You can run a prerecorded fireplace video as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast from Windows by sending it through an encoder such as OBS. First enable live streaming on your channel, then create a YouTube stream, connect the encoder with the stream’s server URL and key, and keep the PC, source file and internet connection running. For a local-PC setup, the steps below cover preparation, launch, continuity, rights and archive limits; if you do not want a computer running at home, StreamNeo can loop uploaded videos to YouTube from the cloud.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel eligible for live streaming. YouTube requires channel verification and no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. If this is the channel’s first encoder stream, enabling live streaming can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until launch time. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and encoder setup instructions explain the requirements.
- A Windows PC that can play the video and run the encoder continuously, with the source file available locally.
- A stable internet connection with enough upload capacity for your chosen output settings. There is no India-specific bitrate or upload-speed figure established here; test the actual connection and consult YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance before choosing resolution and bitrate.
- A fireplace video and audio track you own or have cleared for live-stream use.
- An encoder. YouTube lists OBS as open-source software available at no charge. Its encoder options also include Windows software such as PRISM Live Studio, Streamlabs, Wirecast and XSplit; product features and availability can change. OBS is used for the example below.
Prepare the channel, video and stream
Enable live streaming in advance
Verify the channel and check its live-streaming eligibility before preparing the broadcast. A first-time encoder stream may take up to 24 hours to become enabled. If you cannot create a stream yet, wait for activation rather than troubleshooting OBS as though the encoder were at fault.
Check every part of the fireplace recording
Clear both the picture and the sound: a fireplace video may include third-party footage, music, sound effects, artwork or other material. Keep license records. YouTube checks live streams for third-party content; it can replace the broadcast with a placeholder, issue a warning, interrupt it or terminate it. A license alone may not prevent an interruption if the rights owner uses Content ID and has not allowlisted your channel. Ask the owner to allowlist the channel when applicable. In YouTube Studio, scheduling the stream creates a watch page that you can share in advance and lets viewers set reminders. If you are testing privately or preparing a launch, decide how the audience should find the stream before you start the encoder.

Set up OBS and connect it to YouTube
- Create or schedule the YouTube stream: In YouTube Studio, choose Create → Go Live, then create a stream or schedule one. Open that stream in Live Control Room.
- Copy the connection details: In the stream settings, copy YouTube’s server URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it can send a feed to your stream. Do not post it, show it on screen or share it in a public support request.
- Enter the details in OBS: In OBS, open Settings → Stream, select the YouTube/RTMP service option, and enter the server URL and stream key from Live Control Room. Labels can differ by OBS version. Keep the key private.
- Add the video and audio: Add the local fireplace recording as a media source in OBS and make sure the source is configured to keep playing or loop when it reaches the end. Check that the fire remains visible and the audio is present at a comfortable level. The source file must stay accessible to OBS for the duration of the broadcast.
- Choose output settings deliberately: Set resolution, frame rate, bitrate and keyframe interval in OBS using YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance. The right values depend on your chosen quality and actual upload connection; no specific Windows PC, connection rate or India-specific recommendation is established here. Avoid assuming a high resolution will be stable until you test it.
- Test the full chain: Start streaming in OBS and check the incoming preview and stream health in Live Control Room. Confirm picture, sound and connection stability before making the broadcast public or relying on it for an overnight run.
- Go live: Once the encoder feed appears correctly in Live Control Room, start the YouTube broadcast there if the workflow requires it. Confirm that the public watch page is showing the intended video.
Keep a local Windows stream running
A 24/7 local broadcast depends on the Windows PC, encoder, source file and internet connection all continuing to work. A YouTube stream can stop if any part of that chain fails. Before relying on it, test through the periods when the PC would otherwise sleep, restart or lose network access.
- Prevent Windows sleep or automatic shutdown while the stream is meant to run, and check update/restart behavior so a scheduled restart does not silently end the broadcast.
- Keep the video file in a stable local location; do not rename, move or disconnect the drive while OBS is using it.
- Monitor Live Control Room for stream health, dropped connection notices and copyright warnings.
- Plan how to reopen OBS and reconnect after a Windows restart, encoder crash or internet failure. A locally run stream does not automatically resume just because the PC reconnects.
- A UPS is optional and may bridge brief power interruptions, but size it for the PC and networking equipment together. No specific capacity or runtime is established; actual needs depend on the connected load.
These are operational precautions, not YouTube requirements or a guarantee of uninterrupted service. India-specific ISP reliability, power-outage patterns and home upload performance vary by location and are not established by the platform guidance.

Understand the 24-hour archive limitation
YouTube says, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That statement does not establish that one continuous 24-hour stream will be saved as a complete replay. If preserving the broadcast matters, check the current behavior in Live Control Room and consider shorter broadcast segments or a separate recording workflow rather than assuming a full-day archive will be available. Copyright, reused content and monetization
YouTube Partner Program creators can monetize live streams, subject to channel eligibility and policy compliance. The channel monetization policy applies to live content, and repetitive or reused material may create a monetization issue. A continuously looping fireplace scene does not by itself establish originality, eligibility, qualifying watch time or revenue. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies before building a channel around repeated ambience content.

Keep rights clearance separate from monetization eligibility: permission to use a recording does not guarantee monetization, and monetization eligibility does not replace permission. Copyright checks can affect the live broadcast while it is running, and a completed archive may receive a Content ID claim afterward.
Common problems and fixes

Does a 24-hour stream automatically become a complete YouTube replay?
YouTube’s stated automatic-archive rule covers streams under 12 hours, not a guaranteed complete archive of a 24-hour stream.
