You can run a continuous Gujarati garba instrumental stream on YouTube with a computer running OBS or a VPS running FFmpeg—or use a cloud service that loops uploaded videos. Before going live, secure permission for every recording and composition, ask the relevant rights holders to allowlist your channel in Content ID, and test an unlisted stream. Instrumental music is not automatically copyright-free, and a licence alone may not prevent YouTube from interrupting a live stream.
1. Clear the rights to every track before streaming
Make an inventory of the recordings and compositions in your playlist. A recording and the underlying composition can have different owners or administrators, so identify the relevant rights holders for both.
Get written permission covering continuous YouTube live use, the territories where you intend to stream, the duration of the permission, monetization, and whether YouTube may retain an archive or video-on-demand copy. Ask the relevant owner or distributor to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; confirm the channel identifier and permission scope in writing.

YouTube says it scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, warn you, interrupt the feed, or terminate it. YouTube also advises creators who have licensed third-party content to ask the owner to allowlist their channel. Without allowlisting, a live stream can still be interrupted—even if you restrict it to territories where you hold rights. Read YouTube’s guidance on live-stream copyright.

Do not treat an instrumental arrangement, a purchased track, a private upload, or access through a music-streaming subscription as permission to broadcast it continuously. YouTube’s detection and allowlisting rules do not settle the legal requirements for your particular country or recording; get permission from the actual rights holders rather than assuming you are covered.
2. Make sure the channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days to live stream. Enable live streaming at least 24 hours before your planned launch, as YouTube recommends, and test with an unlisted stream first. Check your channel’s eligibility and current setup in YouTube’s live-streaming getting-started guide and its music creator resources.

3. Choose how to keep the encoder running
A continuous YouTube feed needs an encoder process sending audio and video. A radio stream can pair the music with a static image or a looping visual. Whichever setup you choose, plan for power, internet, encoder failure, and a way to notice if the feed goes silent.

Option A: OBS on a dedicated computer
- Use a computer that can remain powered on, connected to the internet, and logged in for the full streaming period.
- In OBS, create a scene with a static or looping visual, then add the audio source or sources for your garba playlist. Confirm that both the image and sound reach the stream.
- Connect OBS to the stream settings shown in YouTube Studio. Keep the stream key private; anyone who gets it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Configure reconnection and arrange a way to restart OBS or the computer if either stops. A local setup depends on your home power and network as well as the computer.
YouTube does not specify a minimum PC configuration for this use in the cited guidance. Test your existing equipment with the exact scene, audio chain, resolution, and network before buying a dedicated machine.

Option B: FFmpeg on a VPS
- Run FFmpeg on a virtual private server (VPS) to send the audio and a still or looping image to YouTube.
- Run it as a background service or process, with a supervisor or restart policy that can bring it back after an exit.
- Monitor the process and stream, and arrange an alert or manual response for network loss, server restart, or silence. Automatic restart does not guarantee uninterrupted service.
This option avoids relying on a desktop session, but requires command-line and server administration. No particular VPS provider, hosting price, or reliability level is established here.

These are practical options, not performance-tested recommendations. A technical guide describes both approaches and favors VPS/FFmpeg for unattended operation, but that is guidance rather than an independent reliability test.

4. Configure and test the YouTube stream
- Create a live stream in YouTube Studio. Open the live-stream setup and use the stream settings YouTube displays for your encoder. The exact interface labels can change.
- Copy the stream key into the encoder. Treat it like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not control the broadcast.
- Set up the visual and audio. Include an image or loop alongside the playlist audio. Listen for gaps, distortion, or clipping, and make sure the visual is present.
- Start with an unlisted test. Check the encoder connection, audio continuity, video output, and the viewer-facing watch page before making the stream public. YouTube’s music-creator guidance recommends an unlisted test.
- Prepare monitoring and recovery. Watch for encoder exits, network loss, machine or server restarts, and silence. Make sure a person can respond when automation cannot restore the feed.
YouTube’s API documentation distinguishes a persistent audio-video stream from a broadcast, the viewer-facing event or video. Its example describes a 24/7 broadcast continuing while a separate broadcast begins and ends, which can be useful if you later want distinct event broadcasts around a continuous channel. 5. Monitor the stream and handle interruptions
- YouTube interrupts or replaces the feed: Check YouTube Studio for a warning or matched content. Identify the recording or composition, resolve the rights issue with the relevant owner, and request allowlisting before resuming.
- The encoder stops: Check the computer or VPS, internet connection, and encoder logs. Restart the process and confirm the YouTube watch page is receiving both audio and video.
- The stream reconnects but the playlist is silent: Check the playback source and audio routing, then listen to the live output rather than relying only on the encoder’s running status.
- A live-stream restriction appears: Resolve it through YouTube’s process. Do not move the same restricted stream to another channel to evade the restriction; YouTube says restrictions may carry a live-streaming strike and prohibits using another channel to circumvent them.

What to budget and what not to assume
A DIY setup may use a computer you already own or a paid VPS, but the sources do not establish a required computer model, minimum PC specification, VPS provider, or hosting price. Test existing hardware before buying equipment. A cloud service is another operating model; compare its current plan terms with the responsibility and costs of maintaining your own encoder.
YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is a platform-wide figure, not a Gujarati garba audience estimate or a forecast for a new channel. No channel-specific audience, uptime, or guaranteed reach follows from running a continuous stream.
