You can keep prerecorded videos playing as a 24/7 YouTube live stream without leaving a computer running at home: prepare and upload your videos to a hosted streaming service, arrange them into a looping playlist, connect the service to your YouTube channel, then test and monitor the broadcast. For an India-based creator, StreamNeo is the first service to consider: it runs the stream from the cloud, accepts uploads up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel that is verified and eligible to livestream. YouTube says a channel must not have a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time livestream activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned launch. See YouTube’s livestreaming eligibility guidance.
- Video files that the cloud service accepts. A YouTube playlist link alone may not be enough: some providers require you to upload the source files to their own storage.
- The rights to livestream every part of the material, including music, performances, images and other embedded content.
- A plan for stream monitoring, interruptions and any replay or archive viewers may expect.
Before committing to a long broadcast, enable livestreaming and create a short test. Confirm that the channel can start a stream and that its preview, sound and public watch page behave as expected.
Choose a cloud service that fits your channel
For this use case, a hosted prerecorded-stream service should accept your files, play them in a loop or playlist, and send the feed to YouTube. Check the service’s current terms directly before uploading: availability and billing in India, taxes and billing currency, storage limits, supported resolution and frame rate, number of simultaneous streams, playlist scheduling, restart behavior, monitoring, support and credential connection method all affect whether it suits your channel. The available information does not establish a best service for every Indian creator, nor does it establish India-region data handling, uptime commitments or tax treatment for every provider.
StreamNeo: the first option to consider
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Its offer is the same across plan lengths: one always-on stream per slot, uploads streamed as made up to 4K 60fps, pooled storage of 10 GB per slot across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. The computer at home does not need to stay on. The first day is free with no card, and UPI works for payments in India; cards are accepted in India and worldwide. See StreamNeo for service details.

Other operating models
- Gyre: YouTube’s encoder documentation lists Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded streams. Gyre’s product page describes uploading files, arranging a looping playlist and starting or scheduling a broadcast. These operational descriptions are vendor claims; check its current plans and terms. Its help documentation says source files must be uploaded to Gyre storage, including files already on your YouTube channel or in a YouTube playlist.
- Self-managed computer or encoder: This can avoid a hosted-service subscription, but your computer, power, internet connection and encoder must remain available. It is not the no-local-computer cloud workflow described here.
- Configurable cloud encoder: YouTube’s verified encoder list includes AWS Elemental MediaLive. That listing establishes it as a verified encoder, not that it is the simplest or least expensive way to loop a playlist. Suitability and total cost depend on your setup.
Prepare the playlist and files
- Check the provider’s accepted formats and upload rules. Upload the actual source files if the service requires it; do not assume it can pull or loop an existing YouTube playlist.
- Arrange the sequence. Confirm the order, the loop behavior and what happens when the last item finishes. Check each video for broken audio, black frames or material that is unsuitable for the intended audience.
- Use provider-specific encoding guidance, not a universal recipe. Gyre’s help page lists 1920×1080 or 1280×720, H.264 video, 3072–6144 kbps video bitrate, 128 kbps audio and 30 fps as preparation guidance. These are Gyre-specific values, not universal YouTube requirements; verify the current instructions before encoding. YouTube publishes bitrate ranges by resolution in its encoder settings guidance.
- Set accurate stream details. Use a title and description that accurately identify the content and make clear that prerecorded videos are being played continuously. Consider how viewers will understand the stream and its schedule.
Connect the cloud service to YouTube and go live
- Create or schedule the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Open Live Control Room and create a stream. If the provider uses a stream key, select or create the appropriate key and copy the stream URL and key into the provider’s connection settings. YouTube describes a stream key as the password and address that let an encoder send video; keep it private and reset it if exposed. See YouTube’s stream settings instructions.
- Use the provider’s authorized connection if that is its workflow. Review the account permissions requested before authorizing access, and confirm which channel is connected.
- Prefer RTMPS for an encoder connection. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which protects the encoder-to-YouTube connection with TLS. For a managed service, follow its current connection instructions.
- Run a test before the full schedule. Start the service, check the Live Control Room preview, verify audio and video, and open the public watch page. Confirm that the stream is actually live and that the playlist advances or loops as intended.
- Monitor the broadcast. Check stream health and platform warnings during operation. A hosted service removes the need for a local computer to send the feed, but it does not remove the creator’s responsibility to check the channel and content.
Plan for keyframes, archives and interruptions
Keyframes and stream health
YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe frequency and says not to exceed four seconds. Its encoder settings page also gives bitrate ranges by resolution; choose a rate appropriate to your output and connection rather than treating one bitrate as right for every stream. Monitor YouTube’s stream-health indicators during the test and after launch.

