You can send prerecorded Spanish stories to YouTube through an encoder, but YouTube’s published guidance does not confirm an officially supported, unattended 24/7 prerecorded loop. You can keep a feed live and still fail to get a complete replay: YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be archived. This guide covers the do-it-yourself setup, the children’s-content and copyright checks, and the limits to plan around.
What you need before setting up the stream
YouTube supports live streaming through encoder software. Before starting, check these prerequisites and prepare the material you intend to broadcast.
- Eligible channel: YouTube’s live-streaming requirements, checked in October 2026, say the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. YouTube also says the person livestreaming must be at least 16 years old. Check YouTube Help for the current requirements, since platform rules and interface labels can change.
- Prerecorded videos: Prepare the story videos you have the right to use. A computer running encoder software is one possible setup; the available guidance does not establish a minimum processor, memory, operating system, or computer model.
- Encoder software: You need an encoder configured to send a live feed to YouTube. The exact settings and labels depend on the encoder and may change.
- A continuity and recording plan: Decide who will monitor the feed, how you will respond if it stops, and whether you need a separate local recording. Neither a particular computer nor YouTube’s encoder workflow guarantees unattended operation.
Prepare the children’s stories, audience setting, and rights
Decide accurately whether the content is Made for Kids
Spanish-language narration or a story format alone does not settle whether a stream is “Made for Kids.” Assess the actual content and intended audience, and select the audience setting that accurately reflects them. YouTube provides an audience choice in the Live Control Room when you create a stream. If the material qualifies as Made for Kids, do not choose a different setting just to retain features.
YouTube lists restrictions for streams marked Made for Kids, including live chat, personalized advertising, channel memberships, notifications, Super Chat, and Super Stickers. Consider those effects when planning how you will interact with viewers and what monetization assumptions you make.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Confirm that every element is cleared for livestream use
Make sure your permissions cover the relevant territories and uses for the stories, readings, illustrations, recordings, sound effects, and music in the stream. A right to use a story or track in one context does not necessarily establish permission for every live and archived use.
YouTube says its systems scan live streams for third-party matches. A placeholder may replace the feed, and a stream may be interrupted or terminated if matched content continues. A license by itself may not prevent an interruption if the necessary rights-management steps are missing. YouTube’s Livestream Terms and Conditions say: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.”

Set up the YouTube encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio and prepare a live stream. Use the current live-stream creation flow and select the appropriate audience setting. YouTube’s interface can change, so follow the labels currently shown in Studio.
- Get the connection details from YouTube. The encoder needs YouTube’s Live server URL and the stream key for the stream. Treat the key as a credential: do not publish it, show it in screenshots, or share it with anyone who should not control the broadcast.
- Configure the encoder to send to YouTube. Enter the server URL and stream key in the encoder’s stream settings. Choose the video and audio inputs that contain your prerecorded story material, and configure output to match the source and the encoder’s current YouTube guidance. The reviewed YouTube guidance does not establish a universal bitrate, resolution, or keyframe interval for every source and encoder, so avoid assuming one fixed set of values is right for all setups.
- Start with a monitored test. Send the encoder feed to YouTube and check the preview and stream status before relying on it. Confirm that the story audio is audible, the video is visible, and the selected audience and broadcast metadata are correct. This is a practical check, not a guarantee that the stream will remain online unattended.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it. Use the encoder and YouTube’s current controls to start the live broadcast. For a long-running stream, decide in advance who will notice an interruption and what steps they will take to restore the feed. YouTube guidance reviewed here does not establish an automatic restart or redundancy feature for a creator’s encoder setup.
Plan for a 24-hour feed and its replay limitations
A 24/7 feed and a complete 24-hour archive are different outcomes. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived and recommends keeping a local archive backup. It warns that a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Therefore, do not promise viewers a complete replay of a continuous 24-hour broadcast.
If preserving the full program matters, make a separate local recording and verify that it completed and plays back. DVR may let viewers pause or rewind during a broadcast, but YouTube says DVR can be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. A local copy is a separate safeguard; it does not guarantee YouTube will create a complete archive.

Understand monetization limits for children’s story streams
YouTube’s monetization rules apply to livestreams. On July 15, 2025, YouTube renamed its “repetitious content” policy “inauthentic content” and clarified that repetitive or mass-produced content is ineligible for monetization. Original stories with meaningful variation and creative value are a stronger editorial approach than repeatedly publishing minimally changed templates, but no format guarantees YouTube Partner Program eligibility.
For material designated Made for Kids, personalized advertising is not shown and the features listed above are restricted. Do not forecast earnings from ad views or assume that keeping a stream live will make it eligible for monetization.

Common problems and practical responses
- The stream does not connect: Check that the channel meets YouTube’s live-streaming requirements, that the server URL and stream key were copied into the correct encoder fields, and that the key has not been exposed or replaced. Use the current controls in YouTube Studio to retrieve valid connection details.
- The feed is interrupted after a rights match: Review the stream for third-party material and confirm that permissions and any required rights-management steps cover livestream use. A license may not, by itself, prevent a platform interruption.
- Viewers cannot use chat or other features: Check the audience designation and the restrictions YouTube applies to Made for Kids content. Do not change a correct audience setting to restore a restricted feature.
- There is no complete replay: A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be archived. Use a separately recorded local copy when you need a record of the full program, and verify the file rather than assuming it exists.
- The feed stops while nobody is watching it: A computer running an encoder is not a guarantee of uninterrupted service. Arrange human monitoring and test a recovery plan; the reviewed guidance does not establish a guaranteed automatic restart for a self-managed encoder.
