To run recorded chemistry lessons continuously on YouTube Live, enable live streaming for your channel, create a live event in YouTube Studio, and send its stream URL and key from an encoder or hosted service that supports a repeating playlist. YouTube handles the live watch page; the encoder or service handles the lesson files, playlist order, and looping. Test the complete sequence privately or unlisted before making it public.
Choose how to keep the playlist streaming
You need a continuous video feed from a local encoder running on a computer or a hosted service that runs in the cloud. In either case, confirm that the specific software or service can play your files in the order you want and repeat them continuously. YouTube’s encoder instructions explain how to send a feed to Live Control Room, but do not provide a universal playlist-looping procedure.

For YouTube’s encoder workflow, its guide says to provide the encoder with YouTube’s server URL and stream key. Whatever route you choose, test the actual files, transitions, and repeat behavior rather than assuming that YouTube will loop a playlist for you.
Prepare your YouTube channel and live event
Check eligibility and activation time
YouTube Help says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation of live streaming may take up to 24 hours, so complete this step before the planned launch.

Create or schedule the event
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room.
- Create or schedule a live stream. Enter an accurate title and description, choose the appropriate audience setting, and set privacy to private or unlisted for the initial test.
- In the event’s stream settings, retrieve YouTube’s server URL and stream key for the encoder workflow. YouTube describes the key as sensitive, like a password and address. Do not share it publicly or include it in screenshots or lesson materials.
- Enter the URL and key in the encoder or hosted service’s streaming settings, following that product’s own instructions.
If the key is exposed, reset it using YouTube’s stream-key controls, then update the encoder or service with the replacement key.
Build and test the lesson playlist
Configure the playlist in your encoder or service
- Load the chemistry lesson recordings and arrange them in the intended order.
- Turn on the selected product’s repeat, rotation, or equivalent playlist option. The exact control is service-specific; the cited YouTube instructions do not establish a universal setting or built-in YouTube Live playlist repeat function.
- Check that each file has usable picture and sound, and that the playlist advances as expected. Review the beginning and end of the sequence, including transitions and what happens when the last item finishes.
- Keep local copies of the lesson files. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend checking the integrity of local archives for encoder-based events; local source files also give you a recovery copy if a working copy is lost.
Preview privately or unlisted
Start the encoder and preview the event in Live Control Room before publishing. Check the actual watch page on a computer and a mobile device. Confirm that the correct lessons play in order, the audio is audible, the picture is stable, and the loop behaves correctly. YouTube recommends previewing and monitoring audio and video quality.

Plan bandwidth, continuity, and archives
- Leave upload headroom: YouTube recommends sufficient upload bandwidth with capacity left over for variation and other network use. A network interruption can break a locally encoded stream.
- Monitor the feed: Watch connectivity and the YouTube preview, especially during the test and at launch. Decide who will respond if the encoder, computer, or connection stops.
- Know the archive limit: YouTube’s encoder instructions state that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish what will happen to one continuous stream longer than 12 hours. Do not rely on a single complete archive for a 24/7 broadcast; check current YouTube guidance and decide whether planned restarts fit your audience and workflow.
Clear rights and choose the right audience setting
Review every element, not just the lesson narration
YouTube’s live-stream terms put responsibility for necessary rights on the provider. Review footage, slides, music, images, demonstrations, and any other third-party material in every lesson. Educational subject matter does not itself clear embedded content. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches; a match can replace the feed with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. Even licensed material may require the rights holder to allowlist your channel before the live stream.
YouTube Help states: “The Live Content must comply with the YouTube Community Guidelines.” Ensure the playlist and stream also comply with those guidelines, and do not use misleading titles or descriptions.

Set the audience accurately
Do not choose “made for kids” solely because the content is educational or involves chemistry. The designation depends on the intended audience and content. YouTube lists live chat and comments among features disabled when a stream or channel is designated made for kids, and says personalized ads are disabled on live streams and Premieres in that setting.
Troubleshoot before and during the broadcast
