You can run a 24/7 YouTube stream from a mini PC by looping video in OBS Studio and sending the feed to YouTube over RTMPS. The PC, OBS, internet connection and power supply must all remain available, so test the exact hardware and connection before relying on it unattended. YouTube and OBS documentation do not validate a particular low-cost mini PC, its Indian price or its ability to encode continuously.
What a mini PC setup can—and cannot—guarantee
A mini PC acts as a local encoder: OBS plays a file or playlist and sends it as a live feed to YouTube. That is different from preserving a complete recording of the broadcast. YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, so a continuous broadcast should not be treated as a guaranteed full-length archive.
There is no established minimum mini PC specification for this job in the cited official documentation. Before buying, check the exact processor and graphics generation, supported codecs, memory, storage, cooling under sustained load, power draw, ports and warranty. Verify current Indian pricing with the seller; neither a model recommendation nor an India-wide price or power-cost figure is established here.
Set up OBS to loop video to YouTube

Install OBS and configure it
Install OBS Studio on the mini PC, then launch the Auto-Configuration Wizard. OBS says it considers the intended use, computer hardware and network conditions. Treat its result as a starting point, not proof that the PC can operate reliably around the clock.

Add a video or playlist
For one local recording, add a Media Source in OBS and enable Loop. For multiple files, add a VLC Video Source and enable Loop Playlist. The VLC source requires VLC to be installed; 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. Confirm the files play in the intended order and that the scene fits the video correctly.

Check audio and test the scene
Watch the OBS audio meters while the content plays. Test the selected scene and stream for a few minutes before launch, as OBS recommends. This can reveal basic scene, audio or encoder problems, but a short test does not establish 24/7 reliability.

Set encoder output and connect YouTube
In OBS, set the intended resolution and frame rate, then choose an encoder bitrate appropriate for the codec and YouTube’s recommendations below. In YouTube’s live-stream setup, use the stream key for this broadcast and configure OBS to send the feed using RTMPS. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to broadcast to your channel. YouTube recommends testing upload bitrate, using representative audio and motion, and monitoring stream health.

Enable reconnect and start the broadcast
In OBS, open Settings > Advanced and configure Automatically Reconnect. Start streaming, then check YouTube’s stream-health indicators and confirm that both video and audio are arriving as expected. Reconnect can help after a dropped connection; it is not a guarantee against a PC crash, power loss, internet outage or YouTube-side interruption.
Choose resolution, frame rate and bitrate
YouTube’s encoder guidance supports RTMP/RTMPS ingestion and H.264, H.265 (HEVC) or AV1 video, up to 60 fps. It recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval (do not exceed four seconds), and AAC or MP3 audio. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transmission.

These are YouTube’s recommended encoder bitrates on its current settings page, accessed in 2026—not a promise that a household connection can sustain them. Test upload performance at the actual installation location and leave headroom for other network use. A speed test is only a snapshot; test the stream with representative content and monitor its health while it runs.

Plan for power, network and unattended operation
A local setup depends on the mini PC, OBS, network path and power staying available. Ethernet may be useful where practical. If outages are a concern, a UPS for the PC and router may help, but size it from measured load and the runtime you need; no universal sizing or Indian outage assumption applies. Neither a particular broadband plan nor a specific device guarantees uninterrupted service.

YouTube says, “If your live stream is less than 12 hours long, YouTube can automatically archive it for you.” It also warns, “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” Record a local copy as backup if retaining the content matters, and consider shorter broadcasts if your channel’s workflow can accommodate them.

Viewer rewind is also not assured for a full-day stream: YouTube says DVR capabilities may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. Do not promise viewers a complete rewind window for a 24/7 broadcast.
Troubleshoot common problems
- The video stops after one play: Confirm that Loop is enabled on the Media Source, or Loop Playlist is enabled on the VLC Video Source.
- The VLC playlist source is unavailable: Install VLC and match its architecture to OBS; 64-bit OBS needs 64-bit VLC.
- YouTube reports unstable stream health: Check OBS’s output bitrate against YouTube’s recommendation for the selected codec and quality, test upload performance under realistic network use, and reduce output demands if the connection cannot sustain them.
- The stream disconnects: Check the local internet connection and power, and confirm OBS automatic reconnect is configured. Reconnect does not recover every failure, including a powered-off PC or broader service interruption.
- There is no sound or the scene looks wrong: Check the OBS audio meters and source/scene configuration, then run another short test and verify the result in YouTube before leaving it unattended.
- The live broadcast has no complete archive: Streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Keep a local recording and plan shorter broadcasts if a complete VOD is essential.
