You can run a 24/7 YouTube radio stream over JioFiber, but no broadband plan can guarantee an interruption-free broadcast. The practical approach is to use a wired, continuously powered encoder; verify sustained upload capacity with at least 20% headroom; test recovery and backup arrangements; and use music you have the right to stream. A UPS can cover some local power failures, while a separate internet path addresses a different risk.
What you need before starting
- A verified YouTube channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s requirements are described in its live streaming help.
- A computer or other compatible encoder that can remain online, with a stable connection to the router. For a do-it-yourself setup, plan to keep both the encoder and the router/ONT powered.
- Music and visuals you created or are authorized to broadcast. YouTube’s Terms of Service require you to have the rights needed for live content, including music.
- A way to monitor the stream and respond if the encoder, connection, power, or YouTube interrupts it.
Set up the stream on JioFiber
1. Confirm channel access and music rights
Enable live streaming for the channel and check that it meets YouTube’s eligibility rules before scheduling a long broadcast. Use original or properly authorized music. A belief that a track is licensed is not always enough to prevent a live interruption: YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, and a rights holder may need to allowlist your channel in Content ID.

2. Measure upload capacity at the encoder
Test upload speed from the computer that will encode the stream, preferably over Ethernet, at more than one time of day. Repeat while household devices are using the connection. Do not estimate upload capacity from the advertised download speed of a JioFiber plan. YouTube says the total stream bitrate must fit within available upload capacity and recommends leaving 20% headroom; shared network use can reduce what is available. See YouTube’s streaming tips.

For example, a 4 Mbps stream needs more than 4 Mbps of sustained upload capacity: leave the recommended spare capacity rather than running the line at its limit. If your measurements fluctuate, choose lower settings or address the connection before relying on a 24/7 broadcast.

3. Choose conservative encoder settings
Use RTMPS where supported, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube says not to exceed four seconds. Its current recommended H.264 video bitrates include:
| Resolution and frame rate | YouTube-recommended H.264 video bitrate |
|---|---|
| 480p at 30 fps | 3 Mbps |
| 720p at 30 fps | 4 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 8 Mbps |
These are YouTube recommendations, not a guarantee that your particular JioFiber connection will sustain them. Higher resolutions require more upload capacity. YouTube’s guidance also recommends AAC or MP3 audio and supports H.264, H.265, or AV1 where the encoder supports them. Check YouTube’s current bitrate guidance when configuring your encoder.
4. Connect the encoder by Ethernet where possible
A wired link avoids depending on Wi-Fi coverage and reduces one source of local contention, though it cannot prevent an outage elsewhere in the network. If Wi-Fi is necessary, use Jio’s troubleshooting advice: run diagnostics, limit competing device load, choose the 2.4 or 5 GHz band that suits your setup, and place the router sensibly. See Jio’s Wi-Fi and JioFiber help.

5. Configure YouTube Live Control Room and test
Create or schedule the livestream in YouTube Live Control Room, configure the encoder with the stream key, and confirm the preview is receiving audio and video before taking the broadcast live. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to your event. YouTube recommends setting up in advance, checking the preview, monitoring audio and video, and testing failover rather than assuming it works.
6. Rehearse recovery, not just startup
For a 24/7 stream, deliberately rehearse what happens after a computer restart, router reconnection, or local power loss. If you have a backup encoder, test failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable, then verify that the backup takes over and the event remains visible. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend testing backup-encoder failover.
Reduce the main causes of interruptions
Upload variability and household traffic
Keep the stream bitrate below the upload capacity you actually observe, with YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Retest at busy times; another household device can consume capacity even when the stream was stable during an earlier test.

Wi-Fi problems
Prefer Ethernet for the encoder. If you must use Wi-Fi, improve placement, choose a suitable band, run Jio’s diagnostics, and reduce competing traffic. These steps can help with the local wireless link; they cannot fix a fiber or upstream service outage.
Power loss or encoder failure
A UPS sized for the router/ONT and encoding computer can help during some household power interruptions. Choose runtime based on the actual equipment load and the outages you want to cover; no particular UPS capacity or model is established here. A UPS cannot keep the stream online if the ISP’s network or fiber service is down. A tested backup encoder can mitigate some computer failures, but it also needs power and a usable network connection.
Internet-path outage
Power backup and connection backup solve different problems. Jio says AirFiber may be selected as an additional backup to Fiber, subject to location and current availability; check Jio’s current availability and terms for your area. Fiber and AirFiber use different underlying technologies, but a second service should not be treated as a guarantee against every outage.

Copyright matches
YouTube scans livestreams for third-party content. If matched material remains, a stream may be interrupted or terminated. Even licensed third-party content can be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel in Content ID. Read YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams, and resolve rights and allowlisting before relying on a long-running broadcast.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Plan for the replay separately
Do not rely on YouTube to preserve one continuous 24-hour event as a complete archive. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If a replay matters, record locally and verify that the recording is being saved. See YouTube’s archive guidance.
Troubleshooting a stream that drops
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| Stream repeatedly buffers or loses connection | Insufficient or fluctuating upload capacity, or competing household traffic | Measure upload from the encoder during busy periods, reduce bitrate if needed, and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. |
| Encoder disconnects while other devices still have internet | Local Wi-Fi coverage or contention, or an encoder-to-router issue | Use Ethernet if possible. Otherwise run Jio diagnostics, check router placement and band, and reduce competing Wi-Fi use. |
| Stream stops after a power interruption | Encoder or router/ONT lost power or did not restart cleanly | Check power to each device and rehearse restart and reconnection. A UPS can cover some local power failures but not an ISP outage. |
| Broadcast is interrupted after a copyright match | YouTube detected third-party content, or the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel | Use content you are authorized to stream and resolve any required Content ID allowlisting with the rights holder. |
| A long stream has no complete replay | YouTube may not capture streams exceeding 12 hours | Keep and verify a local recording when a complete replay is important. |
