You can run a continuous Hindi nursery-rhyme broadcast on YouTube from India, but plan it as a repeating live programme—not as one indefinitely preserved video. Use an encoder to send prepared video and audio, keep the outgoing connection reliable, and end and restart the stream before it reaches 12 hours. YouTube warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all, so make local recordings and check each archive segment. Before broadcasting, clear the rights to every song, recording and visual, and set the audience accurately for children.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified and has had no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s live-stream guidance sets these as requirements for livestreaming.
- An encoder-based setup. An encoder sends your prepared audiovisual programme to YouTube; it can be software or hardware. YouTube does not require a hardware encoder, though its guidance recommends professional-grade hardware for higher-production-value events.
- A prepared playlist of material you are authorized to stream, plus a way to make and keep local recordings.
- A stable internet connection with enough sustained upload capacity for your chosen stream settings, and an operator who can monitor the broadcast and handle restarts or faults.
Keep the YouTube stream key private. Anyone with access to it may be able to send a broadcast to your channel.

Prepare the channel and encoder
- Confirm eligibility. Verify the channel and check that it has no live-stream restrictions from the previous 90 days before scheduling a launch.
- Build the programme. Assemble the Hindi rhymes, visuals and transitions you plan to broadcast. Check that each item has the necessary permissions for a live YouTube stream and its archived playback; see the rights section below before using third-party material.
- Create the live stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Choose the encoder workflow rather than the mobile or webcam path for a prepared, repeating programme.
- Copy the connection details. In the stream setup, copy the YouTube Live server URL and stream key into the matching fields in your encoder. Do not publish or share the key.
- Match the encoder settings. Set the encoder to the resolution, frame rate, codec and bitrate you have chosen for the programme, and use the settings YouTube presents for that stream. The guidance available here does not establish one bitrate or resolution that is right for every connection and production. Keep the output consistent with the stream setup and your tested upload capacity.
- Inspect the preview, then test privately. Before a public launch, run an unlisted test and watch it on the actual YouTube watch page, including on a phone. Check sound level and clarity, picture quality, audio/video sync, playlist transitions and whether the local recording is growing and can be played back.
YouTube recommends setting up the encoder well in advance, checking the preview and monitoring audio and video quality. A test should include the complete chain—playlist, encoder, connection and watch page—not just a local preview.

Leave upload headroom
Add up the outgoing bitrate used by the stream and make sure the connection can sustain more than that amount. YouTube recommends leaving 20% bandwidth room beyond the total stream bitrate. Treat that as headroom, not as a guarantee: other users and devices sharing the network can reduce the capacity actually available to the encoder. Prefer a wired connection where practical and observe the live stream over time rather than relying on a single speed test.

Test the backup path
If continuity matters, arrange a backup encoder or connection and test the switch before launch. YouTube’s guidance describes stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable to check whether the player rolls over to the backup. Confirm that the backup is configured correctly and that the watch page recovers as expected. Backup internet and power can also reduce some failure risks, but they add cost and operational complexity; no specific equipment or setup guarantees uninterrupted service.
Write down who can access the encoder and channel, how to restart the programme, and what to do if the primary path fails. Keep the recovery instructions and account access available to the person on duty.
Make one continuous schedule out of archive-safe segments
A 24/7 broadcast schedule does not mean YouTube will create one uninterrupted archive. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived; if a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. Plan each broadcast as a separate segment that ends comfortably before the 12-hour mark, leaving time for the transition and recovery rather than aiming to stop at the last possible moment.

