You can keep a YouTube stream of Malayalam music videos running without leaving a home computer on by using a cloud encoder that plays uploaded, prerecorded videos and sends the continuous feed to YouTube Live. First secure rights for every video and prepare the channel for livestreaming; a cloud service solves the computer-and-home-internet requirement, not copyright or YouTube eligibility.
What you need before starting
- Clear livestream rights. Confirm that permissions cover the sound recording, composition and video, continuous livestream use, relevant territories and monetization if you plan to monetize.
- A livestream-enabled YouTube channel. If this is the channel’s first livestream, YouTube for Artists says to enable live streaming through account verification at least 24 hours before the planned broadcast.
- A cloud encoder that supports prerecorded playlists. Check how it connects to YouTube, handles uploaded files, recovers from interruptions and monitors the feed before depending on it for a continuous stream.
YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for necessary rights on the person providing the live content, including music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers and other royalty participants. Read YouTube’s livestream terms.
How to set up the stream
- Clear the videos for this use. Ask each relevant rights holder or distributor whether your permissions include continuous YouTube livestreaming. Check territory, duration, monetization and whether the channel must be allowlisted in Content ID. Keep the permissions and any allowlisting confirmation accessible.
- Enable livestreaming in advance. Complete YouTube account verification and enable the feature. For a first-time livestream, YouTube for Artists advises doing this at least 24 hours before launch. Its Going Live guidance for music channels also recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music.
- Choose a cloud encoder. Select a service that accepts prerecorded video files, builds a playlist and maintains an encoder feed to YouTube Live without a local computer. Review its current upload and storage limits, account authorization or stream-key process, recovery behavior, monitoring, archive or rotation options, support, availability and pricing. Confirm those details with the provider: a service’s own description is not an independent performance assessment.
- Connect YouTube and prepare the broadcast. Follow the provider’s current instructions to authorize your channel or enter the stream key, then choose the cleared videos and set the stream title, description and other details in the relevant YouTube or service interface. Protect the stream key: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast.
- Run a monitored trial. Start the stream before treating it as always-on. Check that YouTube receives the feed, the playlist advances as expected and the service reports a healthy connection. Review YouTube Studio for copyright warnings, claims or restrictions.
- Plan recording preservation separately. Do not assume a single continuous broadcast will remain available as an archive for a particular length of time. Decide how you will preserve recordings and check current YouTube guidance before promising viewers a replay.
Copyright checks that can stop a live music stream
YouTube scans livestreams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn the streamer; continued use can lead to interruption or termination. A license and a Content ID allowlist are separate checks: YouTube says a stream may still be interrupted even when the creator has a license if the channel has not been added to the rights owner’s allowlist. See YouTube’s guidance on copyrighted content in live streams.
Before launch, coordinate with the relevant label, distributor or other rights owner about allowlisting, as applicable. YouTube for Artists specifically recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using protected music during a livestream. Permission to listen to a song, or to upload a video elsewhere, does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast the complete music video continuously on YouTube.

Cloud encoder or local computer?
A cloud encoder runs the playback and outgoing feed remotely, so your home computer and internet connection do not need to remain in the broadcast path. A local encoder—such as a computer running streaming software—would need to stay powered, connected and stable for the feed to continue, which conflicts with the no-home-PC requirement. For this use, assess cloud services on the following practical points:
- Support for YouTube Live and prerecorded playlists.
- How the service authorizes the channel or handles the stream key.
- Upload and storage limits, plus playlist rotation or archive behavior.
- Monitoring and recovery if YouTube or the service loses the connection.
- Current price, availability in your region, security and support.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once and go live. Your computer can be off while the cloud loops the uploaded content. It is YouTube-only and does not stream from a camera.
