You can run recorded Kannada devotional songs as a continuous YouTube livestream, but first clear the rights for both the underlying compositions and the specific sound recordings. Then create a YouTube live stream, send its stream URL and key from an encoder, and monitor it. Plan separately for continuity and replays: YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be archived at all.

Clear the music rights before you stream

Being devotional, traditional, purchased, or freely downloadable does not by itself make a recording available for rebroadcast. YouTube’s livestream terms say the provider must have all necessary rights for live exploitation, including applicable music rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants.

Rights in a song’s composition and rights in a particular sound recording can belong to different parties. For each track, identify the recording and the underlying composition, then confirm who can authorize each use. The rights chain for a particular Kannada song cannot be assumed from its age, language, devotional subject, or online availability.

Make a track-by-track permissions list

  • Record the song title, artist, exact recording, and known label, publisher, or composition administrator.
  • Get written permission that covers a continuous public livestream on YouTube. If you want replays, confirm that archiving is covered too; ask separately about monetization if you intend to enable it.
  • Check territory, duration, attribution requirements, and restrictions on looping, editing, or combining tracks.
  • Keep the written permissions and rights-holder contact details accessible while the stream is running.

YouTube’s Creator Music FAQ says Creator Music does not support licensing for live content. A Creator Music license therefore is not a substitute for permissions that cover a livestream.

Prepare for Content ID interruptions

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it may show a placeholder and warn you; if the material continues, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Licensed music can still trigger this process. YouTube advises creators who have licensed third-party content to ask the owner to add their channel to its Content ID allowlist. See YouTube’s guidance on live-stream copyright.

Before going live, ask each relevant rights holder or administrator whether your channel needs to be allowlisted, and arrange that in advance. If a match occurs, follow the notice and platform instructions, then contact the rights holder about the allowlist. After a session ends, check any saved replay for claims.

Set up the YouTube stream and encoder

You need a YouTube channel set up for live streaming, an encoder, your prepared audio playlist, and a visual element you have rights to use. YouTube’s encoder setup guide describes the platform workflow. Specific encoder software and settings depend on your setup; the cited guidance does not prescribe a particular program or configuration.

  1. Complete live-stream setup in advance. A first-time live setup may take up to 24 hours to activate, according to YouTube’s encoder guide. Do not leave channel activation until the planned broadcast time.
  2. Create or schedule the stream. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and open its control room. Choose a title and visibility that match your plans.
  3. Copy the stream URL and stream key. Enter both into the corresponding fields in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, include it in on-screen graphics, or share it with people who should not control the broadcast.
  4. Prepare the playlist and visual. Check the track order, transitions, audio continuity, and the visual loop. Confirm you have rights to both the audio and the displayed material.
  5. Start the encoder feed. Confirm that YouTube receives the signal and inspect the preview before starting or confirming the live broadcast in YouTube’s controls.
  6. Verify the live state. Watch YouTube Studio for stream health and any copyright warnings. Keep an operator or a defined monitoring plan in place.

A hardware video encoder is an optional category for advanced setups, not a required purchase. Consider one only after assessing your existing computer, the stream’s visual complexity, internet connection, budget, and ability to keep the equipment available.

Choose between shorter sessions and one continuous feed

YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived. A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive backup.

Operating pattern Best fit Archive implication Operational tradeoff
Repeated sessions shorter than 12 hours Channels that need separate saved replays YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; keep a local recording as well. Requires planned restarts and may create breaks. The cited guidance does not guarantee a seamless transition.
One continuous 24/7 feed Channels that prioritize a continuously available live destination A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Requires monitoring and a recovery plan; archive retention is uncertain.

If individual replays matter, schedule shorter sessions and plan how to restart them. The cited YouTube guidance does not promise that any restart method will create seamless viewing or reliable archives. If the priority is a continuous destination, accept that a complete 24-hour replay is not assured and maintain a local recording if you need an archive.

Test operations and monitor the broadcast

YouTube’s setup and archive guidance does not prescribe a complete 24/7 uptime procedure. Before launch, test the parts of your own setup that could stop or disrupt the stream:

  • Playlist order, track transitions, audio levels, and visual-loop continuity.
  • Encoder reconnect behavior after a brief network interruption.
  • Network and power recovery, including who can restart the encoder or stream.
  • Monitoring coverage for YouTube Studio warnings, stream health, and termination notices.
  • The restart procedure if you are using sessions shorter than 12 hours, and local recording capacity if you need backups.

These are operational checks to plan and test, not uptime guarantees from YouTube. Keep an eye on Studio while live; respond to copyright notices using the platform’s instructions and the rights holder’s contact path.

Or let it run in the cloud

For a YouTube stream built from uploaded recordings, StreamNeo is an alternative to keeping an encoder computer running at home. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos from the cloud; it does not stream from a camera.

  • Nothing has to stay on at home for the stream to keep running.
  • Each slot streams your uploaded material as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot.
  • Automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream.
  • The first day is free, with no card required.

Monthly: $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for details, or start your free first day.
