan for continuity and archives
Keep the encoder and connection under observation
A 24/7 stream depends on the encoder continuing to send video and on the connection remaining usable. Monitor for a lost connection, frozen video, missing audio, or dropped frames, and have a way to access the encoder and YouTube Studio when something goes wrong. Do not assume that starting a stream once means it will run without interruption.

Do not rely on one complete YouTube archive
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its encoder instructions do not establish the same automatic archive behavior for a stream that runs longer than 12 hours. If you need a durable recording of a continuous 24/7 broadcast, make a separate recording or archive plan instead of assuming YouTube will retain one complete replay. The cited guidance does not specify a particular workaround.

On July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified that it renamed “repetitious content” to “inauthentic content” and said highly repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible under its existing monetization rules. YouTube also reviews reused content separately from copyright ownership or permission: having the right to use footage does not by itself establish that a channel meets monetization requirements. A minimally changed underwater loop therefore has uncertain monetization prospects. See YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
