You can run a 24/7 Bollywood instrumental radio stream by sending a continuous audio-and-video feed to YouTube through a local encoder such as OBS or a hosted cloud service. Before you start, clear the rights for every recording, composition and visual asset for live streaming—and for any archive you keep. Instrumental music is not automatically copyright-free, and YouTube can interrupt a live stream when its systems detect third-party content.
What you need before going live
Plan the stream as two separate jobs: establish permission for the content, then keep a continuous feed connected to YouTube. An encoder sends the media; the YouTube broadcast is the live event receiving it. You can run the encoder on your own computer or use a hosted service, but neither route grants music rights.
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled.
- A continuous audio-and-video feed, prepared in an encoder such as OBS or with a hosted service.
- Written rights for each sound recording, underlying composition and visual asset used in the broadcast.
- A monitoring plan for connection problems and copyright warnings.
YouTube for Artists explains the encoder approach for music channels in its Going live for music channels guide. YouTube’s API documentation also distinguishes the broadcast event from the stream carrying the media feed: YouTube Live Streaming API Overview.
Clear the music and visuals first
“Instrumental” describes the arrangement, not the legal status of the recording or composition. Removing vocals does not establish permission to broadcast a Bollywood track. A license for an ordinary upload, short-form video or other use may not cover a continuous live stream, every territory, monetization or the replay archive.

Make a rights inventory
For every track and visual, record its source, the relevant recording owner and composition or publishing stakeholders, and the exact permission you have. Confirm that the permission covers:
- YouTube live streaming in the territories where you intend to make the stream available.
- The specific sound recording and the underlying composition.
- The length of time you plan to stream and whether monetization is allowed.
- Keeping or publishing an archive of the live stream.
- Any Content ID allowlisting needed for your channel.
Keep the written agreements and correspondence. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for live content worldwide, including music rights involving artists, labels, publishers and other royalty participants. Licensing obligations can depend on the catalog and territory; seek qualified advice for the places where you plan to stream if you are unsure.

Do not treat a music label or purchase receipt as clearance
A “royalty-free” label, attribution, a purchase receipt or a vocal-free arrangement does not by itself prove that you have all the rights needed for a 24/7 live broadcast. If you commission instrumental arrangements, make sure the written agreement expressly covers the relevant recording and composition rights, live streaming and replay use.
YouTube’s Creator Music FAQ says Creator Music does not support licensing for live content. Its eligible track and video licensing arrangements are not a shortcut for clearing a continuous radio stream.

Set up a continuous YouTube feed with a local encoder
- Enable live streaming for the channel. Check the channel’s live-streaming availability in YouTube Studio before building the stream. Complete any channel verification or enablement steps YouTube presents, and allow time for access to become available.
- Create the YouTube broadcast. Use YouTube Studio’s current live workflow to schedule or start the broadcast. The broadcast is the event; it is separate from the incoming media stream that your encoder sends.
- Prepare the playlist and visuals. In OBS or another encoder, set up the instrumental audio playlist and a video scene or visual loop. Confirm the playlist advances as intended and that both audio and video are present. YouTube for Artists notes that an encoder provides more customization and control than a simple mobile or webcam stream.
- Connect the encoder to YouTube. Use the stream connection details provided by YouTube Studio in the encoder’s streaming configuration, then start the encoder feed. Follow the current encoder and YouTube guidance for the software and workflow you choose; there is no single bitrate, resolution or keyframe setting established here for every machine and source.
- Check the live control room. Verify that YouTube receives the feed, audio is audible and the visual loop is behaving correctly. Keep the control room available so you can respond to connection status changes or copyright warnings.
- Decide whether to retain the archive. If YouTube saves a replay, make sure your permissions cover that use before enabling or keeping the archive. The replay can receive a Content ID claim after the live event.
OBS’s help center provides guidance on encoding and hardware-encoding considerations. The appropriate configuration depends on the chosen computer, encoder and source; test the exact playlist and setup before relying on it around the clock.
Choose where the stream runs
| Option | What stays running | Control and recovery | Cost considerations |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo cloud stream | The playback runs in the cloud, so your computer does not need to stay on; you still need a connection to set it up and manage it. | Upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo says it can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. | Flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps; plans differ by duration. See current details at StreamNeo pricing. |
| Local encoder computer | The computer, encoder, power and upload connection need to remain available. | You control the local encoder and media workflow; you need to plan your own monitoring and recovery. | Hardware and electricity costs depend on what you already own. No current cost comparison is established here. |
Hosted services vary, so check their current YouTube workflow, playlist behavior, stream-key handling, recovery arrangements, support, terms and cancellation or data controls before choosing one. No provider uptime or independent performance test is established here. Whether you use a local encoder or a cloud service, the music-rights requirements remain the same.

Monitor copyright warnings and interruptions
YouTube says it scans all live streams for matches to third-party content, including another live broadcast. A match can cause a placeholder to replace the stream; if the matched material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the broadcast. See Copyright issues with live streams.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- If a warning appears, identify the track or other matched material and pause or replace it promptly. Do not assume that a stream is safe merely because the music is instrumental.
- If you licensed third-party content, ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube warns that a license alone does not guarantee the automated live match will not interrupt the stream.
- Keep a prepared replacement track or a way to pause the playlist so you can respond without leaving disputed content in the feed.
- If the live stream is archived, check the resulting video for claims as well. Resolve archive permissions separately from the live broadcast permissions.
Understand monetization before building the channel around it
Copyright permission and YouTube Partner Program eligibility are separate questions. YouTube applies its monetization policies to live streams, and its channel monetization policies identify repetitive or mass-produced material as inauthentic content. Reused content is assessed separately from copyright. Having permission to use a track therefore does not guarantee that a channel will qualify for monetization.

Give the channel meaningful editorial value through distinctive curation, original artwork or animation, useful track information, editorial framing and genuine variety. Those practices can make the programming more individual, but they are not a promise of monetization or approval.
Troubleshoot common 24/7 stream problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube shows no incoming video or audio | The encoder is not sending a working feed to the broadcast, or the playlist or scene is not producing the expected media. | Check the encoder’s connection state, selected YouTube broadcast, audio source and visual scene. Confirm the playlist is advancing and inspect the live control room for the current connection status. |
| A copyright warning appears or the stream is replaced by a placeholder | YouTube detected matching third-party content; having a license may not prevent an automated match. | Pause or replace the matched content, review the license scope, and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting. Do not resume that track until the rights issue is addressed. |
| The live stream ends unexpectedly | The feed may have dropped, or YouTube may have interrupted it because matched material remained. | Check the control room and encoder status to distinguish a connection failure from a copyright interruption. Restore the feed if it dropped; if YouTube flagged content, remove or replace that content before returning live. |
| The replay receives a claim after the stream | The archived video is subject to matching and may have rights requirements beyond the live-use permission. | Review whether your agreement covers archive use and handle the claim through the applicable rights-holder or YouTube process. Do not assume live clearance also covers the replay. |
| The channel does not qualify for monetization | Monetization eligibility is assessed separately from rights clearance; repetitive or mass-produced programming may be considered inauthentic. | Review the channel-level monetization policies and make the programming’s curation and original value clear. No live-stream format guarantees monetization. |