Archives and broadcasts longer than 12 hours
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume that one uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast will be saved in full. If a complete replay matters, check YouTube’s current archive and DVR behavior before launch, plan around the documented limit, and retain a separate authorized source archive where appropriate. See YouTube’s live-streaming instructions.
Service or YouTube interruptions
Ask how the provider behaves if its service or the YouTube connection drops, whether it resumes the playlist automatically, and what monitoring or alerts are available. StreamNeo states that it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. Regardless of provider, check the channel after launch and investigate any platform warning rather than assuming a restart resolved the underlying problem.

Check rights and YouTube policy before looping
YouTube’s livestream terms require creators to have the rights needed for worldwide use of the live content, including music rights, and to follow applicable rules. Having uploaded a video—or having permission to use a song in a different context—does not by itself establish that every song, performance, image or licensed element may be rebroadcast live or included in an archive. Check the rights for both the livestream and any resulting replay, and follow YouTube’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
Cost and setup trade-offs
A hosted service shifts file serving and stream operation away from your home equipment, in exchange for provider terms and fees. A self-managed setup avoids a hosted subscription but depends on an always-available computer, power and internet connection; a configurable cloud encoder may require more setup and its total cost is not established by YouTube’s encoder listing. Compare the complete operating cost rather than subscription price alone. StreamNeo includes the same core features on every plan length; its cloud vs PC cost calculator can help frame that comparison. Estimate upload time before transferring large files with the upload-time calculator.

Troubleshooting common problems
- Live streaming is unavailable: Check channel verification and whether the channel has had a livestreaming restriction in the last 90 days. If this is the first enablement, allow up to 24 hours and test again.
- The service cannot find or play the playlist: Confirm whether it requires source-file uploads to its own storage; a YouTube playlist URL may not be supported. Check accepted file formats, upload completion and playlist order.
- YouTube does not receive the feed: Recheck the selected channel, stream URL and stream key, or repeat the provider’s channel authorization. Reset a key if it may have been exposed. Verify the provider is set to send to YouTube and inspect Live Control Room for errors.
- Video is unstable or YouTube flags stream health: Compare the output resolution and bitrate with YouTube’s current encoder guidance and the provider’s requirements. Check keyframe frequency—YouTube recommends two seconds and no more than four—and run another short test.
- Viewers cannot hear audio or see the intended picture: Inspect the source files and playlist order, then verify the Live Control Room preview before relaunching. Test with a representative file rather than assuming every playlist item behaves identically.
- The broadcast stops or does not resume: Check both YouTube’s stream-health notices and the provider’s connection status. Confirm the provider’s restart behavior and contact its support if the stream does not recover.
- The full 24/7 broadcast is missing from archives: YouTube’s automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours; use a separate authorized archive if the complete recording is required.
Useful pre-launch checks
- Confirm channel eligibility and enable livestreaming in advance.
- Verify that all source files are uploaded and the playlist loops as intended.
- Confirm stream key or account authorization, and keep credentials private.
- Test RTMPS where applicable, preview the stream, and check audio, video and public access.
- Review rights for all content and plan for monitoring, interruptions and archives.
