You can rebroadcast GTA roleplay session VODs around the clock by sending a prepared playlist to a YouTube encoder stream using the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio. Before you configure anything, clear the rights for the gameplay, player contributions, server assets, and audio: a 24/7 rebroadcast is not automatically authorized by Rockstar’s general fan-content policy. Plan for YouTube’s 12-hour archive and DVR limits, too.

Before you stream: clear the VODs and audio

Make a rights inventory for every recording before putting it in a continuous broadcast. Confirm that you control the VOD or have permission from its creator, that the roleplay server’s terms permit the planned use, and that contributors’ voices, likenesses, and other material can be rebroadcast. Check music and any other third-party audio separately.

YouTube’s live-stream terms put responsibility for necessary rights on the person providing the content, including music licensing rights. Read YouTube’s live-stream terms and obtain case-specific permissions where needed.

Rockstar’s fan-content policy, dated January 10, 2025, is not blanket permission for a commercial 24/7 channel. It describes occasional, non-commercial fan use and says it does not apply to exploitation of Rockstar IP for streaming distribution. Rockstar points to case-by-case licensing requests. Its roleplay-server policy is a separate matter: a server’s eligibility under that policy does not by itself clear every VOD, participant, or audio track for continuous commercial rebroadcast. See Rockstar’s legal policies and its roleplay-server policy.

Set up the YouTube encoder stream

  1. Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Open YouTube Studio, choose Create > Go live, then create or schedule an encoder-based stream. YouTube’s labels can change; follow the current encoder setup flow in YouTube Help.
  2. Copy the stream URL and stream key. Enter both in your streaming encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not share it publicly or include it in a video or screenshot. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio.
  3. Build a playlist of cleared VODs. Add the recordings to your encoder’s media playlist in the intended order, set it to repeat, and verify that the files play from beginning to end. The cited YouTube setup guidance describes the URL-and-key workflow; it does not prescribe a particular encoder brand or computer specification.
  4. Check the preview, then start the outgoing feed. Confirm that the correct channel and stream are selected, the playlist is playing, and the YouTube preview shows the expected video and audio before starting the encoder output.
  5. Monitor the broadcast. Keep an operator available to respond to copyright warnings, feed interruptions, and technical failures. Describe the content accurately as previously recorded sessions; do not imply that the gameplay is live.

Choose a session length with YouTube’s archive limits in mind

YouTube Help says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived. If a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. YouTube recommends keeping a local recording backup; see its live-stream archiving guidance.

For a channel that must stay live continuously, one option is to schedule shorter sessions and restart the encoder before each session reaches 12 hours. That can make each session eligible for automatic archiving, but YouTube’s guidance does not guarantee a seamless handoff or explain exactly how viewers will experience a restart. Test the transition and keep local recordings if preserving the footage matters.

Understand copyright interruptions and monetization risk

Copyright checks can interrupt a live feed

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it identifies such material, it may warn you or replace the stream with a placeholder; if the content remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. An archived stream may also receive a Content ID claim after it ends. A playlist that worked before can still trigger a problem if it contains music or other material you are not authorized to use. Review YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Monetization is not assured

YouTube says monetized channels need original, authentic content. Its reused-content rules address material repurposed without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or added educational or entertainment value. On July 15, 2025, YouTube said it renamed its repetitious-content policy to “inauthentic content” to clarify that repetitive or mass-produced material is ineligible under the existing policy; it said the reused-content policy did not change. A continuous loop of largely unchanged VODs could face monetization review, but this does not establish how YouTube would decide any particular channel. Commentary, curation, context, or meaningful editorial changes may add viewer value, but do not guarantee approval. Read YouTube’s channel monetization policies.

Eligible monetized streams can use ads and, where available to the channel, features such as Super Chat, Super Stickers, and memberships. YouTube does not guarantee that ad slots will serve. Do not budget on the assumption that a 24/7 VOD loop will be approved or earn revenue; consult YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance.

Common problems and what to check

  • YouTube shows no incoming signal: Check that the encoder has the correct stream URL and current key, that it is sending output, and that the selected Studio stream matches the channel and broadcast you intend to use.
  • The broadcast is replaced, interrupted, or terminated: Check YouTube Studio for warnings and review each VOD’s music and third-party material. Remove or replace content you cannot clear; a prior successful broadcast does not establish rights for future use.
  • The archive is missing or incomplete: Check whether the session exceeded 12 hours. Keep a local recording backup and, if YouTube’s automatic archive matters, use sessions shorter than that threshold.
  • Viewers cannot rewind as expected: Long-stream DVR may be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours, and rewind cannot reach before the stream began. Shorter sessions may better match an archive-and-rewind workflow.
  • The channel is not monetized or loses monetization: Review YouTube’s reused and inauthentic content rules and assess whether the channel adds substantial original value rather than repeatedly broadcasting unchanged sessions. No format guarantees approval.

Or let it run in the cloud

If you would rather not keep an encoder computer running at home, StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload cleared GTA RP VODs, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos, so nothing has to stay on at home; it supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. The monthly option is $9.99 per month.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

StreamNeo does not clear rights to the footage or music, and it does not remove YouTube’s archive, copyright, or monetization rules. It streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a live camera feed. Start your StreamNeo free day.