- CoComelon's essential album of the best Nursery Rhymes is perfect for your little ones to sing along to
- Prepare the next stream and its playlist before ending the current segment.
- End the current stream while it is still below 12 hours, then start the next segment using the planned stream setup.
- Confirm on the public or unlisted watch page that the new segment is live before leaving the transition unattended.
- Check that YouTube has an archive for the finished segment and that your local recording is complete and playable. Keep the local copy as a separate backup.
- Keep a playlist or schedule that helps viewers find the current stream after each restart.
A planned restart can create a gap. Testing failover, monitoring the connection and retaining local copies can reduce risk, but they do not establish a guarantee of gapless broadcasting or complete archive continuity.
Set the audience correctly for a children’s programme
YouTube requires creators to designate whether content is made for kids. Its examples of child-oriented music genres include “Nursery Rhymes” and “Hindi Children” music. If the channel is designed for nursery-age viewers, assess the stream accordingly and choose the audience setting in Live Control Room that accurately reflects the content. The creator—not an automated classification—remains responsible for the designation.
Made for Kids live streams have feature limits. YouTube lists live chat and live chat donations, personalized advertising, comments, notifications and other features as unavailable or limited for such content. Build the channel’s moderation and business plan around those restrictions: do not rely on live chat, or assume that ordinary personalized-ad revenue will be available. Check the current audience controls and channel status in YouTube Studio before going live.

Clear the rights to songs, recordings and visuals
Do not treat a familiar rhyme as automatically cleared for a livestream. YouTube’s livestream terms require the streamer to have the necessary rights for worldwide use of the live content, including music licensing rights, and to comply with applicable law. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If a match continues, it may replace the image or interrupt or terminate the stream. A licensed track may still need the relevant rights holder to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. A claim can also appear on the archive after the broadcast ends.
Make a rights inventory for every item
For each song or visual in the playlist, record who controls the rights and what permission you have. Check each relevant element rather than treating a song as one blanket clearance:
- Lyrics, including any translation or adaptation, and the underlying musical composition.
- The arrangement and the specific sound recording you will play.
- Singers’ and instrumentalists’ performances.
- Animation, illustrations, fonts, stock footage and other on-screen assets.
India’s Copyright Act, 1957 recognizes rights in musical works, including reproduction and communication to the public. IPRS describes licensing for music within its control and online uses, but that does not establish that it represents every work or clears every right involved. A licence for a sound recording from PPL or another recording-rights holder should not be assumed to cover lyrics, composition, performance, visuals, YouTube use, territory, archived playback or monetization. Confirm repertoire and permitted uses directly with the relevant rights holders; for a commercial 24/7 operation, seek advice from an India-qualified copyright or entertainment lawyer.

An old or traditional rhyme may have a different rights position from a modern arrangement, performance, recording or animation of it. Keep written permission that expressly covers the actual uses you need: livestreaming on YouTube, archived playback, territory, duration, monetization, edits or looping, and Content ID handling. The rights status of any particular Hindi rhyme or recording cannot be inferred without checking that item.

YouTube’s encoder guidance says eligible YouTube Partner Program participants can monetize a live stream, but that does not promise that ads will appear on every playback. Made for Kids restrictions also mean personalized ads are not served on children’s content, and features such as live chat and Super Chat are unavailable or limited for these streams.

On July 15, 2025, YouTube clarified its policy language around “inauthentic content,” describing repetitive or mass-produced work as ineligible under the existing policy. Do not assume that putting songs into a long loop makes a channel eligible for monetization. Make the channel’s original contribution visible—for example, through original songs, distinctive animation or meaningful educational material—and review the current channel status and rules in YouTube Studio.

DIY costs and operating trade-offs
A self-hosted setup can use a software encoder, but the computer, encoder, network connection and power must remain available to send the stream. A hardware encoder is an option for a higher-production-value workflow, not a YouTube requirement. A second encoder or internet path adds redundancy at the cost of more equipment, configuration and monitoring. Budget also for producing or licensing content, local storage, electricity and the time needed to check transitions, archives and rights.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a pre-recorded Hindi rhyme programme, StreamNeo is an alternative way to keep a YouTube stream running without leaving your own computer on: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube only. Its recovery feature attempts to resume if YouTube drops the stream; it is not a promise of uninterrupted uptime or a replacement for checking archive segments.
- Nothing has to stay on at home to keep the cloud stream running.
- One flat price per slot covers the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode or quality tiers.
- Automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free, with no card required.
- Monthly: $9.99 per month.
Every slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, and StreamNeo team support. StreamNeo’s stream still needs rights-cleared content and an accurate Made for Kids setting; continuous playback does not remove YouTube’s archive limit or guarantee monetization.
