To run Malayalam worship songs continuously on YouTube, send a looping playlist to YouTube Live through an encoder, such as OBS, and keep the encoder and a stable internet connection running. Before going live, clear the rights for every song and recording, and ask relevant rights holders to allowlist your channel through Content ID. A playlist by itself does not create a live stream.
Before you start: clear the music rights
Confirm that you have permission for both the underlying compositions and the specific recordings in your playlist. Rights can belong to different parties, such as composers or publishers for a composition and a label or other owner for a recording. Check that permission covers your intended territories and live streaming; if you plan to keep a replay, check that it also covers the archive.
- Make an inventory of each track: title, composer or publisher where known, recording artist, label or recording owner, version or source, territories, and permission status for live use and replay.
- Obtain written permission from the relevant rights holders. A purchased copy, credit in the description, or consumer music subscription is not proof of rebroadcast rights.
- Ask the relevant owner, label, distributor, or publisher to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist when required. YouTube Help warns that licensed third-party content can still interrupt a live stream if the channel is not allowlisted. Keep copies of permissions and allowlist confirmations.
YouTube’s live-stream terms say that creators must have all necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. YouTube Help explains: “If you’ve licensed third-party content to use in your stream, ask the owner of the content to add your channel to their allowlist through Content ID.” A clean preview before broadcast does not establish that a track is cleared or prevent a later match.
Check that your channel can stream
YouTube’s current live-streaming setup guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. It also says live streamers must be at least 16. YouTube for Artists recommends enabling streaming at least 24 hours before the planned broadcast; see its guidance for artists. Check YouTube Studio for your channel’s current eligibility rather than waiting until the broadcast day.

Set up the playlist and live encoder
The playlist supplies the program; an encoder sends its audio and video to YouTube. You can use encoder software on a computer or an appropriate hardware encoder. YouTube describes encoder streaming in its live-streaming encoder instructions. The steps below use OBS as an example of the computer-encoder route; exact menu labels can vary by OBS version.
- Prepare the program. Put only cleared recordings in the playlist. Add visuals you have rights to use, and make a scene that stays appropriate for the entire broadcast. Test the full playlist, including transitions, gaps, silence, and the point where it loops. Playlist automation is a production setup choice, not a feature guaranteed by YouTube’s encoder instructions.
- Create a stream in YouTube Studio. Open YouTube Studio, select Create > Go live, and create or select an encoder stream. Copy the server URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room. Treat the key like a password; do not publish or share it.
- Connect OBS. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube as the service, and enter the stream key. If configuring a custom server, use the server URL and key supplied by YouTube. Add your playlist source and visual scene, then confirm that OBS meters show audio and that the program looks correct.
- Set output deliberately. Choose a resolution and frame rate suited to your source and connection, and use YouTube’s current encoder recommendations rather than guessing at a bitrate. YouTube recommends upload headroom of 20% above the stream’s bitrate. A stable wired connection is preferable for a continuously running encoder; avoid saturating the upload link with other traffic.
- Start and preview. Start streaming in OBS, then wait for the incoming feed in YouTube Live Control Room. Check the preview and stream health before selecting Go live if the stream is scheduled or requires that confirmation. Verify the public watch page on your channel and on a phone.
- Monitor the broadcast. Check audio, video, connection status, and the public playback. Assign someone to watch for interruptions or document who will respond; YouTube’s monitoring advice does not guarantee that an encoder, computer, power supply, or internet connection will recover by itself.
Plan for uninterrupted playback and an archive
A 24/7 program needs more than a playlist: the encoder, computer or hardware, power, and network must keep operating, and someone or a recovery process must notice and address a lost feed. Test the entire setup before announcing it, and decide who will act if the stream stops. If you use a computer encoder, disabling sleep and arranging restart after a power interruption may help, but those settings do not remove the need to test and monitor the system.

Keep a local recording if you need a complete archive. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all; see YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance. Do not assume that a single continuous 24/7 broadcast will produce a complete replay. If you need YouTube archives, plan sessions shorter than 12 hours; if you need a continuous record, record locally and check that the files are being saved.

YouTube lists hardware encoders as an option for sending a live program, but no particular model is established here as reliable for unattended 24/7 playlist use. Before choosing one, check that it accepts your program source, supports YouTube output, and offers the restart, remote-monitoring, and backup behavior your operation needs. An encoder transmits the program; it does not grant music rights.
